Radiant aura provides same stam rec buff as potions. Makes it kinda useless in my Point of view, sadly :(
That is why i use repetnance at least you get 10% stam rec+the drain.

Yes but potions have the initial gain. That makes them different in terms of use.
Radiant Aura was a guaranteed stamina-buff for the whole group, making us real supporters beside healing. This is history in 1.6.
Repentence is good in PvE, or in organized PvP-raids (where you "kill sth. every few seconds").
In casual / small group pvp and I know many Templars like to play this way, Repentence is not needed at all.

I just calculated damage per ultimate point. Did I make a mistake or is crecent sweep the hardest hitting ult in the game now only overshadowed by shooting star as soon as 5 or more targets are hit? Sure, the utility is quite low which makes the comparison somewhat lackluster but for pure dps on a singel target bossfight, I think this might be the ult of your choice, now

Shooting star does about 60k dmg/cast
    Crecent sweep around 17k dmg/cast.

What are your calculations? Why would you think Sweep > Shootingstar? >.>

    I am sry for doublepost

used pure coeff values from a table that is probably out of date.
didn't check ingame. in that table shooting start did less than twice the damage of crecent sweep (all DOT ticks combined, front targets for crecent)

That, taking into account that it has a DoT tick attached, just looking at the numbers DoTs usually add up to be equal to or more than a raw flat attack. That said when I was on the PTS a little while back Flawless Dawnbreaker had both a higher initial hit and DoT, plus it upped my weapon damage for having it equipped (possibly why it hit harder ironically).

The differences in the two however lead me to believe that Crescent Sweep was built more for a defensive or AoE situation where a tank would need to maintain constant attacks to keep aggro on multiple enemies, with Empowering being even more tank friendly, and FDB was built for a more offensive purpose, increasing weapon damage and hitting slightly harder than Crescent Sweep.

Alas I could also be completely wrong and/or full of ***, so we shall see.

EDIT* Nope, not full of it. I went and made a character on the PTS via the templates and simply being naked with no stats invested, nothing on, and no CP invested, it's painfully apparent that Crescent Sweep may be cheaper in cost BUT hits for far less damage. However there is great merit in it's use as a tanking ability.

Havent worn any gear on these pics.

Shooting star does more dmg than the other two. Ofcourse it is more expensive that is true. If you use 1x shootingstart you could theoretically use 2,66x Sweep, but you have to activate it more.

    1*19484=19494(Shootingstar with 192 ulti)
2,666*6436=17119 (Sweep if it had 192 ulti)
2*6331=12662 (Flawless if it had 192 ulti)

Rate of fire is a reaaaaaal big deal in these things, hence the existence of burst damage and DoTs, and the fact that DoTs can crit. However I think I forgot that Sweeps can proc Burning Light. In addition to the immense damage difference and of course rate of fire (for a templar 96 Ulti is all FDB costs) charges and shoots pretty damn fast, and of course the same goes for Sweeps.

At the end of the day, the best way to test this.........Is in a live fire exercise!

Which ain't happening till this goes live because god damn it I'm getting real tired of having to remake and regear constantly lol
