Question as a non-native English speaker: How clear is the focus on leisure? My native language also knows the word "excursion" (though written slightly differently), but it has a strong focus on the aspect of education (in English that would basically be a "field trip") and science (closest in English would probably be "research expedition" - in the real world that would mean: Exploring a yet unknown region, charting it, researching the geography, animals and plants of the region, etc). Historically (17th/18th century), it was also used for short war campaign.

What I'm trying to make sense of is if the usage of "excursion zone" hints more on some short, more or less "guided" storyline through the place, or if the focus is exploration, which would hint as a bigger zone.

While I'd also have prefered a well-designed chapter with a well-written story, I think we need to be realistic: Quality was dropping from year to year, the writing got worse, which to me simply looks like they just can't keep that standard anymore - creating that much content a year while keeping a good quality. So considering that, I'm fine with smaller zones and storylines though I'm still sceptical if the quality will improve or not.

We do get new lorebooks in the Night Market, by the way. There are new characters around. The two stories in summer, the High Seas event, the Sages Vault, and the new Favor and Rumour systems will probably also introduce new locations, npcs and possibly lorebooks. It's different to how the zones were, of course. But it's not nothing at all.

It sucks liking fantasy games and being a biologist at the same time, some creature designs are either too cartoony or miss small things (proportion/detail-wise) that would make a huge difference, immersion speaking. But that's just me I guess. I've already told my feedback, I hope it's heard. Werewolves don't always need to have "Monsters Design Tropes".

Zerith was gloriously written. After the trajectory that ESO's writing has been on, it's nice to see that there are still some lines that they can knock it out of the park.

I actually have an entire character idea specifically because Zerith got me interested in that part of the lore.

Garrus Sharp is still my ride-or-die, and Basti is my bro back home, but it felt really good to bring Zerith along. I hope that the next set of Companions we get (pls new Classes!) will be much more along the Zerith side in terms of story as opposed to the Tanlorin side.

I may update this when we get the full Update 50 patch notes, but going off of the Update 42 Patch Notes and the Werewolf Update thread for Update 50, here is my current ranking of the werewolf puns. I chose 7 puns from each, so see if you can recognize which comes from where!

Overall, I'm lycan these puns a lot. I maul for them. I know that I was a bit bitter about them during Update 42, especially the joke about Terrified helping you mark your prey (when it actually has no visual indicator in-game), but I'm glad the devs are having fun with these. Howl about that!

And while it may be a Criminal Act to become a Werewolf, rumor has it that lycanthropy can be spread with just claws, fangfully. I hope this infectious humor will have you all howling!

Yeah not going to get worked up over pixels in a video game that primarily revolves around *killing pixels*. There are quests that tell us to kill and outright murder people. Savage werewolfs slaughtering villagers. Vampires draining their victims of blood. Torture. Slavery. Theft. Crazed cults sucking our souls out. An *ongoing war* that we are encouraged to directly participate in.

Not to mention, the game has numerous provisioning items and furnishing items *made of* parts of critters. Some of the armor our characters wear is made of their fur.

Livestock and hunting and fishing and the like are... pretty normal things in a medieval fantasy world. If one doesn't want to kill critters, one can certainly avoid doing so.

Personally I'll continue to play the game my way (where every one of my characters has a story and different motivations and acts differently - one is a vegan bosmer, another is a sneaky hunter, another is a noble paladin who tries to do no harm, one is an evil vampire, while another is a thief - it's fantasy folks. I am actually none of these things in real life.) and try to save my moral outrage for actual issues IRL.

I will say that it's unfortunate that zos introduced this task in a bugged state and I'm looking forward to it being fixed so folks can move into some of the instanced areas and the overland slaughter can calm down a bit (but this will also happen naturally as the I MUST FINISH THIS TASK RIGHT NOW crowd starts to finish).

Praying Dibella and not Sheogorath helps the Vestige with their pickup lines for the new flirts.

The fluff on the side of the face definitely does make the fluff on top of the head look better and less like a mohawk.
