I also want to say thank you to all the positive comments we get. I do understand the people that can see this as a boasting thread, but please do know that's not the intention. Thank you once again for all the kind words, means the world!
For any jokes I make (calling you all nerds) or complaints I have with how ZOS can't make content which isn't beaten in the first hour, I've always had respect for the skill of Hodor's members and the help you've given the community.
The members I've met or played with have always been respectful and encouraging even if I wasn't playing at their level.

Love for the Love Wizard (and fellow Hodor members)

Managed to slide in a pretty good run today, to secure the worlds first 100k score in blackrose prison! Goodjob to the entire team!

    Question.

Is not naming and shaming supposed to be prohibited?

Why can you do it without closing the thread?

Because it's not naming and shaming? It's naming an congratulating?

    1) you're showing off your e-pen on a forum; a place where people come to discuss bugs, balance, builds, and general questions. Rarely ever do you get someone in here bragging about a leaderboard score unless they are one of you clowns in Hodor who think the forum community care. In essence, you're pitching to the wrong audience. Go post your achievement on youtube or something where people might care.

    2) you're boasting about an achievement to an audience filled mostly of casual players, in a game with literally no competitive scene or future, about a dungeon which you had a month at least to master before everyone else.

    That's me done.

Before everyone else? You do realize the PTS is open-access, yes?

Now this is a much more humble and relatable way of talking. Want your "bragging" to be seeing as "sharing and celebrating"? Keep this tone to your posts and mostly everyone will recognize it was a nice achievement. Giving salty answers to people criticizing you doesn't help.

I appreciate the change in attitude more than the achievement itself, since elite players tend to never come down of their golden pedestal of might.

Humility helps new and unskilled players feel like engaging in these threads is a good and welcome thing to do, boosting interest and motivation to improve. Like someone said before me, lots of you guys do lots for the community in general, but staying humble is what validates the help, otherwise sharing feels like charity and that's not fun.

And on top of all things, as they say, you do you, and this is a general thread post and you're most definitely free to post whatever you want within the rules, so feel free to also ignore me and all that. :)

Love Wizard lives off of salty tears...

You’re confusing saltiness with a general disinterest in blowharding. Aggrandize yourself and your guild to, you know, people who will better validate your accomplishments—like your guildmates, teammates or people close to you. Expecting a mob of complete strangers to care about something that you’ve practiced on the PTS for weeks upon weeks isn’t fair to yourself or others. It’s not sincere or genuine. It’s literally fishing for attention. And do be careful: you rarely get the attention you want when crying for it online.

Do Hodor post their learning runs? Or just the ‘flawless’ stuff? Because the former might generate them more goodwill than the latter. Just a suggestion.

I don't mean to start a bonfire here or any means, but who are you to tell me why I can't share my achievements? People keep coming up to me giving me *** for not sharing our addons, giving me *** for not sharing our tactics, and giving me *** for not sharing my builds anymore. If you don't care, why do you even open this thread? There's no reason to drag other people down just because you're not having a good day. Spread positivity and joy, not hate and negativity.

Never said you couldn’t share your ‘achievements’ (lol, a med school degree is an achievement, not this imo), though it’s rather presumptuous of you to assume that people will care, no? Nothing negative or hateful about indifference and if you think there is, then you’ve been coddled most of your life.

I am free to open any thread I want that I think warrants discussion, criticism, debate. Just as you’re free to start them, inviting the same. You posted this because you wanted public accolades, now you’re trying to control the type of feedback, tone-policing (as if people aren’t allowed to criticize or question your supreme authority) and attention you’re receiving. You don’t get to do that. You put something out in the world and people respond to it, good or bad. That’s just life, fellah.

Don't get me wrong, I don't get bothered by the negative feedback. Im just curious as to why people come to this thread, just to belittle our achievement, and insult us. I get that people can be ***, thats life. I just don't understand why you have to be one. But you're completely right, you're allowed to post whatever you want on this thread, as long as it's within the forum rules. At the end of the day, I think you have to remember this is a game, we play this for fun. I don't mean to be offensive, but it seems like you're taking it a little bit too serious.

Grats on your high score, really well done, but your responses here kind of belittle yourself.

@Peekachu99's responses, while probably not the kind you were looking for, were worded well, and brought their point across in a civilized manner (also judging on the amount of "agrees" they got, they aren't alone in their view). You could have ignored these responses labeling them as one of your "haters" (which is a little self-aggrandizing in its own way really), but instead you responded with ad hominem and just all around bad form.

You can't say "I don't mean to be offensive" and call someone a "***" (whichever swear word that was meant to be) in the same paragraph. "I don't mean to be offensive" isn't a disclaimer that suddenly enables you to be outright offensive and not suffer the consequences.

I don't have a bone to pick with you or Hodor (I've only heard of your guild by name and that's it) but just wanted to point out that moving forward, if negative responses (and sentiments) isn't what you want, not posting straight up insults and calling people asinine names who have merely disagreed with you in a civilized manner would be a step in the right direction.

    Either way, grats again.

Haha. Yeah, anytime someone starts off with a, “I’m not trying to be rude...”, you can guarantee the next thing that comes out of their mouth will be derogatory. I still stand behind my initial assertion that if Hodor posted more of their foibles and less of their “glory moments” people would be far more receptive to their posts. But when all you post is “we’re the best” vids, it naturally invites scepticism and a measure of critical examination. The reactionary and passive aggressive tone Love Wizard seems to take when his vids are subjected to scrutiny does him no favours, too.

Right, I don't usually think giving people like you attention is a good idea, but for once I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Lets start of with Alcast, hes been in Hodor for more than four years, and has been creating builds, tutorials for everything ESO related since, forever. https://alcasthq.com/

Then we have myself, I haven't done that much youtube stuff, but I did write two big guides back in the day, and spent countless of hours helping people out to become better at the class they love so much.
    https://tamrielfoundry.com/articles/pvewhips-n-chains-the-naughty-version-of-magicka/
    https://tamrielfoundry.com/articles/pve-magicka-dps-by-iwm/

Then we have Liko, the guy who sits on PTS day and night to test things, and to give people a strong idea in terms of how minmax balance will be the next upcoming patch.
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuLGCNYH1t5DyQQ5tfU4Hdw

Andy.s also released a blackrose prison addon, to help people. https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info2181-BlackrosePrisonHelper.html

The list goes on, and on, and on. More or less everyone who is in the guild at todays date has been contributing in some shape, way or form. Whetever it be to create content for people who want a pointer, whetever it might to display how to play a bossfight, whetever it be to spend countless of hours sitting and responding to questions from people, or helping out less experienced guilds in their raids. So if I myself want to make a forum thread, about something that I do find worthy of being called an achievement then I will. But I really wish some people in this thread could stop using me and my guildmates as scapegoats, just because Zenimax doesn't balance the game you want them to when we have done so much for the community.

Lmfao they'd get eaten alive on any other game that has competitive esports.

Let us not forget, they specialise in fighting opponents without a human mind. We never see any "world's first" PVP achievements now do we ;)

There will probably not ever be a "world's first" in PvP because ZOS doesn't care about PvP.

@Love Wizard I hope you guys are not sad because of all the hate in this thread. The crybabies in here are not upset because of your #1 score, they are upset because they are not able to clear the content on their own ;-)
    Keep going !

I know, it doesn't affect me but I know some of my guildmates does feel down when they read comments like these. We will keep going as we've always done, but I wish people could stop using us as scapegoats for their issues with the balancing issues this game has.

“I usually don’t respond to people like you...”

Responds three times and counting, each time progressively less obscure with his insults. The respect with which you see yourself and your contributions is staggering considering how you talk to myself and others. You make it sound as if ZOS wouldn’t function without your and your guild’s most necessary input, when in reality, they would continue making content and tuning it how they want (see the Class Rep situation). What you see as a contribution, others see as unnecessary tampering and suggestions to an already cluttered development plate. No one is blaming you or using you as scapegoats for any of ZOS’s perceived failings, though when you put yourself forth as the advocate of them and a champion of the people, you should realize that you don’t speak for either ZOS or the rest of us, and you should further realize why people would perceive you in that role.

Also, why can't the OP be happy for an obviously amazing achievement…? If I were to post a score like that (which I'm sure will never happen) I would be freaking ecstatic! I read no boastfulness just delight, plain and simple... lets congratulate our fellow community players more often, IMO!

No extra prizes for a good score. There’s a dye, furnishing, and title for a normal completion, there’s a skin, furnishing, and title for a veteran completion, and a title for a veteran hm speed survivor completion.

Idk about PC EU. On PC NA I don’t think anybody’s gotten god of the gauntlet yet, so our scores aren’t this high. But there are several wardens on the leaderboards.

    Congratulations!

I personally don't understand why some people react so salty. This is an amazing achievement, and certainly a very difficult one to get. I can imagine a lot of hard work was put into it (including figuring out the mechanics, coming up with the tactics, practicing it, figuring out the abilities, developing the addons that helped with practicing the tactics...)

It's not something that can be just done in a day, or in a weekend, no matter how good someone is. Especially as they did it without a guide at hand... they _wrote_ the guide for the rest of us.

Pretty sure the forum isn't ment for bug reports only. It's about community, getting to know what's going on. Players on NA for example, don't see the EU leaderboard ingame. If it's valid to post about 100k or not, I don't know. For me it's just a number, but I don't see the problem in posting a brag post either. They did sit and practice on a laggy pts, and dedicate a lot of time doing this.

This is not a fair argument. AFAIK console players don't have murkmire on live server yet. So they have more serious reasons why whey can't have an achievement like this.

No its done over the PTS,over 5 all the practice so when it does go live they complete the content within the hour and think its some sort of bragging right, it's not.

You're missing the point. I don't mind where and when they were practicing. The thing is, there are plenty of players out there using Alcast builds, managing to pull decent dps on a dummy. Yet, even by following their guides and tutorial videos, not many can pull their vAS+2 or vCR+3 high scores. They have all the dps, they have the guides, they have all the addons now.

Managed to slide in a pretty good run today, to secure the worlds first 100k score in blackrose prison! Goodjob to the entire team!
I'm curious what amount of time it took your team to complete it and how many wipes? I was watching (not without some satisfaction) Alcast dying a lot there from one-shot mechanics, but he tried it with 16k hp sorc.

So they had 5 weeks of practice on PTS. Would it be fair comparison if someone on console will get a similar score in 6-7 weeks from release?

Probably still not a fair comparison, given console performance problems, lack of addons, and the fact that using controllers is a bit different in terms of camera control and movement than using a keyboard and a mouse.

So better not compare apples to oranges.

There's more teamwork in it than you are willing to acknowledge.

I mean, to give my point of view when it comes to this entire PTS fiesta. For starters, we were one of the only groups submitting feedback on blackrose prison, there were alot of bugs in the PTS version which ZoS QA testers weren't able to identify, that was squashed on live. If the ZoS QA team actually can properly test new content before it hits live, sure there's no reason for the PTS for endgame content, but the problem is they can't for the moment being. The best time of my raiding progress over the years was easily MoL, which was super bugged on PTS with alot of crashes, so it was really hard to progress, and it ended up taking Beyond Infinity Animals (Unchained Animals) 6 months to get the first vMoL HM clear. An absolute insane race.

But you are very right in trials requiring teamwork, in Cloudrest for example we all have our different roles to fullfill and without the system we have right now it would simply be a chaotic mess. This also goes for all the trials obviously, but I feel Cloudrest is the most demanding one.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread, and other Hodor acclaims, always coming to a similar conclusion to @Peekachu99, where you've posted these "World's First" threads seeking validation, praise and lauding and it comes off very pretentiously, very boastful and with egregious braggadocio, whether or not that was the purpose.

I can respect the fact that you all take the time to learn the mechanics of new content, post guides, post builds and (not sure if y'all have a hand in it) help update Raid Notifier. Persistence and a willingness to learn is a commendable thing, but these posts always seem to be used as a way to have random people stroke your e-peens. But it is partially the top tier end-game PvE guilds that are to blame for changes to the game, as you can complete the brand new, within a couple hours of going live, content.

As has been stated before, you can adapt with ease, but the more casual base, mind you the majority of the game, cannot, at least not as quickly. Recent dungeons (Moonhunter DLC) and trials, I have noticed have a lot of either tickle damage or OHKs. You are not to blame for that, but ZOS in creating artificial difficulty, in an attempt to stifle such rapid, perfect (ND, HM, SR) runs.

At this point, it can be forever assumed that, so long as Hodor is in the game and ZOS releases new content, Hodor will always have "World's First" "Hard Mode, Speed Run, No Death" (what I just refer to as "perfect" runs) to all Dungeons, all Trials, all Arenas. I cannot compete with you on this, nor do I want to, but the constant fact that you'll keep posting it on the forums, again said, a public place where different views can be posted, but for what true reason? Having accomplishments posted serves only to grow ego and has no other purpose. There are many people that have posted congratulatory messages, but also those that willingly defend you when someone points out that not everybody cares about it.

Hopefully you'll learn from this and be more humble in the future, as that's seems to be the biggest problem; posting "we're #1" and letting random people stroke your e-peen till you nut.

Edit: I have had friends get their skins, get Gryphon Heart and other difficult to acquire titles and I congratulate them because I care about them, but I haven't seen them post these in the forums though to try and garner attention from random people.

We play for fun. Let me post how much fun we are having.

But the PTS isn't open access is it? Before anyone else ;)

The PTS is open access though. Literally everyone on PC can download it (and console users dont count for this race because they have their own "world first" race generally)

also, im in 5 very active guilds and ive only seen 1 group of guys try and find enough teammates to attempt blackrose prison, there and in zone chat as well. Its not because its hard, its just mechanics you gotta learn, its the weapons. I did the first 2 stages on vet with a good team then a dps and healer had to leave to do other in game stuff so its just not a priority for many players other then, as in this post, being first at something. So with little competition comes small achievements.

Give us some weapons we can use or make some that we have already a little better so we can use them. Yes im salty i have countless maelstrom and masters weapons that are just crap but i'm shocked they put out a new arena with even more crap to farm for (yes i know 1 or 2 of them can be used in some situations but for the most part... crap weapons).

ahhh i feel better now :)

I really dislike how raiding culture in ESO has changed for the worse, where achievements by people that contribute more to the community than anyone else ever will are ridiculed rather than seen as a triumph by the whole community (because clears like these are the exact type of material that are used in guides to less dedicated players have a chance of clearing content like this)
