Launcher broken / clicking play automatically crashes.

I'm using a mac, just downloaded the patch after hours due to the fact it kept trying to download the WHOLE game again.

Basically it just finished the 2600 MB patch and now when I click play it automatically crashes.

Curious to if anyone has a similar issue.

And i had a similar issue... I reinstalled the game and it worked, only took 5 hours QQ

Between posting on multiple different sources, forgive my slip up!

I'm not downloading the client again.. I don't have the downloads to throw around, this is stupid.. they need to sort this nonsense out or test patches before making them live.

I too have this issue, and am running on windows with all drivers etc updated and working fine as I was playing the game last night.
I downloaded the patch but as OP said clicking play would make the game crash giving a fatal error. Hitting repair made the client want to redownload 22.5GB, which is almost the size of the total game. Ive hit cancel on it as it would likely push me over my monthly data quota, plus waiting to hear back from others to see if repair is working as intended.
I would have liked to play this weekend but might leave it and hope there are some fixes made by next week

Well I'm still fiddling about and hopefully will stumble upon some ESO coding expert who knows a fix.. but in the mean time this sucks, do they seriously not test patches before implementing them? I don't have the downloads to go about re-downloading the client.

Guys... don't need to reinstall it (if u didn't try this) there should be a gear in the open game, click it and there should be a Fix game option. Hope this help

Its not adding data in it, its most like coping over the original so that any files missed would be added.

boris I appreciate your efforts which i see all over the forum, but your being too optimistic about what the issues are here. The miraculous fix game option, repair, wants to redownload the whole game. this is after going through comparing my files, and checking download, it gets to the stage of actually downloading data.
I am not missing data, i was playing the game 24 hours ago and downloaded the patch. 22GB have not gone missing in that time, there should not be that many gaps to fill.

I'm having the exact same problem, and also played the game just fine last night. Not interested in redownloading. Wanted to play some tonight before I went off to bed. Sounds like I'm screwed.

I'm also getting fatal error 11, and it keeps crashing.
Repair just prompts to download the 22 gb, which I will not do.
I'm just gonna grab a beer and hope for the computer fairy to fix it in the meantime.

EDIT: This is the EU launcher if I may add.

I have the same problem as Zmanu. Fatal error 11. Repaired and DLed 20+ Gb 3x.

there is a repair option indeed but using it results in an additional 22GB download

Can't currently re-download the game due to the lack of downloads... So basically I'm paying for a game I can't play due to a bloody patch which is screwing quite a few people over.

Agreed. It'll take me atleast 24 hours to repair the client... -1 payed gaming time day...

The issue is I can't repair the client without re-downloading it at this point, and it's almost a week until my downloads refresh.. so yes, I'm hoping a patch is released while I sleep otherwise I'm not going to be a happy customer.

I don`t think re-downloading the game will help us to enter the game. Hope they `ll fix this 11 error asap

They told in another topic, that we should REPAIR the installation, what = re-download everything... and it has 80kB/s... it will be 2 weeks to download 60 gb...

The Repair function is scanning the entire installation but it would only download the files that are missing. Therefore if you see a progression bar going to 0% to 100%, it's normal. Error 11 is usually fixed by a reparation so please give it a try and wait til the end of the scan. If the patch wasn't applied correctly, the repair will download and fix the missing or corrupted parts.

After the initial phase of scanning my hd the client want to download 23GB, the entire game.

It doesn't seems only "some" file are missing.

Should i try a DVD installation?

The issue is after verifying and whatnot the launcher insists on downloading the whole game again, not a single missing fragment. Unless, of course, the game itself is now corrupt which would be due to the patch itself. Either way, I'm still in the same situation as before where I have to wait a week before re-downloading the client... As I'm in Australia and the internet here makes most gamers cry due to caps and all that jazz.

Can we expect a fix of sorts or do we have to waste money re-downloading the game due to bad coding (and in my case days of subscription due to waiting for my downloads to refresh)?

Yes. It is downloading - the repair function - the whole game again, from the beginning and it has approx 80 kb/s speed... So, what else can we do to finish it faster?!

It finished the Verifying approx 23GB, then Checking download and after that it started to download everything from the beginning...

Do i have 20+ GB of missing or corrupt files? Cause the repair is trying to download that much...

I paid 100$ for this in Imperial edition and another 15$ of first sub.
