Dev Tracker's still missing a language filter, so it's still far less useful than it could/should be in being a place to EASILY see new 'green' posts.

Why implement a forum-wide language selection and then proceed to ignore it in the one place it probably matters most?
    ZOS_AlanG wrote: »

So implement a filter into the query that generates the Dev Tracker index when we go to the page?

OR, at the very least put a flag in the icon column so we can easily spot posts we know we won't be able to read without having to visually scan a sea of green text on white.

    One question:

With the changes, why haven't you included a guild recruitment forum for PS4 and one for Xbox One?

It is only four months to go and you could have saved yourselfes and us another downtime. Because sooner or later you will have to include them anyway.

Just noticed that there also seems to be two instances of the post edited text. Also, some discussion titles are too long and get cut off, same with some usernames.

Another thing worth mentioning is all of the blank space to the left and right of a post (under the user name/profile pic on the left and under the post number and time of post on the right). Consider moving the actual content down about an inch and then stretch it out so it fills this unused space. That or place the insightful/agree/awesome/quote/report buttons beneath the username and profile pic and make them always visible. I like to use the non-mobile version of the forum on my phone and hovering over something to click a button does not work well.

Is it just me or do profile pics seem bigger and out of proportion to the username/stars?

Your username along with the buttons to its right at the top of the page should be right aligned so they are next to the search box.

Quoted text should be in a box with a different background color or be bounded by a second bar to the right of the text. The color of quoted text is even harder to read than the regular text.

The events and contests forum seems like overkill.

The "other locales" and "campaigns" forum seems to be where you send threads to die. Campaigns should be consolidated into "alliance war" and "other locales" is comprised of six threads (most of which discuss yet to be released content) that should be placed in three different forums.

Guild recruitment seems like it should be under the community section. PTS doesn't seem like a good fit under community.

Clicking the hide button under the gear icon of a forum does not hide the forum initially. You have to select the followed categories button before it goes away.

Each forum on the categories pages should have a number of posts shown in its box. It would be easier to see if there is a new "news" or "developer discussion" post without having to actually go to those forums.

The entire PVP section could be placed into the game play section. Is PVP not game play? I understand why a PVP combat and skills section was made but I think it should be rolled into the other combat and skills forum. While there are different aspects to PVP it would be best to hold all combat and skill discussions in one place because changes to and information about skills is generally valid in both PVE and PVP.

The NPC guilds section should mention the undaunted in its description.

There is no forum for dungeons/trials/end game except for the adventure zones forum. I would suggest changing the adventure zone forum to either an endgame/trials/dungeons/veteran content forum and moving it to the gameplay section.

    Consolidate the three faction forums.

I'll try and think of a few more things later.

I'm normally terrified of change and I'm loving this one. Shows how awful the forum was before if I don't miss it at all. :#

There needs to be a way to change font size, it's tiny. Move username under the avatar and make that column thinner, it will be more efficient (swaths of blank space are so wasteful). Speaking of avatars, I know it isn't related to design and all, but is there any chance we could finally upload our own? Now that they're more prominent, it's even more annoying that I can't recognize people at a glance but instead see 20 identical Redguards.

looks ok to me, I will say the more PRO-ACTIVE you are the less posts you will get , give players a voice and they will use it

would also say with the non constructive posts please delete them .

forums should be for helping the game where there are ***-ups and not general rant and raves.

forum main page this one looks ok nice first page layout easy to see every thing

Was work done on our request to be able see useful and informative 'green' posts separately from moderation comments which don't really add value to a discussion thread for someone simply looking for 'official' comments on subjects of substance?

You know, about that font size, I found a temporary solution. Considering that the sides of the page are just blank columns, I zoomed in the entire page. 110% looks just right to me. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work, but that's all I've got for now, so...

The only change I like is the language filter. Honestly, whose idea was it to have three language subforums for each subforum in the old version anyway?

I don't really care about most visual changes (font, colors, size of elements), though I do prefer the look and feel of the old version.

What I really dislike though, is that elements such as number of replies, number of views, reaction buttons, etc. have been moved to the right edge.

This is mostly due to me browsing this forum almost exclusively on my phone. Now I have to scroll to the right to see/use those elements, whereas in the old version they were always onscreen.

I know there is a mobile version, but I highly dislike its minimalist design and mobile data volume is of no concern to me.

One change I would still like to see is for us to get notifications when people quote a comment of ours, as quoting is basically replying in most cases. I know that's what @name is for, but not everyone always uses that when replying to someone.

Overall it is a vast improvement.

I would have liked to have seen Dev tracker languages separated. Perhaps in the manner the guild recruitment threads are separated. That has made scanning those posts so much easier.

I would have preferred to see the discussion/poll/question icons still have different colors for quick scanning.

Just my minor observations thus far.

"There is no moisture in your angry stares." - Laughs-at-All
"I don't know why I bother guarding you horrible people." - Orama Sadas
"Scales here is about to have a really bad day..." - Valeric
"Just tell me what you're doing here before I turn your heart into a tomato..." - Sereyne
"Break those rocks! Dig those ditches! Why??? Because I want you to!!!" - Ifriz the Unraveller
"There are worse masters than I. Far worse." - Molag Bal
"I humiliated the Daedra in Mehrunes Spite." - You, when turning in a specific Undaunted Daily.
"I'm not finding you very pleasant!" - Adla the Brewer
"Old Ri'hirr likes his birds slow and stupid!" - Old Ri'hirr
"When things get dirty... Oh, I get so flustered." - Meredil the Archivist
"Too many Argonians about these days..." - Davon's Watch Guard (though I think this one has been removed from game)

The text is smaller and more difficult to read. I'm also not seeing an option to go to "participated".
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

The Ignore function should make it so that not only do you not see the posts of those you ignore but, once ignored, they should not be able to see your posts either. Most social media does this via a block function and I know it was suggested here as well.

Otherwise, the new layout is very nice though it does seem smaller than before.

How about a settings option under our accounts that applies different styles/layouts?

This could be done easily with CSS and would allow individual users to select the 'skin/contrast/font size, etc that best suits their personal preference.

The text box and background being almost identical makes it harder on the eyes if you already have a bright screen, imo.

You could limit choices to a handful of templates, so nothing gets too different than what your design team wishes the forum to look like, but this would give users more options to make a more visually pleasing display.

Would also like the option to Left Justify a bit more - making the posts more centered by having the overall block shifted left a bit more. Again, personal preference

    #RadioButtonsAreYourFriend

    EDIT:
    • Swap Save Draft and Post Comment back. Center choice for the primary action feels intuitive.
    • Add a boxed EDIT button for your own posts near Quote/Report vice the iconish gear in the upper right (which blends a bit too much)
    • Make the BUY NOW button a little less blue. (They're already here, they're already halfway to checkout.)

Well, looks ok for the most part.
However, moving the poster's name besides the image was totally unnecessary..
Now about 1/4th of every post is wasted by displaying a huge empty box around a user's name/logo.

    Comments:
    • Please increase the default font size.
    • The all-green mod text is a bit garish; the majority of the text should be the same colour as normal text, just with the name in green as before.
    • It took me ages to find Participated Discussions. Please consider moving it out of the Account Options dropdown.
      • On that note: please consider adding a drop-down-triangle to those four buttons; I didn't realise they were dropdowns at all.

    Language Selection
    • Note: Language selection will not apply to the Developer Tracker, as doing so would prevent the tracker from updating immediately.
    • I would rather have the Dev Tracker filtered and not updating immediately, than not filtered. This is the thing that really needed language filtering more than anything else.
    Developer Tracker
    • This has been fully redone to improve readability. Developer posts added to the tracker are in a single column, and post content is truncated with a sneak peak visible in the tracker itself. Click on the sneak peak to be brought to the full post.
    • Is there any possibility of the Dev Tracker sneak peek being longer, or just showing the whole post? It was good to be able to read all the dev posts in one page without having to click into the different threads. With this filtered by language it would also be more manageable.

Ugh...why change the look of the forums? It was fine just the way it was, this new look is giving me eye strain. I totally hate the new changes. If Zenimax wanted fewer people to use the forums it'll work in my case, I probably won't stop by near as often now.

The font is too small and I don't like the color scheme..the whole look screams generic low budget forums where before it had some style. An option to use the "classic" style of the previous forum would be nice.

Its all a matter of personal "skill & health".

For my eyes the new font and layout is a lot better, I can clearly read everything 2 meters away from my screen. In past I could read things as well, but it hurt my eyes over time and the letters were blurry due the poor color / background & contrast setting.

Maybe ZO can add some options so that those who suffer now can adjust the forum to their liking. I am however happy about the change.
