Yeah, this thread was SO great. OP started it off really well with his anecdotal evidence of Sribes doing 60k dps with 7 different attacks in one second against Hzarn, definitively proving that heavy armor is worthless. Also, he can hit heavy armor targets with a 10k incap in Azura's star, if you were wondering.
Other people claiming "Heavy armor has no synergies with block" and a whole bunch of other misinformation has been in this thread like Mauls ignoring a flat 13,200 physical resistance. There's a video of a console NB killing a Templar Empress in a 1v1 as proof that heavy armor is bad. This thread is awful. 1/3 anecdotal evidence & feelings, 1/3 arguing about basic math, and 1/3 discussion of heavy armor on a magicka sorc. THIS is a good thread?

Sorry for bringing numbers to a thread, might be a little too complicated for you. Maybe I should just join the others and scream as loud as I can about how I FEEL the game is, so ZOS can balance based on my feelings (like they usually do), since that has worked sooo so well up to this point.

Your problem is that instead of applying the tooltip "50%" to enemy armor as you should, you are flatly subtracting it from the %protection value the enemy armor provides.

Remember the tooltip is applied to enemy armor not to the mitigation value the armor provides.

@Yiko I am not even lying about the incap in Azura's star. It is not anecdotal evidence. Now as for the guy with 60k health he killed that guy so quickly it was difficult to tell if he was attacking him by himself. The amount of damage that he was pulling off was insane. His health bar should not have dropped so quickly even if it was 2 people attacking at once.

I will say this again. My incap does hit for that amount. Would you like to know why? Because you have no CP in that campaign you have 0 damage mitigation from hardy and elemental defender. I can still hit like a truck even though I have 0 points into mighty. I will post a picture when I duel my friend in that campaign again later today.

People usually have 20-25% in might or elemental expert.
And around 15-20% in elemental defender or hardy.

So technically you should be doing like 5-10% just based off cp loss.

The reason your hitting so high is because your either a high dmg build, a ganker or semi ganker or your friend has no impen.

Maul does not give 13k penetration.

It gives penetration equivalent to 20% of the target's current armor, as stated in the passive tooltip.

For example, if the target has 10k armor, you get 2k penetration.
If the target has 20k armor, you get 4k penetration.

The constitution passive is garbage. Do not call it overpowered. I just read my tool tip for my magplar with 5 heavy 2 light and it is only 930 stamina and magicka every 4 seconds. I thought it was at least 1500. But no, it's 1500 with black rose. Black rose is a garbage set for a magicka templar. Kags for life. You miss out on spell damage, recovery, and magicka which means less dps as a magplar. I am not going to lie. I wear heavy armor because I don't want to get melted in 4 hits. I have good sustain and good recovery with this setup. I never run out of magicka.

Your seeing numbers and not thinking about them

930 mag and stam every 4s is the equivilant of 435 magicka AND stamina recovery from 1 passive. You don't need to spec into regen for it, it works through block, mist form etc...

It's very strong.

There are better sets than kags to be be honest.

Well we should stop talking about heavy armor in general and start talking about heavy armor on stam users and heavy armor on magicka users. You are right, on a magplar heavy armor causes much less trouble than on stamina and the main reason for this is, that stamina has one race which is overperforming (hello Adrenaline Rush) and a CP passive which is also overperforming (hello Unchained). On top of that heavy armor gives also a lot magicka sustain and Sorc, Dk and Nightblade can actually spend their magicka to get more stamina back (Dark Deal, Igneous Shield and Siphoning Attacks) while managing magicka on a medium armor build is way more difficult. The final point is, that you can sustain on stamina with Redguard, Unchained and heavy armor, which allows you to completely stack into offensive stats, which allows you to deal crazy amounts of damage and become even more tanky because of crazy amounts of healing.

By the way, I believe that constitution is a bit overrated and that the passive with 50% more ressources from heavy attacks causes much more trouble (templars dont get too much benefit from that because they run around with dual wield and snb most of the time while stamina can recover their mainstats by just heavy attacking).
My suggestion would be that ZOS should bring Redguards in line with other races and nerf Unchained or give magicka a similar passive and give medium and light armor actually a bit love to make them worth using again instead of nerfing heavy armor to oblivion.

@leepalmer95 Kags is the best setup for my build. I really do enjoy this armor set out of every other armor set that I can choose from for a magplar. Yes, there are armor sets that suit YOUR play style but MY play style is endless regen, good damage, and good sustain over health.

You are so freaking clueless about the constitution passive. I can't even go to the convenient store and buy a carton of milk with 930 regen every four seconds. You just need to stop trying to prove that it is overpowered. This ability was not "buffed" and if you are one of those templars that is using black rose, please just stop commenting on this thread.
