Formal request for target dummies. (1.6 is a perfect example)

drop your ults at the right time and every boss in AA is already a target dummy
Sure just grab 11 of your buddies that just happen to be on the PTS at the same time as you and have the time to go through AA to test out different builds/gear (meaning running AA to X boss, disbanding and starting over). We need Target Dummies, plain and simple. It's one of the most basic elements in just about all MMO's.

Yeah, we need practice dummies. The only possible annoyance would be from other players, but then again if I'm in a 12-person or even a 4-person raid, I expect there to be plenty of debuffs & status effects on the target anyway. Plus, enabling a fellow player to put a minor fracture on a test dummy might turn out to be a plus in the end.

Besides, we know from the PTS that they can make nearly invincible NPCs - i.e. guards.
"Things which are alike in nature grow to look alike, and the speaking stones have lain a long time lookin' at the sun. Some believe they descend with the lightning, but I believe they are on the ground and are projected downward by the bolt."

I agree. If we have target dummy in every main city of every map everyone can test dps and maximize his build.

First target dummy then people will cry for inspection option then we gonna have another game people are going to be divided by their gear and skill choices.
Then every single person going to play with same 5 skills. So Voila , we got another generic MMO.

So NOPE to all suggestions like this.

This is already the case. If you don't have the correct armors and skills you won't get invited in good guilds that are competing (if you're not in those guilds you won't get a top time unless you get carried by some bored players doing a random run).
And if you do get invited, people will ask you to change how you play and won't invite you to meaningful runs until you do.

Inspection & target dummies won't change anything.

Are you seriously implying this isn't already the case?

To turn it around; Is it fair for a player who wants to be a good player, to be really really crap because this game doesn't have DPS meters or target dummies so he doesn't know that he's crap? And then if he ever gets in a group he needs to be carried through because he can't perform at the minimum level required for the content?

People are already testing DPS on Elite mobs, Zone Bosses, and Dungeon/Trial Bosses when they can find a group. We test our builds, discuss it, and post videos and pictures all over the internet.

Target dummies would take a process that already exists and make it much easier and convenient. Also it would make it much easier to generate feedback on the PTS. It's a win/win for both the player base and ZoS.

The inspection option is an entirely different issue, and is in no way tied to target dummies.

This is needed for PTS badly. Putting a team together to work on your build and test is very difficult. This doesn't seem like a challenge at all to implement. Take the invincible town guards, make them stationary with no attacks and add a straw dummy skin.

Putting a few dummies in a town will also draw PTS testers together to talk and compare.

Time to necro. This request is still valid. We are again testing in PTS. I am still formally and politely asking for wrobeldolls.

How long it takes to kill that thing with enough health that you can usefully measure, is how you 'rough and ready' DPS measurement.

It's essential that you learn to weave. The ability to usefully weave a weapon or class skill with a light attack is crucial to generating good DPS.

My VR9 Vampire Witch can generate huge damage with a woven Fire Staff doing Light Attack, and say Force Shock. The crits just go nuts, I do run 50% spell critical which makes that really strong.

My level 14 Argonian NB can weave a Bow and Poison Arrow or Dual Wield, 2 precise Daggers, of course, and Blood Craze for much greater effect than any normal use of those weapons.

You just do Light Attack and whatever the other attack is, as fast as you can. The game's internal timer will limit that but it is far more damage over time than any other method will generate. I guess you could practice weaving on a practice dummy but don't you have stuff to do? Practice it there.

I am baffled that anyone would actually try to generate an argument against this. My only guess is that it's coming from people that have never played an MMO that had this feature.

    Games that include target dummies:

    WoW
    SWTOR
    RIFT
    LOTRO
    EQ2
    GW2

ETC. The list goes on and on. There is no harm in having them. As mentioned before, this is something that smart developers understand as a staple to a solid MMO. And as long as we are revamping the entire game in order to make it more appealing, then why not add them to the list as well?

you could train up to 20-30% in wep skills in UO

I find it strange that ESO does not have any target dummies. Most of the other high grade MMOs I've played over the years had target dummies in order to check/test your dps and rotation.
There is one NPC dummy that will never die if you attack him.
(Hint: He sits near the tree outside a small city and has a dog as his friend. DC area.)

Id like to put my bid in for this too. These aren't just for min/maxing. It allows people to practice their rotations, weaving and test out dps and gear combos. I have no clue why these aren't already there.

The reason I would imagine is behind this is there is no Damage meter without addon's, so for consoles this would be pretty pointless.

Target dummies like dueling/arena just leads to nerf/buff posts and Zen insulting, game gets bad reputation in a few month. Protip: Less players know, the better.

ZoS please understand everyone thinks and pronounces things differently, so please add to your 'rules' that things get removed if the Mod doesn't actually quite understand phrasing
