If you are over 2000 points, the autoclaimer buys unpurchased stuff. I believe unpurchased currencies are the highest priority items (Outfit Change tokens are a currency of sorts), followed by Premium Tier items, followed by Free Tier items, and I think it works backwards from the end of the Tome (Page 10) to the front (Page 1). The Dwarven mount was a 1000-point Premium Tier buy on Page 5, so it would take priority over Free Tier skill style and Maul outfit piece on the same page. So if the autoclaimer spent down to 2400 on that other stuff (the Outfit Change tokens were on Page 7, btw), then you'd have still been over 2K and the 1000-point mount would have been next in the chute.
But shouldn't keeping the points be the priority? If I kept them, I obviously kept them on purpose! (that's not actually a question for you, I'm screaming into the void and hoping zos decides to make sense next time)

That's why we're saying the claimer needs to be opt-in. Everyone knows it's for people who either forget to claim things, or don't have the ability to due to whatever reason. But what's the point of letting us freely choose what we want to buy vs what we don't if the game is going to just shove it all into our Collections regardless? And losing Transmutes thanks to them not being sent in a Geode, too, if someone is at cap for them.CatalinaWineMixer2 wrote: »If there wasn't an auto claim, all we would be hearing is, "But I didn't get my rewards!"😭 I got everything and got nearly 300k gold back. This is a nice feature. There are people who will receive unclaimed rewards in my Guilds because they didn't even realize the season was ending. And the casual players didn't have to worry about losing anything by knowing they wouldn't be on at the end.
I had understood it would have "been bad" in my view - I'd have preferred to be able to choose myself when to claim those rewards, cause potions and stuff can be useful but at this moment they are just clogging my bank. SO, I claimed everything except for Transmute Crystals (even though I didn't want the mount).
I also made sure to only have 2.500 Transmutes and banked the rest, and what happened? Auto-claimer claimed all Transmutes for me, going to almost the cap 2975. This, to me, is also bad - would I have lost all those transmutes if I was above 2.500? Idk for sure, but definitely would like to have more autonomy over this stuff. Now I have another 475 Transmutes to manage in my Bank, taking another 20 slots. PLEASE remove the cap if you are going to give us all these Transmutes! What's the point otherwise...
You knew this was coming, what are you complaining about…
I "lost" 300 Transmute Crystals cause of autoclaimerI had Premium Version of previous tome and wanted to keep transmute crystals in there for future use when necessary. I didn't think they count as items worthy of auto claim... I would at least make some room for those crystals, but now they are gone.

Yes and we complained then too.
While I feel a tinge of guilt being critical at this time, it's a recurring theme that systems are designed and the players give feedback almost immediately, only for little to nothing to change

Khajiit sees this kind of thing as indicative of either an overworked, understaffed dev team, or a huge amount of red tape required for any fixes found during qa.

It's just unfortunate that engagement takes priority over player choice here.

I think it's moreso that player protection was taking priority. They didn't want anyone to miss out on the collectibles that they had purchased and earned.
ETA
Someone missing out on some coin can easily earn more coin just playing the game at anytime. Someone missing out on a collectible can not get that collectible again by any means for a long time, if it ever even returns. It took 7 years for the Dragon Treasure to return, for example. The collectibles also don't take up a bunch of inventory space. So there are no gameplay issues caused by having unused collectibles, although it can be annoying to sift through long lists.
I get why players want the ability to opt out of auto claim. But I also understand why devs made the decision they did and I don't think it's just engagement. They erred on the side of protecting players.
In development, we discussed other ways to strike this balance of wide paths for progression and encouraging future Season play, such as implementing a hard cap on Tome Points that you can carry at any given time, but we believed that would feel considerably worse. We were already removing this for Event Tickets (now Trade Bars!) and thought it would reduce the fun of picking out the rewards you like most on a Tome.
