Yea whenever I see anything that Brian Wheeler, Rich Lambert, or other developers post or say, I'm reminded that I should probably let ESO go for good. They just have such different design philosophies and visions for the game than what I'm wanting out of it.
We'll see how Vengeance goes, but it's probably time to completely move on unless there's a leadership shakeup.
I get the setup can get to overpowered, so people doesn't want to play the game.
But I don't really feel that we are close to that problem.
So many had a lot of fun with the subclass arcanist, and there has always been a favorite class in ESO (at least in the five years I have played). People really took the possibilities in subclassing and ran with them - a clear sign that this game has some very dedicated players.
That must count for something.
It was mentioned on the forums. We’ve been told they did it on reddit because reddit makes threads of conversation much easier to follow, which to be fair, is true.
Only for popular posts, though. The others get buried.
Why are any discussions related to ESO taking place anywhere other than the dedicated forum for such discussions?
Good grief! Were they trying to hide this discussion from us or something by putting it on reddit and not even telling people there was a discussion going on there? I'm on the list to get announcements and advertising and got no heads up about this.
Yea this is just going to contribute more to the demographic shift. At some point only the most casual of the casual players will play and they are very often exclusively solo players. Everyone else is being neglected and not listened to. The ultra casual audience is enough to keep ESO alive imo.
Even as of now though, there's not much of a reason to do multiplayer activities. PvP in its current state is not fun for almost anybody. It's very unbalanced and all PvP environments have very little quality PvP in them. As far as PvE goes, it's probably pretty hard to find a group for most things. Even if you do the gameplay is boring. Beam rotations are very slow and easy. Damage is so high that most content is a joke.
This has all been years and years in the making. They have so much stuff to fix, but less gets done each year. I'm still interested in what will happen with Vengeance, but otherwise I don't expect anything anymore.
I'm happy for you, and I'm also glad to see at least one post describing a positive dungeon pug experience. Frankly, we could use more of these.
Somehow obviously though, it drowned in the ocean of complaints on this forum. It's like ESO forum dwellers don't even know anymore how to respond to a post where someone shares having an awesome experience in the game and being able to make new friends. Kinda sad.
Orcs aren't barbarians for the sake of being barbarians, they (and I'm being very broad here because there's also plenty that don't fit in with this) are outcasts because they've literally been cursed to be pariahs. Everyone looks down on them and exaggerates their barbarity; that's the entire point. Play through Orsinium and you'll see this isn't the case at all. Orsimer, like most TES races, intentionally try to push the boundaries of the stereotypical version of their race from fantasy (e.g., Wood Elves being strict carnivores/cannibals rather than peaceful vegetarian tree people).
Orcs don't wander around in tribes with a "might is right" mindset because they want to. They do so because they literally cannot form a lasting empire - Orsinium is always doomed to fall.
In times when they are able to band together, they build incredibly sophisticated societies with rich culture, order, and social hierarchies.
Not to mention in TES canon, they're some of the finest crafters around. You also have plenty of notable examples of intellectual Orcs throughout the game, like the Gourmet or Urag gro-Shub.
