I agree that one way to handle the situation is to ignore all the stuff you don't want to do, but it's annoying how difficult the game makes it to do that.

I have multiple addons to remove or minimise unwanted notifications and pop-up text and other noise about things I'm not currently doing and even then there's a few steps to go through to clear stuff I don't want to know about so I can focus on actually playing the game. Which is especially frustrating for a game that was originally advertised as having a minimalist UI and "play the way you want" approach.

It also doesn't feel great when the choice offered is "you either do this now, on our schedule, or you don't do it at all". Yes players can make that choice, but it's very different to the system we had up until recently when the majority of things could be played on your own schedule and it was only occasional events which were time-limited.

You can learn to ignore it, you can accept you're going to miss out and that's ok, you can clear out the clutter and shut off the noise and learn to focus on what you're doing, but those are the kind of choices you make for something you have to get done, not something you're choosing (and paying) to do for fun.

As if killing 1000 enemies plus 100 bosses wasn't enough to keep up with, now there's a short term Golden Pursuit. No, neither of those things fit in MY normal play schedule.

I know it's not exactly what you're saying, but I do agree with the sentiment. Personally I think having only weekly challenges with large numbers that require me to manage chunking them out with no rewards until the end of the process, combined with the fact that the Tomes seem to have even less items available that align with most natural gameplay, make them feel more demanding and time consuming than than the previous daily challenges. I too have most of my play time dedicated to a single type of activity (though it is different than yours) and have found that the old daily challenges of "drink two drinks" or "gather six logs" feel way more accessible on most days of play.

It doesn't matter if it's spread out over three months if the activities still require going more out of your way than the other free rewards systems did. I've been on vacation for a week and the week before I wasn't able to play and I have no idea how much that's going to impact my ability to get enough Tome Points when I don't play a lot as it is.

If the short term golden pursuit has a unique reward that's likely never to return, I find that equally annoying as I can't log in right now.

I much prefer content that does not disappear so I can just work through it when I have time, whether that's weeks or months from now. It's why I have always been a subscriber.

So... I hear you.

I can't actually speak for the OP but I would say, for myself, it's not an issue of others getting rewards when I can't play so much as not being able to go get them later when I can play. I hate time bound stuff. Surprise XP events and quick pursuits that just reward currency are awesome... but one-time time bound content with unique collectibles.... not so much. It's no fun to see people running around with something cool and instead of knowing that you can go for the achievement or grab it when it comes around again, you look up the item and find you may have missed it forever. I'm STILL bitter that I missed claiming the free house during one of the effects because I hadn't realized ZOS switched from mail delivery to Crown Store claiming.

I'm all for fixing problems, but you are going to have a revolt on your hands if they shut the servers down for 1 week (not even going to touch the 2 week offer). And I will lead that revolt.

Forced grouping for activities such as this, optional or otherwise, isn't player friendly when the vast majority of the game is catered to a single player experience.

They got rid of it for this stupid test without having Greyhost as an alternative for us who don't want to participate in a time where Greyhost was doing exceptionally well, and on top of that the majority of these "veteran" pvp rewards they're introducing in the u50 are vengeance related and most pvp fans don't even like the game mode.

The focus going towards only Vengeance and the blatant disrespect and lack of care for the longtime fans that still play Greyhost is why I am personally pissed off. It definitely needs more work, I'd like cp enabled maybe. That was the biggest drawback. It was pretty impressive seeing hundreds of players at keeps and not having ping, major desyncs, or skill lag.

This is the average take and I agree with it.. the first night is always super fun.. huge fights..tons of siege battles...no lag...etc...

But do this for 4 nights straight... get zerged down endlessly... feel like you have zero impact in anything... it becomes stale by the end of night two IMO.

Despite all the chest pounding and boasting in this thread from the Vengeance fans, it is on day two already a dead campaign. Everyone is seemingly just logging in on their ep toons to take everything, so much that while ep is over 4K points already, everyone else is under 1k. Thats pretty telling. And yes I know it resets early, even with the math incorporating this, this is really really bad, and in fact if it wasnt regularly resetting, the difference would be even greater.

This campaign is actually deader than Ravenwatch and Blackreach, impressive. And Zos decided to halt our very competitive, very active Greyhost pvp, for this. Pvers claim they want Vengeance yet not enough of them are saying this to make the campaign function, much less make it competitive.

Give it a rest Zos, and focus again on Greyhost. This is ridiculous.

Yeah, being on DC is rough. It's just a wall of EP. There are a lot of new names on DC that I haven't ever seen (been DC since Day 1) so I'm assuming they are PvErs coming in.

I've said it alot and will say it again - veng is a great camp as an entry to cyro where trying to put together a build is hard but aside from that it's not what the end game PvP should be.

I truly hope ZoS hops in and reads the zone chat and gets an honest, in real time, look at the feedback... it's not going over positively to say the least.

While I do love the performance aspect of it... thats about the only thing positive I have to say. I wish there could be some middle ground between adding in cp/sets/morphs while reducing pop. I think long time PvPers could compromise with trimmed down sets (pick the top 25 sets or something), reduced complex skills (but have morphs), reduced cps (the perks is a good start), and then lower the pop from 300 to say... 200 per faction or something.

I believed Zos when they announced vengeance during the first live stream and every person on that stream said there is no way this will be the end result, not even close, etc etc etc... and the final version of vengeance appears to be fairly similar to the initial test.... just disappointing.

If it comes down to the Nightmarket effectively not being playable solo, I will not be participating. I have plenty of houses I never use already. There is plenty of content in other games I can play instead. I am sure that is what ZOS wants me to do, go play other games instead of theirs. Their choice, I will be entertained either way.
