Yeah sorry I didn't think there would be too many people that would remember those but I should have included them.

I only got to enjoy Arena because Bethesda gave it away on their website a while ago.

    Damn I missed that.

You didn't! Both Daggerfall and Arena are still available for free download:
    Arena
    Daggerfall

It should be noted that both require the use of a DOS emulator. Unless, of course, you have an old DOS system you keep for this very reason. ;)

What? And you couldn't tell me this earlier? Oh boy are you in trouble now, I dare you to come to cyrodil just try it :P

I have nostalgic love for Oblivion but Skyrim is the latest and greatest, anyone who says otherwise is clearly living in memory and fails to notice how each game trumps the previous one.
Sure they remove stuff and change things that many of us disagree with but there's so much more they add and such a love put into these games that they're a day one buy for me.

I eagerly await the next TES. tes.gif

Up until recently my rating was Oblivion as my favourite, then Skyrim, then ESO, then Morrowind (mind you I love all of them, just some more than others.
Then I replayed Oblivion and... yeesh, it has NOT aged well. Oddly, I find Morrowind has aged a bit better than Oblivion.
Currently my ranking would be Skyrim, then ESO, then Oblivion, then Morrowind.
Though when it comes to a sense of nostalgia, Oblivion is always going to be my game of choice. Morrowind was my first TES, but Oblivion was the game that got me hooked on the series.

Oblivion is the only XBOX game I have ever completed including the DLCs for the achievements. I found this game very uplifting but I would have voted for Morrowind if it had not been for the dreadful Cliffracers. I hated those creatures and found them to be of nuisance value and far too prevalent.

Morrowind will always be my favorite game forever.
Also,Vvardenfell is the most amazing place I've ever played in. Yes,the graphics are dated, but there are so many mods for it that make it as beautiful as any other game.
I have so many reasons for still being in love with Morrowind that I just couldnt name them all.
Some are the great quests, the creatures and enemies. Then there is the landscape itself. And the amazing sounds and music.Just listening to the lowing of the Siltstriders makes me smile. Not to mention underwater quests, swimming, and gathering of clams and pearls.
There are so many mods for armor, content, faces, and bodies that it can be endless gameplay. People still create new mods for it all the time, and some of them are complete make overs.Plus the Skyrind project.
And I love those insane Cliffracers!!

    Oblivion
Oblivion by far and here's why:

    *Ragdoll physics
    *Funny moments with ragdoll physics
    *Sneaking
    *Archery
*Killing enemies with an enchanted bow, and watching the body fly

But for real, Oblivion had some of the most memorable moments for me. I remember running through the mythic dawn hideout and walking in on two guys. One of which was nude except the hood he was wearing and when I looted the body he was carrying nothing but a banana. Without pockets I can only wonder where he was holding it. And it always made made wonder afterwards how thoroughly the hero searches the bodies of the ones he kills.

morrowind will always hold a special place in my heart, but oblivion is my favorite

you had alot of freedom, classwise, in oblivion, but you also had to actually think about your class choices, that is a complexity that is unfortunately being phased out of the game industry as of late.

I loved the spells and enchantments in Morrowind. Levitate, Mark/Recall and the other teleport spells. I had an enchanted amulet that I could put on, then travel across Vvardenfel ... through the SKY.

I also loved how the devs hid stuff high up and in out-of-reach places to encourage you to use levitate to explore.

I loved the music. And the sunrises. And the moons/stars that were so lifelike.

    Morrowind

I must admit Morrowind was the first in the series I played fully I did have a go at Arena that a friend had, but I missed Daggerfall which I hear was really good too.

They should certainly update and redo some of the classic games.

Patiently waiting for Skywind (Morrowind in Skyrim engine) Besides Star Citizen, it's the only other game I am actually excited for.

Is this a real thing? Do we console plebs get it? C'mon Bethesda, take my damn money.

Real thing for PC only. Must own Morrowind and Skyrim for it to work.

/sadface Now I need to get a decent computer.

Yeah, like many of the attempts before it. I've yet to see one of these overhaul mods actually come to fruition. I wish it would though. But I don't hold much hope for it.

Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.

Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

This. Man, I remember this one cave that the Imperial Cult sent me to that just went up and up, and at the very top finding a sweet enchanted shirt. Or finding the Daedric pauldron way up the waterfall in the Mournhold Sewars. Good times.

Well, of the options given, I guess Oblivion is may favorite, second overall.

ESO would follow, then Skyrim. Arena and Morrowind round out the bottom, mainly because I didn't spend a lot of time in Morrowind. When I first got it, my dinky little Dell computer wouldn't run it. It did inspire my to start building my own computers so I could play the games I wanted. I built my first PC the same year Oblivion came out, so I only had a sort time with TES III. I remember finding it overall fun, but much more alien than II, with what seemed a much more simple combat system. IV brought back a lot of what I loved about the Elder Scrolls even as it did a lot to simplify the game mechanics. Something taken to the extreme in Skyrim.

    Morrowind
I started with Morrowind and just fell head-over-heels in love. The strange world, extremely imaginative art style, the sort of sci-fi-fantasy feel to it, it was just so magical and unique. And even though I never got to see the other provinces of The Empire, they were all richly described in the scattered in-game books. While modern TES games like ESO still do a pretty amazing job of it, getting more strongly back to some of that Weird is highly recommended from this player. Oh, that and playing with the vertical aspect of space/more hidden items. ESO actually follows most closely to this theme with there hidden bits of storytelling, like the scattered skeletons and all that. But coming from Morrowind and going to Oblivion was like night and day in terms of rewarding exploration. Skyrim was even worse.

In Morrowind there was a magic axe hidden in a hollow tree stump right outside the lighthouse of Seyda Neen. There was an adamantine helmet or gauntlet or something in a Mournhold dungeon that you would only see tucked into a corner if you turned back around as you wove your way through the delve. In every Daedric ruin there were chests and gems and potions and artifacts hidden out of sight of the ground-dwellers, all you had to do was fly... or jump REALLY well. But in Oblivion I only found a few gold pieces tucked into cracks in walls. In Skyrim I only found an ebony shield slightly a few feel way from the rails beaten path of the dungeon. And i guess those chests under the ice when you fought the two lake dragons in that one DLC. Not a whole lot else, though, to be honest.

They were ALL still wonderful games, but I feel like your first is always your baby and you are much more aware of its strengths and willing to forgive its weaknesses.

Morrowind spoiled me with a creation engine, deep lore, massive world, events, and mod-ability that I think would challenge Any modern game. Because of this...

Oblivion was to small and lacked content imo

Skyrim was too easy and lacked re-playability because it was just that. I had to add in my own limitations to make it remotly fun...and it was still missing alot for me. Like where was my chance to find awesome gear in dungeons like morrowind or highly valued treasures?
