    Glad to see it's fixed; good work!

    It's sad that some people will not be pleased no matter what you do. I hope the whiners actually quit and not just tease, I'm tired of seeing their complaining.

    Finally!
    It works, my FPS almost as good as before (40-50 with rare drops to 25-30). PvP is playable again.

    Great news!

    Now that PvP is out of the way (went from 3-5 fps to 20-ish in large sieges) I went out and tested PvE. Here are my findings (your mileage may vary):

    - No more invisi-mobs (previously, about 2/3 of my fights I just spammed AoE skills where I *thought* the mobs might be, including at Anchors);
    - No more skill lag, outgoing OR incoming (almost every single fight, I'd be struck by a ranged attack 5-10 seconds after the fight was over);
    - Architecture, furniture and NPCs seem to be loading much faster (I had lots of wall-less and floor-less banks before, and had to wait a couple of minutes for banker NPC to render);
    - Didn't have a single random loading screen while out and about.

    This pretty much solves all the issues I've been complaining about in the past few weeks (though I'd still love to have higher fps in PvP), so it's happy times!

    On the negative side, I ran across 3 chests that I couldn't lockpick, all in different areas in Bangkorai. I tried several times each, but the lockpicking UI was unresponsive: I'd click on a spring and nothing would happen. One of the times, another player came along and opened the chest, so the problem appears to be client-side. Other chests I found worked fine. All in all, I can live with this.

    Thanks to complains and quiters things usualy gets fixed way faster.
    I am against complaints about silly stuff like inventory management etc., but performance issue definetely justify complaining.

    Since many confirmed that latest fix helped I am sure that players will play more than complain now. When I get home and see it worked for me as well, I will only say that it took longer than it should have, but still I thank you for fix, resub and s*ut my mouth to enjoy the game as before :-)

    Would love to know the cause, as I'm curious. The game was just so much smoother this morning, even with sound on. Even seemed to be more responsive doing lockpicking, though that may be an illusion.

    Also noticed that there seemed to be more range and better discrimination on interacting with sacks and barrels and things. Much easier to click on a sack on a bookcase than it was pre-patch.

    Good news - in testing, I'm seeing pre-1.2 performance levels. I do find it alarming it took over 2 weeks to find the problem, but I'll take it.

    In the middle of large battle, defending a keep etc, the fps drop still exist, I have 18/22 fps with a good pc (amd 8350, 2x sapphire 7970, 16 mb ram) but the fps now go up again if you walk away ( before the patch fps were "blocked" to 5/10 and the only thing you could do was logout).

    Around and in low combat now the fps are good (50/60).

    This is better than before the last patch...much better ;)

    Sorry for my english xD

    We have identified the primary cause of the performance issues (FPS drops) that some of you have been experiencing since we released v1.2.3. This has been most noticeable in Cyrodiil, but also in PVE areas. We have pushed a client hotfix to the both North American and European megaservers. This hotfix will require you to log out of the game and patch before it is applied.

    We sincerely thank you for your patience as we work to improve game performance. Please let us know how the game plays for you after this hotfix.

    Thank you.

    Seeing that this post was made at 2:35am I know you guys have been working late on this and I just want to say thank you.

    @ZOS after the hotfix, my fps issues in Cyrodiil have definately improved.

    In the largest of Wabba-zergs I drop down to around 24ish (but never below 20), and as someone mentioned, once the heat of the battle dies out, I am back up to 80ish again - no need to relog!

    Looks like you're finally on the right track, although it was long coming.

    The game is playable again :)

    Maybe so, but when your billing cycle is every 4 weeks, and for 2 weeks of that the game was unplayable...

    2 weeks is a long time to wait for a fix on a game breaking issue. If it was fixed in a week, I would consider that "timely", 2 weeks is borderline unacceptable.

    Even if a DEV comes and told the 100% exact reasons, connected to X, with software Y, that didnt have support for T, created a problem with the F technology.

    I know a hell of a lot about these datacenter and what services they deliver. I wouldnt have the first clue what the dev would be talking about.

    We understand and respect the frustration in regards to the performance issues. We have our Engineering and QA teams currently working on tracking down and testing several things that we believe are contributing to the problem. This is a bit of a nebulous issue, as it has several contributing factors. Each time we nail down a contributing factor and fix it, we push that fix live. We promise to continue to keep you updated, and we do apologize that the issue is still persisting.

    This discussion has been closed by the moderators for whatever reason btw.

    And today you announce the final fix ?

    Well while i hope this is not another wrong promise and would be happy if it turns out to be true, it is very surprising. So what caused the problem ?
    Hopefully this became a useful learning experience for their software engineers and their QA team. Even if they just so happened to stumble upon the worst offending issues during refactoring, they can spin up an old client/server pair to detect the problem.

    It is definitively working for me. Ever since 1.2.4 patch PvE was unplayable for me. I hopped into the game just now, cruised through some zones and no lag or invisible mobs killing me, or npc appearing weeks after they should appear :)
    Good job guys!

    Timely could be a week, I didn't really say anything until this last Saturday when I was also having the same issues in PvE. You see by then my frustrations were over the limit. You relog every 5 minutes, can't swap weapons and all the other nonsense that was going on and about almost 2 weeks later you might even crack. The game became way more hassle and no fun whatsoever in both PvP and PvE for me. Now as I said people like me can leave but you will suffer for it because this isn't Skyrim and when enough people quit paying for it then you don't get updates and content additions ect. Maybe instead of calling people whiners you might want to check out what they are whining about and categorize them. This game breaker wasn't whining this was GAME BREAKING for a lot of us to the point where we couldn't play and please keep this BS that we should find something else to do, if the shoes were swapped I am sure you would also be screaming about it taking so long to fix something that was working before they broke it.

    What this does point out is they need a lot more quality testers to test this stuff before releasing it.

    Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.
