    How about this:

    NO MORE COMPANIONS.

What a ridiculous thing they even installed into the game. You can't make friends to quest with? These things are essentially pets. You've made a pet build.

How about a renegade Sea Elf (Maormer) ?
During the afternoon of Loredas, 6 Sun’s Dawn 2e578 a big piece of Aetherius fell to Nirn. It was the first major piece of Aetherius to fall on Nirn in more than five hundred years. It scattered around the world as millions of shards. It was rapidly documented by Lady Cinnabar of Taneth in her pamphlet Aetherial Fragments that "... when three shards meet, they re-form into a silvery prism by unknown process and confer the power unlocked by the merger to a nearby being." The Order of the Black Worm, commonly known as the Worm Cult, reappeared in Tamriel shortly thereafter and some of its members are avidly searching said shards.
In the last week of First Seed 2e579, an arcane explosion occurred in the Imperial City — a night of storms, and trembling terrain. They named it the "Soulburst". That day Emperor Varen Aquilarios disappeared without a trace. His wife, Clivia Tharn, ascended to the Ruby Throne as Empress Regent under the guidance of the Necromancer Mannimarco. Ushering a time of increased instability within the Empire of Cyrodiil which finally grew into “The Three Banners War”.

Sarcasm? Maybe killing spiders and centipedes is what Breton knights are usually doing.

NPC followers are a staple of the Elder Scrolls franchise. While this is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, it's also an Elder Scrolls game. Thus, we have the ability to travel and quest with real players and our NPC followers at the same time.

Nope, because I don't want to inconvience them when I decide halfway through a dungeon that I am done for the day, or I have to suddenly quit in the middle of a dolmen run, or I just get bored and suddenly start chasing after chests instead of the world bosses we were meant to be doing.

My companions don't care. People who group up with me absolutely would if it keeps happening multiple times.

This is one reason why I don't tend to do the dungeons that require grouping, or will be getting past arc one on IA, because they take too long and require an actual player to help you (most of the time) and I don't have the attention span most of the time.

Nothing, we have enough for my taste. Please put budget into something else, like a nice new treasure hunt for example. Could be one like the music intruments, give to the poor, museum pieces, .... whatever of that type.

Stopping development on the Companions system does not mean those resources will get put into other aspects of the game. I'd rather we keep getting new Companions with the current content release schedule than not receive Companions with the current content release schedule.

Less forced inclusivity/diversity and more focus on making the companion actually useful, and with a personality that doesn't irritate me after 15 minutes.

Some things that would make a companion useful?

Targeted resource finding = lets say you want to find more runestones, you select X companion who has an eye for Runestones, and then the companion gives you audio ques that they see a runestone node, and maybe highlights the resource for you so that you can see it from further away.

Situational behavior = if I'm going stealth and sneaking around, I should be able to tell my companion to go into stealth, sneak around, and not agro ANYTHING unless I attack it.

Improved Harvest yield/refining = having a certain companion out should improve my efficiency for harvesting resources so I get a bonus amount or give me a better chance at getting gold mats when refining.

    Things like that.

They also need companion sets that help them be more combat effective than they currently are because overall, they're pretty "meh" in that department.

I really can't understand why we can't use helms and hats on companions. I really hope it gets fixed soon.

The main reason I never buy costumes it's because the the hats and helms never work. And I only would care about costumes for companions. This could be so nice to use on a companion, but not without the hat:

Please: Fix hats and helms for companions in 2025. It would be also nice if we could change the hair style and color and also remove facial tattoos.

its not "broken" per se, its an intentional thing that the devs have done because according to them adding any kind of hat or helmet will too drastically change the companions identity

and yes its about as bad as them not even adding a way to bypass the intro for companions on alt characters if you dont want to run it for the 20th time

This is kind of hard to understand in a supposedly role play game. I understand and agree that they should be able to create an identity base for the companions, but identity is much more than a face and shouldn't be a condition to their overall look. The game would be richer if we were allowed to have more aesthetic role play and diversity with the companions. Also, if the devs find the companion faces so important (I don't, after seeing a million clones everywhere) they could just have an automation to remove the helmets when we're interacting with them, like what happens with our own characters with helmets when we use a crafting station. So, if that's true, it's a really bad excuse. I still prefer to believe that it's something broken or forgotten. Makes more sense to me.

    My wish list:
I want a dog companion like fallout 4s dogmeat

I want hats and helms for companions.

I want companions to be able to store companion gear.

i think a majority of players are on that same page lol (including myself), there is no real reason we shouldnt be allowed to put headgear on a companion

but thats how the devs responded to that kind of question on the companion Q&A that was done sometime last year, so at least for now they are unlikely to change their stance on it

It isn't hard to understand in a role playing game. It would be more appropriate for them to wear what ZOS wants them to wear than what we want them to wear. They are just "adoring fans" that are tagging along for no pay wearing scraps that happen to be found along the way by someone. In any case, they should have their own identity and pick their own clothes. That would be more like an NPC.

So, what we have is that they are not a role playing game NPC. They are, in fact, our dress up doll that also fights when we do. Sometimes, when we don't. They have no identity but what we tell them it is and the only freedom they have is to disapprove when we do things like eat cheese or pick the wings off butterflies. They should wear helmets, and the player should be able to hide or not hide it, as the player sees fit.
