Vicious Death set proccing early

Kind of what the title says. It seems like the Vicious Death set is proccing to early and is actually KILLING the player. I was in Cyrodiil and people were running this set and on MANY occasions Vicious Death was in my kill feed for 13-20K and there was no nearby allies to actually get hit from. A couple of people I was running with was having the same issue, they were not near ANY friendlies and they were low on HP and then Vicious proc'd on them and it actually killed them, basically making it like a 100% Proxy Det with out the magicka cost.

Can we get someone @ ZOS to look at this because it makes no sense.

Also, just before posting this I was getting jumped by 4 people, I roll dodge to dodge all single target attacks coming after me I then Shadowy Disguise to get away and I still get hit by every wrecking blow that was coming my way before the roll dodge, which makes no sense because I WAS INVISIBLE, am I going to have to start running invis pots to make this crap work or what?

    I can confirm, I've been killed on a few occasions with a 17k Vicious Death in my combat log, no other friendlies in sight.

    I'm unsure of the health threshold it's proccing at, but it seems to be around 3-4k. If the proc is damaging your own character, it's definitely not working as intended.

    It pops when your at 0 hp, it doesn't do dmg to you personally but it comes up as dmg. But at the point it goes off your either dead or at 1 hp or something but still shows up as you getting hit for the full dmg.

    It's the same as using radiant on someone, if there at around 500 hp and you hit them with it it'll do like 15k+, the dmg log will show the 15k dmg but in reality you only had 500 hp left and got hit for 500hp.

    @leepalmer95 When I noticed it killed me early I was at about 5K hp and I had a healing ward on me, and I check my combat log statistic addon and I calculated the amount I took in the last ~15 seconds or so and it shouldn't have been enough to kill me, I think it's bugged I'll have to see when I decide to play some more, see if it is killing me early, I'll try and record it.

    Friend of mine got killed by vicious death and he was solo, it was a 1v1 , working as intended?

    On my recap I had vicious death do 5k dmg and concealed weapon have the killing blow.
    Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

    I want some of the drugs the Zenimax combat design team is smoking, because they're either high as *** or just plain stupid.

    See THIS is why no one reports bugs because (i'm also assuming you're joking) there are people that will purposefully go and exploit these bugs. Hexus and his EP group were pretty much all running it and it was stupid the set drops WAY too fast now and it's a little OP. I mean 13-20K for a random dead body that most people wouldn't even see the damage coming...that's just stupid. It should wind up like Proxy det and have a red ring so you know to stay away. Right now it's just kind of "Oh I just randomly died...20K VICIOUS DEATH WTF WHERE?!?!?"

    Either way this set needs some nerfing or fixing.

    It wouldn't make a lot of sense if there was. Something like Valkyn Skoria would potentionally deal too much damage against a player without a cooldown. But Vicious Death doesn't do anything against one, it's whole point is to be a risk for players stacking up. Setting that on a GCD would be like implementing a cap on all AoE damage.

    At azura which lacks the lagg its even more clear to see how broken the vicious death is. i just could not bring myself to use it after realizing how many aldmeri i woulda have ended up killing even without even trying to kill them

    To put this into numbers:

    11,789 Health (56%)
    VD Explosion hits for 12,696
    Radiant Destruction hits for 5,358
    Dead

    What I dont understand is how you can get hit by 12,696 with 11,789 health and survive to take another 5,358 dmg from RD.

    If RD would hit you first (11,789 - 5,358 ) you would have 6431 (30,5%) Health left.
    And that means the VD explosion acted like an execute at 30,5% Health.

    Or it's a health bar desynchronization/lag issue. Seriously, how hard is it to find someone with a VD set and have them light attack/DoT you to death. If you pop at half health then there's a clear issue.

    The VD damage coming before the killing blow is not a good indicator of an issue. When I attack someone with a normal attack, the weapon enchant proc happens before the attack. It's just how triggered effects work in this game. Ditto with the magicka return from a killing blow with destro staff

    I'm not saying there isn't an issue, just that this video doesn't cut it as proof

    If you go through very slowly and do the math with his starting health and damage + healing from his recount addon, you will come to the conclusion that in this case it was a health bar de-sync.

    Starting around the 4-6 seconds mark his health bar is off by around 7000 from where it should be.

    I am not sure I believe the ZOS reply.

    Most of the deaths I have had today have been Vicious death in them. In fact the only high damage I seem to be hit with is prox det and vicous death. There simply isn't enough other damage to account for me dying.

    Seems like every NB and DK is now using this set its getting a bit annoying.

    Yup. The way death recap and some of the combat mechanics work in this game are rather unintuitive and the lag doesn't help. Desync is a major issue in any larger battle. If you die, you'll usually "ghost" for a few seconds before you fall over and stuff will not always be displayed in the order they actually happened on the server.

    Of course it could always be both, a bug with the set and one with death recap.

    I'm sorry but you may want to go look in on this. I've went from half health to zero from the Vicious death proc more times then I can count. If your not going to look at this please confirm so I can go slot this and exploit.
