We’re happy to have launched our visual and structural overhaul of the forums. We have been collecting feedback since launch and are excited to announce a host of redesigned and new features. A general rundown of improvements can be found below, including a few updates we were able to implement earlier.

Please feel free to post any feedback you have on the forums in this thread; we’d love to hear what you think so we can continue to improve!

NEW WITH THE OVERHAUL
Visual Revamp

The forums are now higher contrast, and have a more traditional layout.

Developer Tracker

This has been fully redone to improve readability. Developer posts added to the tracker are in a single column, and post content is truncated with a sneak peak visible in the tracker itself. Click on the sneak peak to be brought to the full post.

Language Selection

This is a brand new feature that only displays forums of a single language at a time.
For our multi-lingual fans, it’s possible to switch easily between language communities by choosing languages in the header.
This extends to Recent Discussions, which will only display content in the language you have selected.
Note: Language selection will not apply to the Developer Tracker, as doing so would prevent the tracker from updating immediately.

Updated Structure

The forum structure has been redesigned to improve visibility and navigation.
All forums have been brought to the front to make it easier to find the best section for your questions
It’s also possible to toggle closed any of the forum categories on the landing page.

RECENT ADDITIONS

Display Poll Results

It is no longer necessary to vote in a poll to see its results; an option to view the results can now be found next to the Vote button.

Ignore

It is now possible to ignore up to 12 other forum users.
Users you ignore will not be able to initiate PM conversations with you, and their posts (but not threads) will be hidden.
Detailed instructions for using the forum’s ignore feature can be found on our searchable knowledge base; there are articles for both adding and removing users.

It will take some getting used to. I prefer dim lighting, so I will be making some adjustments in regards to that, but overall I like it. Being able to see the original author of a thread w/o clicking it is nice. And I know many people here enjoyed the lol option, but honestly I am glad to see it go because it was seldom used as it was intended.

Kinda sad to see the agree and awesome options removed though.

Dev tracker is a huge improvement. I hated the old one. It was to hard to follow. Rest of the forums looks good too but do not care much for the color. I like a darker background.

I see, that 'LOL' is gone. But how do I 'agree' (etc) to a user now?

I was hoping this bug I seem to have would get fixed when the new forum rolled out, but it's still happening: Everytime I load the forum up the little note in the corner telling me I've asked questions that have answers pops up, I click it and there is nothing there for me to check off. Not sure why it's always showing, maybe a question I asked waaaay back in the pts that didn't get checked off hung around as a notification? idk

Not for me -- I don't see those options anywhere. I am using Firefox, so I wonder if there's an addon or setting that blocks them.

This may be common to have a ton of different forums all separate but I feel like it spreads out the conversation a lot. Any thoughts on condensing some of it down for a more compact experience?

It's not there for me. Neither with Firefox 35 nor Explorer 11.

Edit: After saving this post the options suddenly appeared.

I must be bugged as well, because I don't see them either.

This occurs to me as well, using Google chrome.
Disabling adblock did the trick.

Your guess is probably correct, we can investigate this and should be able to fix the problem.

Overall, I like it. My one caveat is that the left-sided header section with the avatar and username is overly large. There's no reason why the avatar cannot be above the user name. This would make it so that users with smaller screens, or multiple windows would not have to scroll to see the full post text, and then back to see the user who posted.

I noticed something might be a bug. The locked threads have a "leave reply" button. Since no replies are allowed the button shouldnt be there right?

Nice new forums, but what I am still missing is a 'return to top' option when at the bottom of the thread, or even when in the middle of the thread.

When I change the language it puts me to the forum overwiew site of that language. Would it be possible to switch languages for subforums directly?

E g.
- I'm reading 'general discussion'
- I click on 'DE'
- It puts me directly to 'Allgemeine Diskussion'

Can you make it more mobile friendly? If you go to the desktop site in android chrome there seems to be no way to get back to the mobile site. Please add a desktop/mobile option at the bottom of every page.

You can't actually reply to those threads, right?

Nope cant actually reply. Just see the button there.

Mod text beyond the name should not be green. The color and contrast are pretty terrible choices between the foreground and background. Starting to see a trend with UI.
