Just wanted to follow up on this after some investigations. There is a stability problem with the connection between DFW (North American datacenter) and FRA (European datacenter). FRA relies on that connection heavily to remain up and we're working with our provider to investigate and resolve the stability issues. So we know what the issue is and working to resolve it.
Why don’t you make the EU data center autonomous?

If the problem lies with arcanists, then any fixes need to be specifically focused on arcanists. Not gear that non arcanists also use. My non arcs use Velothi when I'm wanting to relax without weaving. Why should they be nerfed when the issue lies solely with arcanists and their skill lines/beam playstyle?
I'd also say that rather than nerf this or that, if the devs are happy with the power an arcanist has, then the focus should be on buffing up other less popular skill lines/gear etc so that arcanist skill lines are just one of many options.

Just wanted to say Thank You for actually providing some much requested insight.
While still frustrating to not have the game available to play, your explanation at least takes away some frustration of not knowing what is happening.

My vote is yes for the simple fact that they have nerfed "pure" classes to implement this. They even went a step further and nerfed most cool interactions subclassing would bring. The devs are tone deaf and dont listen to player feedback. Most of the end game community seem to know this game better than they do. After watching the PvP stream, it should be evident to all. The PTS exists simply to test stability of what they want to change, not get actual player feedback.

1. What to merge, the regions or platforms? If both EU & NA are merged, then depending on where the servers physically are located (Texas for NA, Germany for EU), most players are forced to deal with an increased latency (as if the OCE/SEA players don't have enough already). And are Sony and Microsoft willing to cooperate to make a platform merger possible (since MS basically refused to do that during the PS3/XB360 era)?
2. Shared character names on different accounts and servers. Who gets to keep the name, someone who had it longer or someone who manages to log in first, forcing the other player(s) to use a name change on their character(s)?
3. Shared guild names on different servers. There is no way to change the guild names without disbanding them.
4. Character cap for multi-platform players. Is doubling or tripling the limit a solution considering the many cuts (guild trader sale times, mail expiry times) they had to make to improve performance over the years?
5. Housing projects potentially getting erased if someone creates something in Grand Psijic Villa on one server, but completely different in the same house on another server.
My stance crossplay remains a hard NO ever since the PTS Planemeld happened and will not change.
