Best queued dungeon group EVER!

I queued up for one of the specific dungeons for the new Golden Pursuits. We did a fast run and I asked if the others wanted to run more of those. Well 2 players left but the other player and I queued together and got paired with 2 more players who were also doing these. The four of us had a lot of fun going from dungeon to dungeon and I have never had a pug group click like the 4 of us did. So not only did we complete all the dungeons, we ended up with 3 new friends each! It was awesome!

I'm happy for you, and I'm also glad to see at least one post describing a positive dungeon pug experience. Frankly, we could use more of these.

Somehow obviously though, it drowned in the ocean of complaints on this forum. It's like ESO forum dwellers don't even know anymore how to respond to a post where someone shares having an awesome experience in the game and being able to make new friends. Kinda sad.

It really was fun. We chatted the whole time and even took a short break to tour a couple of our houses.

I just wanted to show that it is possible to have a good pug experience.

It is definitely possible. I only use group finder for dungeons and most of the time it is a good run and "activity complete" in a reasonable amount of time. I was even able to achieve some vet DLC hard modes with pugs while farming class scraps from the daily rnd.

I'm preparing for tanking for tickets, and your experience is encouraging. Hopefully more players will be in good spirits during this Undaunted Celebration.

Since so many of my longer term gaming pals have moved on from ESO (sad face) I often run PUG trials and dungeons. I can’t be bothered with Vet these days but most of my Norm PUG experiences have been pretty damn good!

When it’s working (hehehe) the group finder is actually a really useful tool.

Those are great groups! I had some guys who were random help me level my sorc that way. You should remain friends.

I have had many good runs, also plenty more than bad runs. It's been a while since I spent time on dungeons, but I met many fantastic people to friend and talk to sometimes, or do content with. I've also met people who did stuff I thought was wrong or stupid, and most of those are happy with receiving advice (or accommodate me), if I go about it nicely and if they are newer players, helping out also goes a long way to make someone feel welcome, and as a bonus I get to know so many different people and find out that I can easily share a sense of humor with people from everywhere.

Bad runs happen from time to time, but I remember better the exceptionally good ones. Sometimes getting a toxic player in a pug can brighten my day too. One time there was this dd in a vet CoA2; it’s a pretty long dungeon and smth triggered them just before the final boss. They began to scream at me to stop using my pvp skills for tanking. It was so hilarious that none of us bothered to explain that this is how I buff their damage. That happened some years ago, but it still makes me chuckle.

First run today had a real tank, but the other dps was fake tank and aggroed the bosses so real tank left. I was feeling bad for them.

Next run was an a group with at least 100 cp each but at least one seemed to be doing the quest. Real tank, real healer, tank was waiting for those who were doing quest. I took off my Ring of the Pale Order, which I always slot for randoms, and let the healer do their job.

It was a nice run, wish they could all be like that. Thanks to you all if you’re reading this.

I've seen you often on the forums 'Silver Bride' and I now get to tell you how much I love your forum name. I noticed one of your comments on what you do each day as a veteran player and woah you do very similar activities to myself. Twins lol. I love this comment you left here cos it has heart...this is what I love about eso. Every now and then you meet a group of random players that you click with and bond with and even make friends with.

I guess the spirit of this thing is to remind us that in spite of complaints making up the majority of the forum, that does not mean the majority of the playtime is spent feeling down about the various issues (although sometimes that will be the case). The reason we complain is that we care enough to wish for changes and improvements.
But with dungeon runs there's a new thread about fake roles regularly - mind you, fake roles can absolutely present a problem - and though it is a real issue sometimes, it still doesn't happen more than the good experiences in runs - so thanks for also taking initiative to talk about the truly awesome experiences.
I have so mamy of those in eso through meeting fantastic people. I am not always in a good place (mostly since my house burned down, and other disasters like a long illness and loved people suddenly dying). But those great experiences that often arise because of people, I share with really funny, genuine or nice people and they are extra important because they remind me of how good people actually can be, and how good I can be, and it just warms and gives much needed hope.

It's really the best when this happens. I like when I get in for my first pledge and at the end someone asks if the group just wants to get all the pledges done. Then you part and never see them again. Peak dungeon finder. I'm not a fan of pugs for anything but normal dungeons and maybe trials so I've only experienced this in rnd's but it's great when it happens.

When this happens to me, after I make sure the boss is getting taunted and not because losing aggro is part of its mechanics, I just stand in place, watching as that one kites the thing all over the place, the second DD runs after them in circles trying to kill the thing, and the poor healer has to do the same. xD Cue the Yakety Sax tune in.

It's entertaining enough that it takes some of the sting away from having to queue with people who know nothing of group dynamics, run ahead dragging every mob behind them, die constantly, and then stand there not knowing how to open a door or force the boss to spawn. Is it too hard to admit they don't know and ask for some tips?

I agree.
Forum is also meant for bringing up issues, like fake roles, which is a real problem, one that is persistent and very annoying indeed.
So there’s nothing wrong with coming here to complain.
It becomes a problem when players only ever post about negative experiences with either the game or the devs. That projects a picture of a game broken beyond hope which simply isn’t true.
We should have more courage to share our great experiences here as well, to encourage newcomers and to break this vicious circle of negativity.

Glad you had a good PUG experience!

Today two of the golden pursuit dungeons came up as daily undaunted pledges, so I queued for those on normal as a DPS. And both PUG runs were good, everyone participated in the boss fights, no one got upset and rage quit. And the queue times were not too long, I ended up finishing the second Solstice daily (world boss and delve) after I was done with both of the dungeons.

It's highly uncommon for me to have a bad experience in pug groups. Maybe one in twenty turns out bad because of a bad apple for me.
