The menu items are kept consistent with main site and help portal. You will need a copy of the game to post on the forums - but anyone can read them.

One thing I notice, is that when I load a thread I read before and it has a new post that's down towards the bottom of the page, that I end up in the answer box, instead of at the newest unread post. It works OK when I have read the thread and I load it again when there are no new posts. Then I end up at the last post in the thread.

I'm using Pale Moon 25.1.0 (x64) with Firefox compatibility mode turned off.

Good job on revamping the forums. My only issue is the blue buy now button in the top right hand corner. It is kind of gimpy/lame. Get your graphic design team to come up with something that really makes me want to buy the game. It should be more than just a generic blue html button.

Also I'm getting old and this text is a bit small.

The sub categories in the alliance war section seem to be overkill.

Over all I can't say they make me want to come and do research or generally hang around to interact with the community.

And text size is easily fixed. Just hit Ctrl-+ (that's Ctrl and the + key) to increase text size in your browser. Hit Ctrl-- to make it smaller.

If you are signed out of the forums and you go to reply to a topic, it asks you to sign in. After you sign in you get a "Page not found error" even though it signed you in fine. I'm guessing the forwarding isn't set up correctly.

I really think you guys should consider removing the "Roboto Condensed" font you chose for text on the forums. It is far more difficult to read despite being a cool looking font. (Happens often when you let Artists instead of UI people choose fonts ( = )

But it IS in fact, much brighter and the text should be restored to their normal size.

@derpsticks (and others commenting on font sizes),

For almost every site, not just the ESO Forums, default font sizes are small for my no-line tri-focals. ( I'm a literal "Greybeard" )

I use my browser's Zoom (or View) settings set to 125%. I generally use IE11 as my browser.

125% zoom is large enough for me to read clearly and works well for most sites. An alternative, albeit inconvenient and less than user-friendly is the Windows Magnify tool for tiny text. You can find other settings for Windows in Control Center > Ease of Access.

I like the Zenimax "Z" watermark on official posts. Clearly distinguishes ZOS posts (if the ZOS_ prefix wasn't obvious enough). Kudos!

Also you mention, that it was abused even in beta. Is it really the same forum users who are here now as in beta and start of ESO who are the abusers? I do not believe so.

Isn't the majority of those who was on the forums then, not here now, nor even on the map to play ESO?

• How about you rename the "LoL" button to something more positive that is very connected to "this post is enjoyable or very fun"? I do not have a suggestion to offer.
• A "new" "LoL" would also be a reset. Users can still have their old lols, but this way you still get a good overview of a profiles history.

I do however believe that the "lol" button would be used far less if there was a disagree button and the fact that we do not have nearly the masses of trolls we had the first months.

A note: The Insight button always been VERY valuable. That's almost been soly used to really good posts. That is a very important part to keep. The suggestions now that some players feel when they lack option to disagree/lol, to use that.....well. That's wrong, but human nature wants to express them in some way.

I think you should really consider Lol/disagree or something else, so the current choices dont changes value.

Even on my phone I've got enough room for Participated and would love to just move it there. Mark All Read can stay deep down in the darkest damp depths of the menu and rot. Thank you for moving that out of the way of me clumsy thumbs!

I mean, I understand that you want the text size changed, but claiming that pressing two buttons when going to these forums is "unreasonable" is a little bit much. We all have our preferences; let's try not to treat them as though they're objective.

Whose silly idea was it to remove the "Mark All Read" button from the forums themselves? I've seen your explanation for it and I disagree. There's an ideal place to put this button rather than hiding it in the wheel options at the top:


Also, it's not so much that the font is too small, but that it's too narrow. It reminds me of the 80s when you had your dot matrix printer with the continuous paper feed (holes along the sides of the paper), and you wanted to fit more on the page so you switched to a condensed font. Why is the width of the text so disproportionate to the height? I'd think you were trying to save space - except that, for those of us on widescreen monitors, huge chunks of the screen are wasted down both sides.

Finally, please give some consideration to those of us who have been paid subscribers for as long as the game has existed. Please would you grey out the huge blue BUY NOW box for us when we are logged in to the site. We have ALREADY BOUGHT and CONTINUE TO BUY every month or six months - we don't need that "advert" sitting there.

Why did the 'Participated' had to go? Please bring it back. It was the best way to see if there were replies to threads were you have participated.

Now I need to go through my profile to comments and see if someone has replied something in the thread.

Or if someone has good way to keep track on replies to threads then please enlighten me.

EDIT: phew it's still there but there's no button/link to use it one needs to manually enter it to address it seems

Yes there is. It is listed as a sub-menu item from the "Account Options" gear icon at the top of the page.

...not sure what more could have been done to help you with this one.

+1 More vote for changing the font and background. Font is way too small and narrow, background too light - burns the eyes to read on. And that green ZoS text needs to be a much darker shade to make it readable.

I also kinda preferred the old style for quotes - where the quote was surrounded by a box. The new lines may look sleeker, but it's much harder to differentiate visually between quotes and the post author's response to quotes.

Any chance of the "Participated" button coming back? I could just be missing where it's located now, but I used to use that a lot to go back and check updates on threads I was posting in without favouriting them.

Is it possible to darken the background where the texts are written, just a slight bit? It's kind of blinding to the eyes.

Also, please provide a button to disagree with a post (a thumbsdown, or disagree, heck I don't mind bringing back the LOL button).
