On Overall 1.6 Nerf Issue, It's Time To Stand Up And Say "Enough Is Enough"

They are nerfing our toons 50% so we can spend another year clawing and scraping back to right where we are now. This was NOT the promise they made for 1.6, where they said they were simply scaling up numbers, and we would still be the same as we are now -- with a new CP system to let everyone go even higher. Instead, they blasted us all back down the hill, while claiming they didn't. Easy proof: just go out on the PTS and fight all the mobs you normally fight on live and see what happens to you. This is %&^%&%%, and it's time this abused and misused fan base let them know it. Please do so. Maybe someone at ZOS HQ will have an epiphany and fix things before 1.6 is live, if we make enough noise in the asylum.

Sorry, but I cannot agree. I'm liking everything I see with the new systems and balance. It may be because may main is VR6, but I'm not feeling any weaker. Things from this perspective seem very much the same.

the game is much better imo. You cant say that the game would be fun if you became god mode with the new CP because your dps just got higher and the bosses and nothing else changed. It would be a face roll and people would leave coz its boring, and people already have left because of that. This brings everyone down to like base level where you are strong but not over the top and you earn your right to be in god mode.
Banned for Naming and Shaming exploiters. Great ideology ZOS.

I agree. My character got skill nerfs and stat nerfs and gear nerfs and grinding 300 cp at 4 hours a pop isn't the solution

Also OP they haven't taken away vet ranks yet....picture this scenario. You grind exp for months and get back up to par....then they take away vet ranks and knock you down again. Everyone should be talking about that

I haven't found out much in 1.6 that I like.

So far it's looking like i'll be dropping my sub when 1.6 hits live.

I was thinking about dropping one of my other games to put more time into this one but ZOS don't seem to want those of us that quit once to come back.

Then they should have released some new, more difficult content along with the CP system--content that required people to gain some CP points to have a chance to complete it.

Nerfing us then requiring us to grind CP points in order to complete content that we have already mastered is a terrible decision. I am not sure what is so hard to understand about that.

I have to disagree. The game in 1.6 is much better.

Yes we have to get out of our comfort zone and try new builds and play the game differently. But that's not a big deal.

I dont agree at all. they didnt rebalance the game with the fotm builds in mind, they overhauled the whole system and its balanced around the new progression system. I for one like it.

all they did were reduced health scaling and adjusted handful of OP skills.
now stamina is on par with magicka(more or less), all armors seem to be viable, all weapons are viable, all classes look like could use any weapon/build/stat and be in just about same position.
can you name 1 OP class atm? there isn't one i believe, time/testing will tell, clases are really close now.
what i don't like is CP gain my thread/poll here suggests new, in my opinion improved system(option 3) for CP gain, fair and balanced to every player.

If " enjoying " the game means grinding cp points then I guess I won't be enjoying it. This is a company that badly mismanaged the game for the first 10 months....then puts a system in place that takes 2 years to progress in and tells everyone " hey we threw away all the progress you paid us money to achieve, but we got a new system that takes years to complete so spend money in our cash shop and also just trust us ". Its outrageous

Well I have seen this post a lot. So basically instead of trying rebalance things correctly and then make new content they are just throwing up sand bags to buy them more time because as they have said.." there will not be anymore large updates in 2015" ?

This is sad news. I swear I was so excited for the console release, but seeing all of this on top of buying the PC version TWELVE DAYS before they uncloak and bust out the BTP model program..

I not only feel robbed.. but I feel like any hopes I had for this game to be "The MMO" for me are going down in flames..

BTW.. I supported this game staying SubFee even on the console.. There is NO reason anyone cannot pay $15.00 for a sub and xboxlive as console players are willing to buy a season pass for COD and other trash for al of the DLC! I mean come on man.. $15.00 is less than gamers spend on snacks a week let alone a month to munch on as they play...

Let me guess these people cannot afford $15.00 a month but ZOS can expect them to drop $20.00 plus on the cash shop....

I've seen you post a lot of negative posts lately regarding the new update - why are you so flustered? I do agree that the champion points might be too time consuming, but overall this is a great change that allows people go more in-depth in their builds and actually have to work to obtain a good one.

    Anyways....So lets recap this :
    Ult nerfs
    Armor nerfs
    Skill nerfs
    Character stat nerfs
    Item nerfs ( pots, food)
    Solution:
Put hundreds and hundreds of hours into a new leveling system with no new content or guarantee we won't destroy your characters again.

Less nerf, and more like balance. Ultimates had to be balanced, as well as the improvements to armour and the different armour types. Skills changed were good for the most part, with some exceptions. Stat decreases, also goes hand in hand with the champion system.

Hey and if the "Grind gets to be to much" we have those nifty lil Exp bonus items in the cash shop "For your convenience"

They are basically making the game into a grinding desert-wasteland and opening up a lemonade stand with this cash shop?

But at least they are kind enough to inform us they are basically "DONE" fixing/working on the game for the rest of 2015.. Who does that?

It kinda feels like they toned things down a bit in order to leave wiggle room for the CS.

When I first logged into the PTS and jumped on my DK I studied all the changes, filled out all my skill points, and went out to do some testing. I noticed right away that I was getting hit harder, taking more damage, doing less damage etc.

Then it occurred to me that I hadn't spent any of my CPs yet. Once I invested 70 CPs, there was a very noticable difference.

This is just a guess, but it feels like they toned things down in anticipation of characters eventually having a ton of CP and wanting them to be where they are right now on the live version rather than being just as powerful when 1.6 goes live and then godlike when we reach full CPs.

    like this:
Character Power level on the live version:
    ....................................
Character Power level on 1.6 with minimal CPs invested:
    ........................
Character Power level in the future with a bunch of CPs invested:
    ..........................................

Just a theory, but it makes sense.

Which would be fine if it didn't take a year to earn 100 cp

Except for trials I do not see a huge decrease in power on my chars I actually see an overall increase in survivability... But damn 1.6 combat is a slow boring slog with not much danger and excitement except for some bosses. It's just slow dps and mitigate and heal constantly.. It is funny that for stuff I would have needed a well timed ultimate or two in 1.5 to pull trough do not even get me bellow 75% health on1.6. Even more ironic is how they made ultimate to quote the idiots 'more ultimate' . What I have experienced is that they are more or less useless and it is not worth to bother intentionally keeping the ulti buff(another awkward slow boring mechanic ) up since the ultimate don't really do much and they don't really do much quite rarely anymore.

Overall. Yes 1.6 is a pathetic failure.

The nerf is real, y'all... toons that used to have 60% crit have like 40% and that's HUGE. And I only earn about 1 CS point per day on PTS...

because we spent hundreds of hours completing end game pve runs that had gear as rewards with 8 percent crit on them and they nerfed them to 2 percent...because we cant has nice things and end game pve people dont matter

+1, revert back to 1.5 numbers, inflation in numbers is dumb and looks ugly. Vanity counts in an MMO, and large numbers isn't vanity. Not to mention the obvious overall nerf.

@ZOS_GinaBruno‌ The Champion System is a "progression" system yes? Why are we progressing ground we've already made? It's more like... You guys gave us candy, then took the candy away and gave us vegetables, and we have to eat the veggies to get the candy... It isn't right! :disappointed:

So essentially what i am taking away from the OP and elsewhere i've heard the same sentiment is that the CS is taking all VR lvl'd charcters down to pretty much a base freshly made lvl 50. Then you get 70 CP(max for VR14 folks) to distribute straight away to start retuning.

Coming from a long time FFXI guy, this sounds a lot like ZoS is actually trying to roll out their own version of the Merit system from the aforementioned game. And personally i think this is a good thing. Going further, ZoS should have rolled this system out much sooner imo.

Sure it is gonna take more time to 'max out' a character now. But that should really not be an issue when content is gonna scale. And really what is the rush to anyways?

@ the other prevalent sentiment that i see coupled with the main one from the OP(paraphrased-'All my work on my build has been flushed!!!'), please tell me that this isn't your first MMO. Because unless it is, you should well know that every time there is a major overhaul to game mechanics/systems, there is a good chance that your playstyle will need to be adapted.

    Now off-topic-ish

But i have to speak at the small bold bit of the post of yours i quoted...i agree with you 100%. It drives me up the wall when characters are referred to as toons.

About time, with almost any build i have felt like a godlike creture who kills everything just by looking at them with certain way..

Everything dies too fast, especially when in groups. Mobs do not deal enough damage..

There are few very rare occasions where this is not true but these should be as they are.

What we are all trying to get at is they nerfed everything and expect us to make up the difference using cp gains....but it takes 4 to 5 hours to get single point...and that's just from grinding exp. They need to adjust the amount of time it takes to earn a point
