Man, it’s wild to think this game is turning 12 years old.
Last year I wrote an open letter about being a player since the ESO beta, about how disappointed I was with the direction the game was taking and all that. Now, I’d like to write another letter. A thank you.
ZOS, ESO is a game that changed my life. I met so many people I love, but I also lived through so many stories I love. I must have over fifteen thousand hours in this game, and I don’t regret a single one of them. Thank you so much for making Tamriel evolve. Truly.
I’d also like to congratulate the team: it really feels like all the feedback I gave is being addressed. The new unmarked quests coming in, more engaging puzzle systems, optional difficulty, a more dynamic release model, an adventure that isn’t stuck in a simple pattern. I genuinely appreciate the work you’ve been doing.
A lot of people ask me, “why do you translate ESO into Portuguese for free, when it’s over 10 million words and so exhausting?”
Because I love this game. I love this world. And the shift in communication and direction you’ve taken this year reminded me of that.
And yeah, this is a lighter post, no criticism or hate. Just this: thank you for these 12 years, ZOS.
