looks like what is happening is our characters are getting stuck in the game... oddly though mine gave a "black screen" on logout BEFORE the maintenance.. and i noticed i couldn't log in today..

BTW i would suggest canceling your subscription, that is the best way to send a message.. even if you don't plan on quitting long term, show them your POed... after 5 hours of not getting in i figured that is more than long enough to wait and canceled for now...

obviously our character are getting stuck in the game, if anyone has noticed the error messages you get "login time out" and then "301 you can wait 10-20 minutes between the time out and no matter WHAT next error is 301, then you get login time out, then 301 again... over and over in that order even if you cancel the login try and don't see time out.. next message is 301.. looks like what is happening is the 1st login attempt is getting stuck (trying to boot out your character) and then you get the 301 by default..

ok.. i just got in.. when i was getting the error not 5 minutes before, but i did something different this login try.. i put my password in, hit cancel on login box, put password in again, hit cancel, then on 3rd time putting my password in i left it running and bam.. got in a few seconds after it popped up.. COULD be totally coincidental.. but...???

Unsubbed, 18 hours since i could log in. Was having a great weekend till this..

Furthermore i don't think customer service is rubbish. I get quick replys to any ticket i have filed and they do try and help. Since this problem is currently in a minority and without obvious reason it will take time to find the solution. Which is a shame because if no one could log in it would get fixed so damn fast.

Hello

Since early this morning I got this problem.

I wonder if there is a connection between that and what happened last night.

Last night I was playing pvp in Cyrodiil and got kicked out from pvp to character selection screen and couldn't log on back on to my character in pvp.

I logged on to my alt and wrote a ticket where I asked to be moved out of pvp.
A short while after that I was moved out of pvp and I could log on to my character as normal. I stopped playing then and did other stuff and was gonna log on to get my hirelings mats this morning but couldn't log on due to
Error Code 301:3:1:1229:90098

So I wonder if there is a connection with pvp got stuck for me and the error code?
Anyone got the same issue with first being kicked out of pvp and then this problem?

frustrating is getting stuck in the side of a poorly made mountain and having to pay 146G to get unstuck, not being able to log in is clearly more then frustrating. I honestly have no idea how you can have so many subs locked out from a silly error, restart servers don't roll back as players who are online only lose there progress.

Personally the server reboot/maintenance fixed me, which is nice.. but it still took approx 84 hours.. which I probably won't get a credit for.

I was fine after the patch and the mini patch even, it possibly can't be my computer like they keep implying cause one minute I am playing fine and the next nothing but timeout error.

ZOS is a POS tbh. They can't get anything right. I responded with my wallet. No more sub.

Also, this is by far worse than my experience in SWTOR. And that's saying A LOT.

Odd when I logged out Sunday night I got a black screen as well. Then after maintenance nothing but 301. Get any kind of ungraceful logout from game and 301 hits you. 28 hrs and counting.

I have not really heard anything other than normal PC side troubleshooting... but the only thing that fixed my issue was the server being rebooted/maintenance outage. This issue seems (at least right now) very much game server side - locking our characters in after a bad crash or odd event.

Same problem, it happened to me first on Sunday afternoon, after many hours of playing in the morning with no issues. I timed out and have had the error ever since. I am A+ and Net+ Certified computer technician with many years of IT experience and this problem is definitely on the ZOS server. I have repaired, re-installed, reset router, modem, deleted the cache files, removed all addons, etc., etc.

My GF who lives overseas can log into the NA server just fine on her client, but not to my account, same error. I can log into her account from my computer, but not mine. It is clearly not a local problem. ZOS please get this fixed. It seems to me like the server thinks I am still logged in or for some reason it is not allowing my account to connect based off of a permission. Could be on the account itself or something like a router that wigged out. Hopefully this is fixed soon, two full days with no ESO is wearing me down.

Nevermind the countless bugs, and anoying lagg in the game, I still love ESO. But give me a bit time more that I cant login and I'm sure gonna uninstall it.

I got my error after the breaker at my house flipped and the power went off suddenly. Was anyone else that got the 301 error logged out suddenly also? Wonder if that is what causes the problem and it is something with the server not recognizing the drop because it was so suddenly. Because my router or internet connection is on the same breaker and it went out also at the same time. Any other similar cases as this?

Yes - anybody can actually recreate the problem by killing ESO.exe at key times (eg loading). Your account will be rendered unplayable on any PC after that.

It looks like infrastructure changes during 1.1.2 introduced the problem. Zenimax haven't even briefed their customer service team about it apparently since each 301 error ticket seems to have clueless responses about other things. And there's no communication about it on the website, support site or support forum announcements (unless you look under General Discussion, for some reason). My guess is subscribers will start to dump the game over this, and rightly so: Zenimax are ignoring their monthly paying customers who can't even log in.
