We've all already changed our builds in PvE because we're not morons. It didn't make this trashcan of a patch any less ridiculous, so yeah, we did go to the forums AFTER race changing to Breton [insert other sustain race here] and rekitting healers for more sustain. But isn´t the point that the devs when looking at pvp make the concious decision to not let this happen?
People have been sugarcoated by easy to use defensive mechanics way too long. They need to be brought to the mindset when entering pvp that they will eventually die to other players - and that this is an ok thing to happen. That´s why they enter a pvp zone in the first place.
Not dying as a main goal for the player is an antithesis of pvp and people need to be taught that again. This goes for smallscale "roxxors" aswell as the "trashcans".
Building to live instead of to kill is not building for pvp. It´s carebear mentality - no matter who does it.
Mechanics should not endorse not dying. They should make it prohibitively difficult over extended periods of time.
While I 100% agree with the bolded sentiment, the majority of solutions can't be applied to this game because unfortunately PvP and PvE share the same gear and skills, and stripping defensive abilities from PvP would cause massive problems in PvE. The only solution I can see is to remove all major buffs and debuffs from PvP via battle spirit, and only make certain ones available through the Assault or Support skill lines, like Major Expedition (rapids).
I do firmly believe though that players will still crutch where they can, and will find other creative ways to build for super survival. I'm sick to death of coming up against immortal stambois in heavy armor who can still hit like trucks and move at super speed because ZOS can't properly balance specs any more than they can balance arenas (PvP/PvE), but I don't ever expect that to change, so I've just learned to walk away and find another target. It's just not that big of a deal any more.

DOTS were fine. They should have left them alone in the first place. After realizing their mistakes they should have reverted the overtuned buffs. Instead, they nerfed dots into the ground.
I’m not even going to get into defile, bleeds, or oblivion damage...
Brp weapons aren’t op. The skills that gave any measure of counterplay to them and to tank meta in general, have all been nerfed into the dirt. Yet, nerflings still begging ZOS for nerfs.
If tank meta is a problem ask for buffs to YOUR builds.

DOTS were not fine lol that is why they got nerfed they way they did. DOTs are meant to be added damage over time, not your sole source of all DPS.
"The skills that gave any measure of counterplay to them and to tank meta in general, have all been nerfed into the dirt."
PVP disagrees with you.
"If tank meta is a problem ask for buffs to YOUR builds."
How does that work? So instead of nerfing things you just overbuff them? Wouldn't that just lead to the same problems but opposite? How does that actually solve anything?

No it does not need to get nerfed. It takes up a 5 piece bonus set, its duration is extremely short (3 sec) and in the case of dual wield comes at the cost of over 3K stamina. In addition, if you are attributing someone's tankiness to a 3 sec duration, then perhaps the real question you ask yourself is: "Why am I unable to kill someone outside of this 3 second window that is costly on their resources?"

No that was my guess what your @name in game was.
Oh, then can say that no. Not even start with the letter M ingame so you would end up guessing for a long time i think.
You trying to find my Discord, Whatsapp, phone number and home address too or what is this all about?
What next? Running around with childrens Little Detective Kit toy box trying to hunt me down?
You’re Moonsorrow, same forum name and in game name, ZOS does not allow impersonation therefore if you are not Moonsorrow your forum account would be banned.
lol? Like half of my friends and anyone i know have totally different forum and account name. "Impersonation"..
And yes, i have more than 1 account in game. So does many who are altoholics liking to make new characters with this small ESO character amount limit and/or dislike the 5 guilds limit and so on. And it is allowed to have more than 1 account.
I`m starting to have a feeling you lot know the forum/account link rules and realities as badly as you know the in game combat realities and consequences.
Okay Moonsorrow, there’s no need to hide, we know it’s you. Be true to yourself, you can come out, it’s ok.

Emma_Overload wrote: »Why are people always asking for gear to be nerfed, when it's always the underlying Major buffs/debuffs that are the real problem?
If all Major buffs were reduced to 15% or 20% (with Minor buffs at 8% or 10%), most of the complaining would go away. 30% buffs for things like Major Protection are always going to be nerf magnets for whatever gear they are attached to.

I guess that would be the type of messages i would get in game if my @ name was known, huh?
It is not like i am 100% against all nerfs, i did agree on things like Pirate Skeleton for many reasons.
What i am against though is making changes that will just affect pve too, and/or not really affect pvp in the end after everyone just adapts to it and/or it will just in near future make nerfs to offensive skills to balance out the nerfed defensive sets/skills just to end up on the starting point but with just possibly destroyed sets/skills on both defensive and offensive choices.
But i guess too hard concept to understand. Better to just "nerf everything" and be where the game is and is heading even more (read= not fun) that has happened exactly because of changes like that without thinking them through. Easy to blame ZOS about them when it actually is a group of people asking for them constantly.
So please, keep typing in your special style.. not gonna change the facts. Just saying.

Wasn't really addressing that to you since you appear to be more nuanced in your thinking than some of the posters here. Just showing that there is one extreme that is "nerf everything" and another which is "all nerfs are bad." They are equally bad and ignorant attitudes to have.

It honestly baffles me how these two obviously over-performing weapons have still been untouched. Every good player understands they are over-performing and you can do perfectly fine without them, but with them you become virtually unkillable. Furthermore, with the buffs to healing, Lokestiiz HM has become much easier to heal, to the point where BRP resto is absolutely not needed anymore to successfully heal cages. There is no legitimate reason for these to not get nerfed ZOS.
So people who are PROGRESSING lokk HM have to suffer because some dude uses it in pvp and you can't kill him?
Finally someone understands.

Sick of PvP hurting groups of people trying to clear hard PvE content, I play both modes and there is more to complain about other than a staff and a set of dual wield weapons.... people exploiting CC is what needs to go... remove that crutch and watch the "skill" disappear
