The Cimmerian strode into the merchant’s tent, bronzed and lithe, hair shorn about his chain mailed shoulders, the dust of a hundred battles upon him, a heavy purse at his side.
“I have tomes,” he said. “Show me wares worthy of them.”
The merchant bowed low, smiling thinly. “Indeed, mighty warrior. Behold—potions in abundance, trinkets of curious charm, and garments most colourful. Perhaps a hat? Or a steed that glitters with light and sheds butterflies as it runs?”
Conan’s brow darkened, his blue barbarian eyes glittering coldly.
“By Crom, I have no need of baubles,” he growled. “Show me blades, relics—things of worth.”
The merchant spread his hands. “This is what we have. And what we have shall not change for many moons. Spend now, great lord… for your coin will not endure.”
A long silence followed.
The Cimmerian looked upon the wares, his gaze searching for meaning among the glittering trifles, then upon the merchant.
The merchant’s smile widened. “Of course… terms and conditions apply. what you don't spend by seasons end will turn to dust, well except for 2000 tomes”
Conan’s eyes narrowed, a slow fire kindling within them. "swindler" he cursed.
From beneath the counter, the merchant produced a parchment—covered edge to edge in tiny, cramped script—and began to unfurl it.
A low, dangerous sound rumbled in the Cimmerian’s chest.
At last, with a growl of disgust, he turned away, stalking toward the doorway like a panther denied its prey.
“Keep your trinkets,” he said, cold fury simmering in his voice. “I will spend my coin where it has meaning.”
And the merchant, left smiling in his tent of shining baubles, wondered why no warriors came.
*A warrior should feel his effort has meaning. At present, the Tomes do not offer that.*
The Season Zero tome has two Bonus pages that don't seem to function any differently than if they had just been named Page 11 and Page 12.
In FO76, there's a similar system where the bonus pages differ inasmuch as the things there are repeatedly purchasable, but that doesn't seem to be the case here, which makes this very strange. What's the point of the bonus pages, or is there something yet to be revealed about them? Would be very cool to repeatedly purchase the Crown Crates towards the end of the season, especially since anyone tackling all the challenges consistently will have an excess of Tome Points that they can't carry forward.
You pulled a fast one and thought not mentioning this would not cause players to notice?
You failed to inform players especially ESO plus members that our tome points including those from caches didn't last forever but instead end at the end of the season.
We cannot bring the cached tome points with us into the next season because we are limited to 2k. Why is there a limit to begin with? What is the issue with giving people currency they can keep? Eventually we will spend it all on things we want as the seasons change anyway so why not give us the points we get from caches and allow us to keep them?
Why are you trying to cheat ESO member players out of a paid service we give you real money for each month? These are cosmetic and house items, they don't change the outcome of the gameplay they are for entertainment, so why limit them and also why keep this information from the public?
