15 GB Patch on PS4

Very true but if that's the case then they need to say so. If it is helping to build up to IC then give us a heads up. Just saying it's patches and fixes and after over a 3 hour downtime proceeded by a 15gb download it's not unreasonable for people to be upset. I don't know why developers do this, they have community managers, they have people put in place to deal with their fans, yet they NEVER respond, explain or help the situation. It's like they have a set list of 3 or 4 questions they are allowed to reply to and anything not on that list simply gets ignored. Which creates nothing but further aggravation.

This is not cumulative. Once the patch is installed, the patch files are deleted.

Also, the patch likely contains a lot more than what is included in the patch notes. The patch notes should be considered more of a highlights. They can also include future material for DLC and crown store in these patches so that they can be turned on at a later date without downloading more material.

Ahh so we are downloading future crown items so they can activate them without a download? Much like the lioness? Nice idea i guess.

Wish they did these updates at 1-2 in the morning so i can wake up to it pre installed, but meh.

@mikey27 Yeah, it's very likely. That's how people end up datamining on PC... because they sneak that stuff in before releasing it. XP potions were found weeks before release.. and that Senche Lioness? Pretty sure it was datamined back in March. lol

oh good more quests that will be broken to complain about!

also what kind of company leaves their entire playerbase in the dark about everything. once a day if we are lucky we get a dev response in the known bugs thread and its usually some[snip] about they are working on it. deal with it until its fixed.

I wouldnt return the game but i agree the psn servers are a joke i get 80mbps, no one else in my house is using it atm, on ps4 i get like 2-3.

On the ESO subreddits someone is saying it's a Sony issue that has effected other games too like The Witcher, Warframe Destiny.

Apparently it's a PS4 problem where a pack of all patches is pushed instead of just the latest one.

Sounds like it's not Zenimax's fault if so.

I have 160+Mbps, just checked it, all fine and I'm under 2Mbps right now updating on PSN, kinda wonder why I pay the premium, but then other games I buy download in a fraction of the time, its just one of those I guess

Mine has been going for 5 minutes and has 60min left, and I am in Australia which has notoriously slow speeds.

I get the frustration but there's not a lot one can do about it is there? The horse has well and truly bolted so, as we say in Australia, no point getting your knickers in a twist because they're already off!

Honestly though, I would have appreciated a heads up from the big Z before this one... My net can handle it but knowing about the 15gb would have been just good manners... It's like telling your friend that you're visiting them and then staying for 5 days and eating all their food.

So, in short: a) Stop the hate towards the big Z and b), Big Z, show some manners please and let us know before you drop an update on us that is massively inconvenient for some people...

Well I got a 15gb update also and an estimate time of 16 hours and that's with Virgin as well. Guess I won't be playing tonight then. However I get the option to play without network features not quite sure how that one works out lol.

Seriously why is this patch downloading so slow? I downloaded the entire game plus a 15g patch in 8 hours now it's saying 16 hours for this broken 15g abomination.

It doesn't lol I tried, however deleting update file and retrying has drastically improved my download speed from 9 hours to 1

Yeah its definitly a PS4 issue we are downloading the day one patch again. Patch here is just about 500mb like on xbone yesterday...
i already got same issues with war thunder ....

Put your ps4 into rest mode, speeds up downloads.

Absolute joke if this is an "incremental" patch then im out, no way does that patch list equal a 15gb patch espeically when thebone for xbo clocks in at 500mb want some answers now im just home from getting surgery on my foot and lookimg forward to a quick patch and go as how incremental patching should be.

Yeah i agree to that but zenimax wouldn't know how to communicate this to us correctly ither.
I think with all the broken promises and what not it has made them shy away or leave *Broad* responses.

Aaahh well left to guessing but i think i might be on the money with this one.

Or it's just psn been silly and my wishful thinking

DL time is climbing from 45 min, 3 hours, now 9 hours and climbing...

Wonder if a wrong patch went out and we should stop downloading? Xboners are saying they had a half gig dl?

PSN must be getting hammered with Planetside 2 release along with this 15 gig patch.

If it's more of an issue with Sony not splitting the patches from the original 15GB update file, then we should be mad at Sony, not really Zenimax. It's Sony who is doing the packaging of the patches I believe, not the big Z. I could be wrong but *shrug* having to wait a million hours sucks majorly.
