I have found that drop rates are either too low (see this year's unique style page farm) or too high ( see last year's anniversary style page farm the mech spider)

About 20 boxes so are - roughly half gold/half purple. Two horned owl feathers.

Absolutely agree. I've gotten one feather, none of the possessed shards (I missed the event last year), but goodness me I have tons of glenmoril style pages and treasure maps and dremora motif pages. And none of the new style pages.

Editing to add: my Crowborne Horror gold skull today had a blue witches writ, a green treasure, and some insect parts. That's purple skull loot, in a gold box. It makes it very frustrating to have SUCH a low drop rate on the new stuff, especially since those only seem to come out of the gold boxes.

Got every golden box except for trial one yesterday & today, so 18 golden boxes... no feathers so far. I am not sure at this point if I am on some kind of "no drop" black list or maybe there is some trick I need to do 1st. Like do I need to active the whistle or something for the RNG to better ? Idk...

So this looks like another "sovereign sow". After three years of New Life I still only have 4 of the seven pieces. This one takes 10, if it's also meant to take years I'm just not interested.

From what the article states, it sounds like the Horned Owl feathers only drop from golden boxes, not purple ones.

Slightly disappointing really because there's little reason to farm purple plunder skulls unless you want the rare recipes, and the 3m cooldown on purple plunder skulls is already annoying itself.

Two accounts, two days, every Golden Skull on both, except for Trial one, three feathers total, three new style pages and way, way, way too much "old" stuff!!

Those Glenmoril pages should've been in the Grab Bags this year, possibly all the blue furnishing plans too!

Old stuff from the plunders should just stop to drop for someone that have already that would help a lot imo. I get lot of old stuff inc. stylepages but only one new stylepage and one feather 🪶 so far and I farms a lot really a lot of the skulls. And the eso rng system is by far the worst I ever meet in a game , ones you drowning in drops an on the other occasion you get close to nothing. It’s not really motivating to this over and over again when rng can make your fun so miserable. There should be be something in between. We had this problems in various events this year and it is something the devs should consider to do something about . Oc only my opinion

I don’t get this. Ravens and owls can’t hover in place like a hummingbird. It’s incredibly distracting, too. Not as bad as the flapping, giant twilight but a close second.

An additional annoyance with this drop rate is that you need the achievement of getting ten feathers in order to get the “free” mummy costume from the crown store.

I just got all 10 feathers and all style pages from the Lord Hallowjack plunder skull. I soloed it both yesterday and today, so I'm not sure why today's rewards look insane.

Yeah, some of the stuff like the dremora style sheets should just go to the event achievement sellers where those who want to have it can buy it with gold after having done a basic event related achievemen.
