Proc sets are ruining PVP

I noticed this as well and I'm actually playing less and less. After this campaign ends I will likely take a break to see if things change.

It is one thing to have enchant procs but another thing entirely to have sets procs which can also be stacked to boot.

Outcomes in PvP are now determined by RNG chance which is just sad which is why a lot of PvPrs aren't playing anymore.
When PvP is determined by random chance it can no longer be considered player vs player.

I'm considering returning to GW2 as my competitive PvP MMO game of choice.

You "PvP only people" think that PvP requires so much skill and everything and always say that PvE is face roll easy. Yet, those PvPer when they do a pledge they are dead most of the time or spamming Dizzy Swing on a boss doing around 15k DPS.

Both PvP and PvE require different things. PvE can be considered easier once you've learned the mechanics. But its not like PvP is extremely hard either. In both situations if you are a good player, then you won't struggle most of the time.

It is brain-dead easy. I completed Vmaelstrom arena 4 times now in under 2 hours with my PvP build characters. Wasn't this supposed to be hard content? Vdsa is also easy ones you know how to fight the last boss, the only thing that can be challenging is playing veteran trails with very new players. This is coming from a PvP player, and I ain't that good either.

LMAO this fits the current meta perfectly... and it also fits the previous one sadly, with people only running out to attack when they had DBOS up, which is basically like an armor proc but with more control... now its just been scaled to a whole new level where you don't have to run behind a wall and regen your ulti before you charge back out to use your 'proc' ultimate because your gear does all the fighting for you YAYYYY!!

Just roll the anti proctard build like a MagPlar in Reactive, Transmutation and Malubeth. They will attack you, notice how you barely take any damage and dodgeroll to the horizon.

Yep. Well, technically just make them short duration. For some reason minor protection (8% damage reduction) is only 15s, but 30% healing taken lasts the full 46s

"When you take damage from an enemy proc, you have a 10% chance to proc a proc that causes the next proc to hit you to proc meteor that does 30k damage."

That'll show those proc set users!

PvP is not even 50 and it needs a colonoscopy. I've taken a break. Unsubscribed just after my 6 month subscription proc'd though. I was so excited about 1T that I changed it to 6 months. What a whammy. Really bad timing on that one.

It's too bad they put in the proc sets because there are a lot of cool sets that don't use procs. There could have been a lot of really fun builds.

Agreed. Shame they ruined pvp and fun combat by giving ppl proccs. PvP now stand for procc versus procc, not player versus player.

Thanks to the proc sets I have completely dropped PvP. I was never good at it but enjoyed it now its just about having the right gear and being a stamina build.

I used to be really bad at PvP, now I m still as bad as ever, but thx to my months of training how to LA+ransack+Bash I can now IK people with Tremorscale+Viper synced procs and last longer thanks to Black Rose .. thanks ZoS, you fixed the game for me and my friend, BoL spamming magPlar in Reactive + Malubeth.

We just need to train the run-around-tree skillz together a little more.

I saw a video of this guy (guy 1) demonstrating a few duels against this other guy (guy 2) don't remember his name, someone who claimed to be the best stam sorc in ESO or something. So yeah... basically you need the right pots, the right poisons, the right gear and you are a PvP god in you have at least some skill. Yeah pots and poisons both matter A LOT, just as much as the gear. So obviously the person who was claiming to be the the best stam sorc ever got his *** handed to him a number of times. Why? So apparently before guy 1 embraced the meta, he as running a normal medium armor build without all the OP stuff. Then he got rekt by the guy 2 a thousand times. Then he embraced the meta. Then he kicked ***. Simple as that. So yeah gear can turn a not-so-good player into the "best stam sorc ever". Gear should not determine the outcome of a duel. Not that guy 1 or guy 2 were striking me as amazingly good players, in fact it was more the other way round, they both seemed to be kinda bad.

Hmm I would not agree with thread title that update 12 sets ruining PvP. Black Rose, Red Mountain , Viper , Widowmaker , Velidreth those are all sets that was in the game since few months.

Proc meta sucks now people just use viper/tremor/widowmaker/velidreth....it doesn't take skill to proc everything at the same time....PvP kinda sucks now to be honest

Last time I had a decent fight was a week ago. Two blues at a farm. Believe it r not, no proccing. Usually it's unskilled mobs running around with Veildrieths, skora or whatever. Hurricane noob Stan sorcery are usually good to kill, just bash them and see what happens.
But overall, pvp is crap right now. Too many unskilled mobs mashing buttons and hiding in the pack.
