It also doesn't help that if more than 12 folk are farming at the same Delve boss or dolmen boss only the top 12 dps get the loot XD

But yeah I agree. It's feeling like stuff isn't dropping as intended. Like yeah it's dropping for some folk? But it's such a rare and low rate that not everyone is going to get a chance to get anything from this event

I don’t get this. Ravens and owls can’t hover in place like a hummingbird. It’s incredibly distracting, too. Not as bad as the flapping, giant twilight but a close second.

They can glide when flying and it would have been nice to see them land and hop a bit if you were standing still. No variation I think is the problem (at least for me).

Oh wow, I had no idea, I was wondering if it's some PTS leftover bug. I have the worst RNG in ESO so this is wild. I guess I can no longer complain about my luck.

Problem is (I think) that Witches Festival is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) ESO's in-game event. And it really shows. It originally started in 2016 and over the years, ZOS was adding new stuff each year... and it all stacks on top of each other. At some point they added "gold" plunder skulls, but even that was not enough so they added another version of those (Crow & Jack bosses).

The event itself is overgrown to te "unhealthy" level. There is just too much stuff to do and it all takes too much time (a resource that is not made out of rubber) and is not rewarding at all due to RNG & loot tablets still giving you old stuff that you already have. It is kinda like trying to get a weapon set before stuff was curated, but with limited amounts of attempts per day. To add more, due to some weird design choice - regular plunder skulls (the basic OG ones) have literally "zero" meaning since they drop only old junk. So you would think that the "most recent" ones gold boxes would have almost guaranteed chance to drop new stuff... but no.

This event so far feels more like a celebration of luck, trading guilds & "legal" gold selling (buying event stuff for RL Crown currency & selling everything you farmed for gold).

This event needs an overhaul.

There's a very low chance that the Hollowjack or Crow skulls could be a jackpot with a lot of stuff, including all the new stuff, Congrats!

Drop rate on these is bad and you are constantly getting drops from other things you've already collected because there is no curation on the skulls. Pretty sure if you get a drop from another collectible it starts a timer, so you're hit both ways with it.

I've received nothing so far. No style pages, no feathers. But I'm not too bothered by it. I get the plunder skulls for doing what I'd normally do (I did crow and hollowjack once for the achievement and won't do them again). If I get anything good, great, if not, doesn't matter. I won't use the pet anyway, and I don't use styles.

But you don't have to do any of it. I'm not farming for any of this stuff. After doing crow and hollowjack once for the achievement, they're both on ignore.

I actually think the witches event is one of the better ones. It has unique quests (beyond the ones that kick off an event by having you talk to someone and that's it). Unless you never enter a delve or dungeon or arena or trial or anything, you get skulls just by playing. The RNG sucks for a lot of us, but that's ESO. If you want decent/fair RNG, you're playing the wrong game.

I've opened 25 gold skulls so far and got 0 owl feathers

I was hoping to be able to spend all my excess tickets on ruby torchfly sparkles or whatever they're called but we'll see how that goes

i do Event on 4 accounts.
after 3 days and opening in summary about 50 golden skulls on each of PC servers:
PC/NA - 7 feathers
PC/EU - 0 feathers
also new style pages drop rate is also sad

I got 6 the first day and didn't pay much attention exactly where. So far no more though I have killed many a boss. My understanding from reading is that they don't act very owl-like, more like one of the ravens that flaps around all the time.

I guess with today being Saturday the drop`s are super rare. I have ran Dolmen`s 20-25 times, Dungeons 8 times, World Bosses 7 times and no feather. Don`t know what to type so I`m just reporting, at a loss.

It’s just way to much way to bad rng in the game. I m just fed up with it at this point. And it didn’t encourage me to stay in the game longer or play longer , if that’s what’s ZOS hoped to do with it , it’s straight up the opposite tbh

After running Dolmens, Dungeons, WB`s and Public Dungeons for 6-7hrs I just gave up and bought the Feathers. I didn`t want the owl, I wanted the free Mummy costume that you get from the achievement. I probably got 40-50 plunders and not one feather today so there ESO I still got what I wanted. I`m thinking with the amount of gamers that were on today was the problem.

So far I have found two feathers and three new style pages in 4 days. Not sure if I can make the 10 feathers during this witches fest, probably making me miss out on the skin.

Today I looted my gold plunder boxes from yesterday (after I had gotten a duplicate of the new style page, I stopped opening them) and got a horned owl feather in four of them, one after the other. So now I have five in total.

RNG needs to be overhauled because that is just unfair. I fully expect not to get anymore for the remainder of the event now of course.

I have also noted that there are some very kind souls who are putting their horned owl feathers up for sale at very good prices, only for the flippers to come along and buy them all up. Oh the joys of human greed... er nature.

And the Jesters Daedroth onesie. Unless it's something awesome, I accept that I will get stuff like this on the second year. Maybe.

The owl would be as annoying as the crow as a pet to have out with its constant flap flap, and the mummy outfit looks like it'd be fun for three days, then I'd never use it again. ToT cured me of any achievo hunting, so that doesn't matter to me either. After years of missing it, I finally bought the coven cottage, and now don't know what to do with it. It won't replace Cliffshade for Wayshrine access, or Auld Velothi for style.

Meh. I'll probably sell my horned owl feathers and buy some odd motifs with the earnings.

Is this confirmed by Zos? As some here have claimed they got feathers from purple ones.
