    I'm starting to get to the point where I feel like the hardest thing in the game is finding 3 more people to do Darkshade Caverns with me. Done about 35 runs so far with no luck.

    Yep, this is also an issue for me. Everyone is either sick of the dungeons or has the sets they need for their build. I'm stuck without a group some days now, even being in 2 very active guilds and a large active trade guild.

    All those proc chances are way to low to worth other bonuses you could have by getting other sets.
    Even such things like Lich Crystal and Valkin Skoria sets only worthy on AOE fights.

    Thats not true. I use the skoria set for solo pvp with a magica build even though i only have two medium armor pieces.
    I´m playing a sorc so I don´t have class dots. I´ve adjusted my build to work better with the set.
    A rng 700 dmg nuke is simply a no brainer.

    On heavy aoe fights it becomes hilarious. When running with my grp my main dmg came from:
    230k lightning flood
    70k caltrops
    65k meteors
    60k streak
    ...

    I only tried 1 evening bc 2 leather pieces is not sustainable for me in grp play.

    The lich crystal set is crap. I have to admit that. Mainly because of the dmg delay. It simply does not hit ppl. With shorter or no delay it would be even better than skoria bc its not block and/or reflectable.

    Actually it's very much worth it if you can fit the 2 piece into your build. Some are worthless like Lich but Malubeth, Bloodspawn, and Valkyn are quite good. Sometimes it can be hard to fit them into a specific build though, in which case it probably wouldn't be worth it.

    After a few days of my computer overheating, I'm getting it fixed today, so here's hoping RNG decides to bless me tonight. I'm not banking on it.

    Guys! I have a hilariously awful idea that would still be better than what ZOS currently has in place. How about instead of bronze/silver/gold chests, we have light/medium/heavy reward chests to use our bronze/silver/gold keys on? Want to try your RNG for a light shoulder? Great, just open the light chest, ect. To go along with this, we would have light/medium/heavy dungeon instances (selected in the group window along side the vet/non vet toggle). Light dungeon has only light helms in the loot table, and so on.

    It would theoretically cut the time to get what you want by 1/3. And actually make people more inclined to farm for specific traits. Now sure, this would be a pretty horrible system (good luck finding ppl for a heavy run) but that's my point. It just highlights how absolutely terribad the current RNG lotto is.

    I am on the verge of deconstructing all pieces I have gotten. The Undaunted idea was good. Rank 9 and all passives mean a lot more to me than any of the sets except "maybe" Valkyn Skoria´s set. My pyromancer vr1 DK would have much better use of it than my main.

    I liked how easy it was to find a group during the time. Many new faces with whom I hadn´t played. Thanks all.

    Good idea, except Zenimax doesn't care. Look how many f**ks they gave since the start of this thread. They can't fix all the horrid bugs, why would they start fixing messed up drop system?

    I fear these sets will be obsolete around 1.7, with seasonal gear coming out. Unlucky players will never be able to try them out.

    Shoulder droprate for me is about 10%, based on handing in around 80+ gold keys. I still haven't got a single Engine Guardian Shoulder, for example. So for someone only doing daily on one character, you're basically looking at years of grind , to get right armor type, set and decent trait. It's absurd.

    Whether the sets are great or mediocre, is highly irrelevant. Players should at least have a realistic chance to obtain them and form their own opinion.

    So we're getting seasonal gear...with this messed up rng system. Players will basically never get a chance to have fun with new sets, before obsolete and time for new tier. It's a flawed loot distribution design and ZoS needs to step it up.

    Yeah, I think ZOS forgot about the long tail, sure RNG is awesome for the people in my group who keep getting helms on their first run - but for me who has run Wayrest 35 times now with no helms it's getting infuriating. They really need to add a bonus to your RNG the longer you go without a helm in a specific dungeon. I'd like to know what the maximum number or runs I can do before I get a helm. But right now it could be infinite.

    I'm at 14 gold keys with no shoulders - before that I got 3 shoulders in the first 5 keys I got

    just allow shoulders to drop off a different boss in the same instance as helmet, along with the slim chance of quest. Problem solved and everyone can farm the shoulders they want with usable traits and armor type. The system now is ridiculous to put it nicely

    Also a strange thing in vet BC, last boss Rilis seems to drop the helmet more often than the Daedroth boss. While in vet Wayrest I only got the mask from the first boss, so there seems to be some irregulaity in which boss drops it.

    The final boss in BC is the only one that drops the Helm, and the first boss in WS is the only boss that drops that Helm. There is no irregularity on which Boss drops it, it's only 1 per Vet Dungeon and it's always the same Boss. As for bad RNG, I am one with it. I've had only 2 Shoulders drop since this system came out and only 3 different Helms. I can't tell you how many times I've run SC for the Gargoyle Helm and seen it drop repeatedly for 1 player while the other 3 of us in group never got it. Of all of those, only 1 Helm is exactly what I want, the rest are either Medium-Sturdy or something else that I'm wearing anyway like Light-Reinforced just to get the 2-set to work. It's a really terrible system that Zos at least needs to acknowledge there's a huge outcry from the players about.

    According to that unlucky guildie of mine, the number of runs is 300+ =x Still no Bogdan helmet. He even wrote a ticket to CS and they told him it's "such a rare item" and he should "keep trying". Right.

    I was running 5 vr14s every day to get gold keys. I'm pulling less shoulders then people who run it once a day. It doenst make sense. Being unlucky is going to happen but im at 39 gold key turn ins since my last shoulder piece. I think the system is neat and i love how the type and trait are all random. I just wish there was a more stable system put in place to obtain the items then just chance.

    I honestly think they should implement a need/greed system (and bigger loot tables) for atleast the Veteran Dungeons/Trials, as well as some kind of reputation or token system for the Undaunted chests.

    Helm Drop Chance = 1/10~

    Since shoulder come in all 3 types and can be one of 6 helms. Ignoring traits, to get the specific type of shoulder you want is aprox 1/108, or a 1%~ chance per key.

    Yes, the drop rate is a tad low. While I personally have almost everything I want (except the damned Valkyn shoulders, I can only get medium versions, grrr) I feel the pain of everyone else. Its way too grindy to get what has become some of the best sets in the game.

    A token system would be lovely.

    Source: Aprox 250 undaunted runs since it came out across 6 characters. Add up # runs / Shoulders and thats how I got the 1/6 drop chance. The helm chance is estimated since I tend to run a few extra dungeons per day to help people out, but the number feels right. Could be off.

    Man you have AMAZING RNG luck. I have turned in over 30 gold keys (only 1 VR character) and have received only 2 Shoulders total. I have farmed several of the Helms so many times I can't even count (well over 100, probably much more) and have had only 5 total Helms drop, 3 of which are Medium-Sturdy. In one evening me and my Guildmates farmed the Gargoyle in SC for an hour and the Tank got 3 in a row, nobody else got any. Each Gargoyle run takes about 4-6 minutes, including the time to disband-regroup-booted from Dungeon-then porting back in.

    Point is the system as it is now is horrible for some and it needs tweaking. I'm 100% against a need/greed roll system but now I'm 100% for some form of Undaunted Token system.

    I went 3 weeks without getting a single shoulder on all 6 characters. Random is random. Your 1/15 isn't that far out of normal deviations. Others I run with have roughly similar results for the 1/6 chance as well, I just don't have hard numbers handy.

    That said, yes the system is indeed horribad =)

    67/100 done for the achievement, still nothing from the gold box I can use. At this point, I stopped caring, just like ZOS doesn't care at all.

Since they don't care, I guess I won't care, and just not bother with any of that Undaunted stuff anymore. Its not like i'll get anything other then a generic purple staff, 69 gold, and a gem from it anyways, so why even bother.:(

    I get gold keys everytime I do the pledge. I have never not gitten a gild key. I do anywhere between 2 and sometimes 5 per week time depending, one character and ziltch.

    I'm beginning to think the RNG is glitchec for a small number if accounts because I have talked to a few other people in the same boat as me.

    To give you an idea I have killed the gargoyle in spindleclutch over 100 times and never seen a helmet. I have never seen any shoulders from any of the gold chests I have done. It really is a bummer for me and the other small group of players that it seems will never get a chance to use these.

    The whole system does seem more than a bit counter productive.

    The sets/passives that were intended to encourage people to mix up the armor types (infiltrator, etc) are hardly worth swapping out crafted gear.

    The two pieces are nice (some) and a novelty (most). The fact that you can complete the set without having the same weight at least gives you the set.

    You then get to decide if the benefit is worth the hit you take.

    I've gotten more than some, it seems, on just one character. I have not yet gotten enough that I get to be picky about traits in most cases, and weights in some.

    The pledges, while intended to promote repeatable content has had the effect of causing people to not run non-pledge-day dungeons unless they are farming for gear.

    I have seen the medium pieces have a higher drop rate too, in my experience.

    If you're tanking and trying to get gear? Good luck.

    I'd say, completion of all achieves for a particular dungeon (Vet, at least) should automatically grant a piece.

    The undaunted rep (which stops at 9, since it's currently broken) ceases to be worth it as much, and if they're gonna offer up items that just get sold or broken down, shouldn't there be at least a choice in rewards?

    To be fair, the sets will all have a niche. For example, the light armor set which increases light and heavy attack damage after using a spell costing stamina is very effective for Overload sorcerers. In testing my Overload light attacks reached 1300+ crits and heavy attacks reached 600+ non-crit.

    As far as the 2-piece sets go, a few are good, one or 2 are overpowered, and the rest are neat. The only one I would call terrible is the Bogdan's set.

    Blood Spawn and Engine Guardian are overpowered.

    I think calling these two sets OP might be a stretch. The fact these are 2 worth having versus the others you don't see used outside of PvP indicates the other sets should be improved. Malubeth is okay as is I think, and I can see that Blood Spawn WILL be OP with 1.6 but currently it just helps non-DK tanks stay on par with Ulti use.

    With the current RNG system, luck is rewarded not persistence or skill. I would love to see either a token system (like alliance points) or a boe system so we can sell or trade excess equipment for the peices we actually need. I would love to swap my tanking drops for things more suitable for a healer- it would be a win win- instead I just have bop junk filling up my bags that I can't bare to decon.
