    Yes
I would normally have vacillated between no and other, I don't care about the flashy stuff, but I have a friend that has reactions to it.... but this is not why I picked "Yes" this time...

I just put Banner Bearer on a trial toon, the sound it makes is so loud I have a problem hearing anything else... I tried turning down some of the sound sliders, but nothing seems to help... perhaps just cut the volume down by half or more, loud enough to remind you it's on but not so loud that you can't hear anything else...

oh, and a toggle to disable the extra flashy stuff... "Yes, I am impressed with your mount, now go away."
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

It is not fair to expect players that do not like the loud bright flashy effects to have to use a low graphic setting and have their entire game look bad rather than providing a toggle.

The real solution, though, is to just stop with the cartoon effects. This new mount is so far over the top it makes me cringe to think what's next.

They aren't cartoon effects. They are explicitly magical effects, lore wise. And I don't think it's fair to stop making them just because some users don't like them.

Nobody is calling for an end to realistic mounts.

The low graphic setting mode would have more benefits than hiding the way other people look. I doubt that the devs would put in time creating a toggle purely to hide art a user doesn't like. But, if they can do that while addressing other issues like accessibility and performance, then they'd be more likely to implement it.

    This. Completly this.

Another reason why Zenimax would not want to hide the effects of these mounts because some will want to get the mount when they see it. If Zenimax permitted us to hide such things then it is reasonable to expect a decrease in revenue.

That is probably not good for business and job security, and business people make decisions like this.

Well then Zenimax needs to add toggles for the users who cannot see them because they just overlay all effects and make the eyes stressed!
So many ppl asked for that, e.g. sorcerers lightning effects already.

It's okay if the ones that buy it can see it at their screen but it's not okay that ppl who suffer from them MUST see those :-(
My eyes are okay but even I feel they get stresssed a lot meanwhile by that many green arcanist effects and all the other bright or flashing things. A way to make that instatnly stop (keybinding that turns down overall effects e.g.) would be such a relief for many players, making them return to the game they love(d), which again is a benefit to Zenimax! See it that way.

    win-win
