I just bought the game on Steam. I think I deserve an account merge. I even sent a support ticket to them about it. I haven't gotten a response yet.
Nope not wrong. Steam was using over 100 meg when I ran it. ARC used 30 meg. I see no reason to run steam. I use raptr and that tracks all my games and i dont even have to add the game to it as it did it automatically. Raptr uses 25 megs.

Pretty easy.
*shrug* You gotta do what you gotta do. All kinds of games have gone on Steam after a time even when sold other places before. I'm feeling a bit salty about the dog they get...but that is how it is.
This is how things work. They sometimes suck or are not fair. You make your decision as you must. It isn't a deal breaker for me as it obviously is for you.

Wrong. Steam is currently using 36 MB. That's inconsequential. Not to mention, the game sales on Steam MORE than compensate for any perceived "bloat".
Seriously, I picked up Borderlands 2 and EVERY LAST BIT of DLC for the game for $4.99 recently.
You just can't beat that with a stick.

A lot of STEAM customers look for these 2 things when they are about to buy a game. "Is it appreciated by my fellow STEAM members ? Is any of my STEAM friends playing it right now, and for how long ? Oh, johndoe7777 left a good review and played it for 100 hours, it must be a great game, I'm buying it !". You are losing potential subscribers right now.
You can create different kinds of keys on STEAM, just add a "Get for free" button on your STEAM profile. This button won't create a serial for TESO or anything, but it will really add the game to our steam account.
Playing on a PC doesn't make you different and certainly doesn't make you superior, if that's what you're trying to imply.@ZOS_AmeliaR, I understand you're trying to give us an alternative, but we're PC gamers, not consolers, please don't treat us as such.

"Greetings!
Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.
Great question!
Players with existing accounts for The Elder Scrolls Online do not need a Steam key to play ESO via Steam. Instead, those players should add their existing title to Steam.
To do this, go to the "Games" option within Steam and select "Add Non-Steam Game to My Library." Players should then select the checkbox next to "The Elder Scrolls Online" and click "Add Selected Programs."
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your continued interest and support!"

To me, Steam is the obnoxious 'internet required' DRM I had to tolerate in order to play Skyrim, why would anyone voluntarily use their crap simply to post screenshots in a forum?
I never installed Skyrim after buying it because of that.
Yes, I know this is an on-line game but by using them you're encouraging their obnoxious brand of DRM for non-internet games.

I can't play Skyrim without setting up a STEAM account and need an Internet connection to play.shehieb17_ESO wrote: »fromtesonlineb16_ESO wrote: »Why the fixation on Steam?

Total BS. Steam has nothing to do with DRM, it is the games themselves.

IDC whose 'fault' it is, if people didn't encourage Steam's existence developers like Bethesda wouldn't indulge in on-line mandated DRM, they wouldn't have the resources to deploy such obnoxious DRM on OFF-LINE games.
That's a great piece of logic, kassandrathecleric. Unfortunately for Zenimax, if I don'get a Steam key, I'll just be cancelling my sub out of frustration, and they won't have to worry about losing any cut in revenue, because there will be no revenue.
Pretty easy.

hahaahahahahaha
this is exactly what is wrong with people. The word 'cancel' loses all value when people toss it around like this. No one in their right mind would cancel a game they already bought because you wont get a steam key much later then when it released, especially when back when it did release, and you bought the game, no mention of it going to steam was ever made. I mean c'mon.

That's funny. Myself and three other guildmates canceled our subs last night.
Every community is littered with pissed off people right now.
Guess you're just flat out wrong, huh.

When you dissapear from the forums I'll be wrong, until then I lump you into the big category of people here who act like they cancel every time something isn't exactly the way they want it, but mysteriously keep posting......myyssterioussllyyy...
Add it as a non-steam game and most of your complaints become invalid. Dog, trading cards, achievements, only things that doesn't resolve. You didn't know or care about them 2 days ago, you only care now because its something to throw a fit about. Its sad but soon, other retailers might get 'special bonus items' that you wont have access to either, are you going to throw a fit every time that happens and you didn't get the gamestop pet, or benefit or whatever, and act like its Zenimax throwing it in your face?
Ive had TESO in my steam list as a non-steam game since november of last November of last year when I got invited into beta. No issues to report, works great. Have overlay, see friends, blah blah blah blah blah.
Things I dont need: steam key.

Still downloading.
Yeah, because that's happened so far. Pretty sure they know the second they start silencing threads is the second this goes from being a temporary PR frustration, to viral, and pissing people off who don't even care about the game to begin with.
Watch.
You don't care, so you think others don't. They do.
Cause steam takes 30% of the sale. That would cost ESO millions, every key they have already sold, that steam 'allowed' to be activated, ESO would have to pay 30% of the box sale price to steam. Why not just allow all boxed/digital regular and imperial edition codes to work with Steam?
Steam > Games > Activate a Product on Steam > Input code that came with your ESO version
Viola, ESO activated on your Steam account. Makes everyone happy.
