Once Again; BRP Resto and DW both need to be nerfed.

Switched from NMA frontbar+Shacklebreaker+BRP DW+Bloodspawn to NMA frontbar+7th legion S&B backbar+Agility+1 piece of resistances. Guess what? Damage increased, tankiness increased. Everytime smallscale was trying to burn me, I just used literally spammable shield ultimate and this was more then enough to survive coordinated burst of people who were cutting trough BRP DW yesterday in couple of GCD.

    Nerf shield ultimate!

Wow, I didn’t know ultimates were spammable. This is news to me. I guess you can spam Spell wall for perma blocking and reflects the same way you can spam Brp dw for perma major protection or spam Brp resto for perma major vitality.

In case it is 1v1 obviously spell wall is cheaper then meteor or ballista or onslaught, and you won't kill anybody in 1v1 without ultimate, well, unless your skill is MUCH higher or opponent is in PVE gear. In case this is XvX or simply in difficult terrain, 7 seconds of free block with 60% extra mitigation (65% in case of DK) is enough to roll-dodge, fully restore health and disengage. Potatoes can use LOS too :D

Anyway, I just mean that there are other ways to have good protection without BRP DW. More then that I seriously doubt inexperienced players can keep BRP DW uptime notably high. And if this is experienced player with proper build, why you should kill him in 2-3 GCD if he didn't do mistakes? Dance around him, wait for opportunity window when that player will forget to maim you or when he will make sustain mistakes... provoke for all-in counter attack etc. At least I'm running with modifications of same build for a while now, and those 1vXers who act smart are defeating me. Those who just spam same 3 ability combo over and over... sorry, it is too predictable to make mistake.

So I am against nerf of this 2 sets, because in next patch others will come with pledges to nerf something else.. for myself I don't need them really, I started using them simply because everybody cried it is BiS. I bet smallscalers were exploiting them all year and were quiet until this sets became common knowledge.

. 7 seconds of free block with 60% extra mitigation (65% in case of DK)

All block mitigation is additive, with a cap of 90%.

No. Only extra block is additive. So for DK it is (1-0.5)*(1-0.1-0.2)=0.35 -> 65%
For other classes it is (1-0.5)*(1--0.2)=0.4 -> 60%

Lets do some examples using things the average tank would use. Lets make it a Dragonknight, for obvious reasons. So they would have 50% from blocking, lets say 40% from resistance, 15% from minor maim, 10% from the Iron Skin Passive and 20% from the Sword and Board Passive. The calculations would look like this:

    100-(100*(1-(15)/100)*(1-(26400/660)/100)*(1-(50)/100)*(1-(10+20)/100))=82.15%

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/279426/damage-mitigation-explanation-updated-15-07-2019/p1

so your equation would look like this-

    (1-(50)/100)*(1-(10+20)/100)= 35%

    not

    (1-0.5)*(1-0.1-0.2)=0.35 = 35%

I mean they come out to the same but the math is different then the way you are doing it, any insight @paulsimonps ?

50/100=0.5  they are both the same thing just one is more drawn out. I usually like to put it as the first one but that is mainly so that people that have a harder time with math can more easily see where to swap out the numbers and just put in the exact percentage so they don't have to worry about decimal numbers and stuff when using the formula. Both are exactly the same in the end though so users pick.
