    EU Server is melting right now. Insane lag, long skill delays and kicked by server 3 times in 1 hour. Now cant connect to server at all.

    There are always at least three realities in an online game: yours, your opponents', and the host's. That can't be helped. The trick is to have them seem to make sense to players. ATM they're not.

    One player in our group last night, a woman who never complains, was more bewildered than angry. "It feels like I'm healing through water" is how she put it.

    Something's not syncing correctly and I hope they'll be able to determine what's causing that. It usually takes two patches after a major update after all.

    This is pretty much always how it works for me with out of region players and even just latent US players.

    I often ask myself. Where does the server think this guy is?

    Being hit by AOEs outside the red is normal for us.

    I don't/can't do dolmens in Alik'r because NPCs are dead before they appear.

    I mean, we expect that far from the servers , but if your ping is below 100, your experience should be better.

    I used to have terrible ping because I had to play through a hotspot connection, and in speaking with some aussies yes, positional dysyncs are the norm with high ping. But NOT to this degree. This isn't ping spikes that are irratic and cause the dysyncs.

    Now I'm on fiber internet, rock solid, and ping doesn't fluctuate when this happens, it is similar but I can tell you in experiencing both dysyncs that this feels different. It's on their end, not ours, which behaves slightly differently.

    I agree. They really should have waited til the double drop event was over. With their track record of buggy patch releases, it was a very poor decision.

    Yeah, it's unplayable. I just want zos to acknowledge it's not just skill input lag, but player position server lag as well!

The second time was at glade mine I went in with full health, lept on the flag NPCs got stunned, and got the “you can’t do that while dead” message when I tried to break free. Sure enough I dropped dead on the flag. Combat log recorded no incoming damage.

    What these have in common is player positioning sync. Skills don’t fire because on the server side the target isnt where your client perceives them to be. Snap backs and rubber banding happens because the server and your game disagree about where your character is.

    We’ve seen these symptoms of desync on occasion in high lag situations, but last night it was notable in that it happened all night, in every fight, and seemed to affect everyone more or less the same. Something is preventing the game from receiving or processing combat positioning messages in real time, and it’s too widespread to be caused by our individual systems, internet connections, or even addons.

    Man....i kind of wish they would hold off on this update for console if it has broken pc this bad. I can only imagine what bugs it will bring xbox.

    For the most part @ZOS_GinaBruno I have mostly just PVP’ed for the past 6 years. I write stories about my character’s adventures and do what pve I need to do in order to pvp. I have always been positive and told people to hang on it will change when I had my guild. For the first time in 6 years, I have stopped pvping. I believe this is a great game but something is horribly wrong. I understand you can only tell us what you know and want to give accurate information. Is there anyway you can set something up to pass information along to people, as information becomes available? In doing so maybe we won’t feel the situation is so hopeless. I believe communication is a good thing in these types of situations. Thanks for all you do.

    I'm getting a strange lag in PvE when using skills as well. It seems to happen most often with place-able ground effects. Not like a wall of elements that works by slamming the staff down and is right in front of you, but (and I have auto casting on, but it happened both with and without that in parsing) using things like endless hail, cinder storm, scalding rune.

    A simple update like this for console would probably quit all the console performance spam in different threads. I won't hold my breath though

    We just got 100% proof this is a larger scale problem last night, but I didn't see this thread until just now.

    Raid team was doing VSS HM, on final boss. During the one-shot mechanic where you hide behind the statue, the ENTIRE raid team got instantly killed despite being perfectly stacked behind the statue. This is an experienced group who runs the trial all the time. This desync issue continued to happen randomly for the rest of the fight. Sometimes the whole group would die, sometimes only half the group. In every case the whole team was perfectly stacked behind the statue.

    Additionally, the rest of the fight was profoundly delayed. For example, every head thrash mechanic (where you block and boss knocks you back a little) was very desynced between the animation and the knockback (by up to 4-5 seconds delay). Oh and a very fun one was where group wiped and one player rezzed way outside the map. All of this was happening in a single night on one boss lol.

    This is exactly what we are looking to hear about. Gina says this topic is in another thread, but it's not. I can't find it. She is most likely referring to the general animation and skill delay thread(s). This is a completely separate issue, and if they only address skill animation delays/misfires, then they aren't fixing the problem.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno these positional dysyncs are NOT the same type of performance problems as general skill clunkiness and dysyncs. These are separate issues. Can they be tied together somehow? Sure. I just want to make sure the team is aware of these server to player positional dysyncs.

    Half of the skill delays can be attributed to this. Ground based AOEs and general buff/debuff skills have their own problems. Skills not firing that require a server calculation of player to target range are not functioning due to these positional dysyncs.

    This thread is relevant because it addresses separate issues, that are both affecting combat at the same time. However, it is not just affecting combat. The server loses player position while even doing things as simple as attempting to collect a chest or resource node!

    While this positional dysync is a huge deal for end game trials and pvp, it is even affecting the casual farming and questing overland players. I just want to make sure the team is aware of all contributing factors while assessing the issues introduced with update 25, so they can rectify the issues as soon as possible.

    +1 the skill delay is horrible, and worst is the targeting as said previsously. Even with a DK in cac (or what I see as cac on my end...) I just cannot wip!!!

    Last night in Cyrodiil is the worst game performance I have ever experienced in my several years of playing. I have had issues before but it was usually only for short periods of time. Last night was constant crap. Even away from anyone or any battle it took several seconds just to mount or dismount. The first time I shut the game down out of performance frustration.

    Wow... that’s probably one of the worst spots to have desync issues!

    That happened to us in Falkreath Hold too. Everyone perfectly stacked, half the team dies during primal. One time someone showed on my screen as being in the middle of the room and they survived without taking damage.

    Same thing in vBRP. That last fight is one of the easiest fights in there, and we simply could not reliably cleanse on the pads or pick up ghosts, even when we literally just stood there on top of them. Other times we would turn blue despite being nowhere near a ghost. We actually had to adjust where tank was positioning because we found you could only bash the boss/adds from the far left corner. 3/4 people couldn’t use sigils either. Truly a mess.

    If you don't feel it, try vBRP. You die outside ground based effects, or die inside mechanics such as the bug bomb from Tames, because the server says you were standing outside the AOE. You fight the last boss and your screen randomly goes blue as if you have been touching the ghosts when you KNOW you weren't even near them. Similarly you walk directly through the center on the golden ghosts players need to pick up during the ghost explosion phase and the server says nope, you didn't walk over that ghost - please try again, maybe the fourth time passing over the center of the ghost we will decide to give credit for doing so.

    Yes, to all the above. We went into BRP the other day, and it was a nightmare. All these bugs make it very painful to complete, let alone take a shot at the achievements.

    Wow they deleted my other response. Can't point out facts I suppose. Gotta maintain the illusion that nothing is wrong with the way this is being handled. Anyways, as I said before...

    This patch should never have gone live in the state it was released in. It's unacceptable. This clip is unacceptable.

    So I decided to avoid cyrodiil and pve a bit. It went like this:

    Grabbing a sigil in vma, “ the target is out of range”.
    I’m standing right on top of it why are you even showing me the prompt if it’s out of range, you <Obscenities redacted>??!!

    Getting knocked back by a Lamia “I rolled like 5 meters away from that, she wasn’t even facing me!!

    Keep dying to mechanics telegraphed several seconds before the damage registers. Quit vma and port to Alinor to pick up writs, “The target is out of range“ at the equipment board. “The target is out of range“ at the woodworking station even though I was given the prompt. “The target is out of range“ at the quest turnin even though I was getting the prompt.

    Log off, complain in Discord, complain on forums.

    I'm sorry for your loss. But thank you for sharing your experience. Apparently the evidence needs to be widespread and from many sources for action to be taken.

    How a formal announcement hasn't been made acknowledging each individual problem and putting forth a plan depicting a clear course of action is beyond comprehension.
