Just be like the other players in this skit and walk on by. Let players show off their shinies, as I said previously, some people like to flex their stuff and they specifically pay for certain things to show off.

The thing that bothers me is that people seem to believe that crass and glowy somehow equals quality. They could also sell the most hideous and glowy mounts in the cheap reward section of the box and many people wouldn't even look at them twice, because they are really nothing special. Many just like having something that others do not have. I think a nice and credible mount in the apex section would do just as fine as one of these glowing abominations. Just spend the extra time making an actually coherent mount that doesn't just fit one particular look. The look needs to be versatile, yet grounded, clean, yet intricate. There is no reason why the designers should have to put their best efforts into flashy stuff. Clearly there is a demand for well done subtle things.

Lol, they can stand there and flex in whatever they want to wear, or not wear (I feel like I’ve seen more characters running around in underwear of late — must have been a witch), so long as they don’t drop meteors, anchors, or other obtrusive nonsense on my screen!
While personally, I would rather ZOS have never made such things, it makes them money and makes some players happy, so I would simply like to toggle off such effects on my own screen. I’ll still see your uber radiant apex mount; it doesn’t need to cause a seismic event for everyone else. As for recalls, well, you were leaving anyway.

I say let them have their fun.

I'm more of an old school role player when it comes to gear/mounts/pets.
But I LOVE how this game offers so much variation that everyone can find something they like.

There are so many extremely bright and saturated flashes of light plus explosions of sound, people, myself included obviously, get headaches, migraines, nausea, eye pain etc.
Which has never been an issue with Elder Scrolls before, earlier ESO included. Such things was always more subtle and had a certain consistency to match the rest of the world.

Exactly this. I wish there would be a toggle for people with photosensitivity or who are prone to migraines, or similar conditions caused by flashing. Could be considered an accessibility feature.
So many times rolling away then people mount up on Cyrodil resources.SilverBride wrote: »We need a toggle to turn off the flashes of light and loud noises if we choose.

I really don't think that will ever happen because the entire point is to show off.

I don't know what players think they are showing off. When I see a player riding one of these loud and flashy mounts it triggers a negative opinion in my mind, not the admiration they think they are getting.
Players should not be forced to tolerate things that are irritants to them just because another player wants attention.
What ZOS is trying to do is provide options for everyone who wants to wants to design characters in a way that suits them, and I think we can agree they do that well. But I'm sure they also believe that if a player is going to pay for something with real money (or loyalty reward currency) that allows them to stand out visually, that is considered a prestige item, meaning that player expects other players to see it. So that's why I doubt a toggle for those visuals will ever become a reality.
Should it have gotten as over the top as it is now? I agree with you that it shouldn't have, but if people are buying them and using them, then ZOS is doing their job. They're serving a demand and making money to keep the game running.

I don't know how anyone could possibly look at the newest 4 armed glowing banana mount and find it prestigious. These types of mounts are eyesores and completely destroy any chance of taking the story, and the game, seriously now.
If others manage to capture other's attention they need to know that it's far from the attention they think they are getting.
Turning this game into a cartoon may actually be the thing that does it in.
