ESO False Marketing

I can play any role/class I want. Sure Breton might be great for a DPS temp (I have one) but I can also roll an orc restro temp (I have one of those too). I can wear light, medium, or heavy armor or any combination of the three. I could have a dark elf tank that fights for the AD (OK, I don't have one that far gone) or a Breton that has switched sides to Ebonheart (umm . . .). Obviously some of my choices will be MUCH harder to advance. That, however, is my choice and is the freedom promised by Matt. Some obviously stretch lore. Some of my characters however fit into the RP genre. Again the freedom is mine.

I also experience very little lag. I have an adequate but not awesome rig. I have a kicked up but not ultimate internet broadband package. My game settings are maxed out, I have both Chrome and FF running with multiple tabs open in each. Still, with the rare exception, my game runs smoothly. I may very well have concerns about bots and overly difficult solo instanced dungeons and a few other things here and there but these two issues are just not a problem for me.

After all the blatant lies and broken promises and evasions... I just gave up. Amazing how it went free to play basically within the first year.

If someone played not on phone/modem connection, then I guess PvE zones are almost lag free - I can not remember any lag in last few days there. Because until an mmo actually does this most people will believe it isn't possible. Hopefully the game that manages to pull it off is actually a good game. Because a whole lot of issues get fixed when you only have 3 players

You see most of us take PR promises with a pinch of salt, and this was pure PR.
As I said earlier, I won't see lag free gaming in my lifetime (currently 40years old and planning on living into my 90s).

Just to clarify ... are you calling the ones who laughed at the OP, suckers .... or the OP?

I ask because people may be laughing purely because they didn't believe new content would come every 4-6 weeks.

Anyone that believes anything that's said about any game ever IS a sucker.

They promise the world to build hype and get people in. A lot of the time they will never be able to deliver on those promises.

New content in this game with the sheer amount of problems it's had since early access was never .... ever .... going to be every 4-6 weeks.

So people will "lol" because they saw it coming.

We've all played games that have made promises and failed to deliver them. Some have played games that have blatantly lied to it's playerbase (Defiance being one such game).

Take everything that is said with a pinch of salt and never buy into hype.

Tired of people not seeing the game for what it is and what it should have been is all. Not pointing at you. While a bit naive, I also read about content patches, lag free servers etc. Tired of empty promises I guess.

you cant craft imperial (1. point) you have to find the motif (but that can any char do).... you can only convert non-set items (or crafted) but then they are bound ... dropped set items are unconvertable (thats my 2. point)

Sofar i love this game. The eso bashing has to stop you played wow? It didnt even have any pvp at all but the zerging of questhubs of the oposite side was horrible. Age of conan? Didnt even have quests above lvl 20 or so. Star wars? No guild bank at all and lots more missing. The list goes on and on. Give em time its a very good game only maybe very naive on the exploiters and bots part from zenimax. Even governments get hacked this is the reality of 2014 how can you blame a game company

as states in imperial preorder its a bonus and not only applied if you play imperial

I dont like to compare games this way. As a producer you should look over your shoulder for what others did wrong, not for ideas of what they did right. Doing so is the wrong mindset imo.

I dont want a clone. I like new things, to explore, diversity and challenge. It's a good attempt by ESO but it launched too quickly.

Simple as that.

If this is the sort of thing that we're going to be seeing in the general discussion forum I'd like the option of an "ignore poster" button. Because most of us recognize that plans for software are subject to change, and that dealing with unexpected problems is not equivalent to "lying". I'm enjoying the game a great deal and find the hostile attitude of the original post to be utterly inappropriate.

Misleading not lying, if you can prove he knowingly lied, then He's in serious trouble. Technically he has to be able to say he had every reason to believe what he was saying was true at the time.

Matt and the crew probably did. Problem is probably the same as with most games, that being investors. Most investors dont give a *** about "down the line" and would rather have 10dollars today than 20 tomorrow.

I don't feel robbed. I feel the subscription I started paying at the beginning of THIS month is the subscription they are always referring to, not the 5 days of early access or the 30 days of in game playtime with purchase or additional 2 days or the other additional 5 days we were given for whatever reasons.

People need to breathe. If you are stuck at VR10 with nothing to do, you are in the top 5% if not less. Good for you, I couldn't, but I don't pass judgement on the way people play, but you played the way you wanted and got there. Many of the rest of us will be lucky to even see VR10 before Craglorn hits in the coming weeks, hence the lack of "OMG we are being cheated!!!" in response to the OP.

The game is a little over 50 days old. Over 40 of those days came so called "free" with the purchase of the game or were gifted by ZOS for the extra long maintenance times and customer appreciation. You have actually only technically "paid" an actual subscription for less than 10 days so far.

Personally, a very happy VR2 player here. Look forward to whatever they release in the future at a reasonable rate and of the same high quality content (minus the bugs).

I don't have any lag and i think they need some time to get into the 4-6 week rhythm.
