I play on PC EU and don't need crossplay.

But I voted yes for the people that want it. And more players online is always better for groups, guilds, dungeon finder, battlegrounds, more stuff on the markets to buy and sell etc. So in general a win.

And I may finally convince my partner to play the game if we can play together, because he only plays games on console and doesn't have a gamepc.

I did not vote because my response would be "Overall don't care, but have some concerns." That is, they have not given us any detail about how character names and such will be handled. While I understand this is unlikely, I am concerned that I might be forced to rename some of my characters or have an ugly "-PC" tag appended to them. It would be nice if ZOS could come out and explain how this will be handled.

Waited for some people to vote before doing it myself as I didn't want to start the poll with a full 100% no, I voted no because I don't think we need this and because of any risk or unwanted change that might happen because of it. My 2 main concerns are as someone else said, the naming situation and how would ZOS handle the voice chat functionality on PC, I don't want any voice chat in ESO because we've never had that on PC, I play on EU where everyone speaks a different language and we all have different accents as well, the text chat makes us all more equal imo. For anyone who wants voice chat there's plenty of options, discord is a very established things for most guilds or groups of friends.

for general playing I think would be a good thing to have. comming to endgame pve, I don't think it will change anything. due to performance differences and the limited addon functionality on consoles the raid groups will still remain seperated.

I voted "no", not because I am opposed to Crossplay, but because I personally don't need it.

I don't mind if it is implemented, if it doesn't affect me, and I'm happy for those that need it for some reason, but I am worried because big changes often introduce new bugs - so for me personally it has no advantage, but holds some risk that it will affect me negatively.

Yes, because people have friends and family who they want to play with, but use different devices.
Solving tech issues related to crossplay means someone is hired to do it, which is also a good thing.

    I cant wait.

I have a few mates who play ESO on Xbox so can team up with them (Im on PS).

Also, BG population isnt great. Crossplay will hopefully allow for quicker pops and bring with it, better games as a bigger population will hopefully mean fairer games with MMR alignments (if they can actually fix their MMR system).

Yes but I have some concerns about it
There can be many technical concerns but the ones I am more worried about are those tied to "human behaviour".
We see on the forum that "fights" can happen over disagreements.
I often hear from people that played on different servers that "oh I left that server because it is so toxic" etc...
I worry more about having to deal with "uneducated" players than all technical issues that could come up.

For example - I don't think the "names problem" is really a problem since it can be solved by putting the platform logo near it. BUT what if I only play with my name on an Xbox account and someone decides to create a PC account with my same name just to impersonate me and cause me troubles? Someone could propose an identificative code attached to the name, but realistically no-one would remember what's anyone's real code.

And yes, this example can already happen today, but it's more unlikely: why would any PC player care of impersonating an Xbox player when they don't even play together?

So, personally, as always, humans scare me more than anything - true IRL, true in Tamriel.

EDIT: have we not recently seen what damage "a crazy person" can do with the add-ons mess? With that said, I still think Crossplay should happen; I'm just worried.

Note: I used AI to help me structure and write out my thoughts for this post due to my disabilities.

    My Vote: No
While having more players to fill out the world sounds good on paper, the practical and technical reality of implementing crossplay in a decade-old MMO like Elder Scrolls Online presents massive hurdles. I don't believe the current infrastructure can handle this transition without severely damaging the player experience. Here is why I voted no:

The Guild Trader Monopoly and Economic Collapse:
The disparity between the PC and console economies is perhaps the biggest "dealbreaker." PC guilds have significantly deeper pockets due to years of higher gold inflation and the use of automated trading tools. If the markets merge, established PC guilds will likely dominate the bidding for every premier trading slot in the game. Console guilds, which operate on a completely different gold scale, would be instantly priced out of top hubs like Elden Root or Mournhold. This would effectively centralize the entire game's economy into the hands of PC trading giants, leaving console players with no way to compete.

The Massive Advantage of PC Add-ons:
This is the "elephant in the room." PC players have access to a vast array of third-party add-ons—from combat metrics and telegraph trackers to market pricing tools like TTC. Console players do not. In a crossplay environment, this creates an inherently un-level playing field. Whether it’s high-end PvE raiding or competitive PvP, one group is playing with a sophisticated HUD and automated data, while the other is playing "blind" by comparison.

    Hardware, Latency, and "Input Power":
True parity is impossible when comparing a console to a properly spec'ed gaming PC. A PC player running at 144Hz with low-latency peripherals has a mechanical advantage in animation canceling and reaction speed. The "input power" of a mouse and keyboard versus a controller—combined with superior hardware—means console players would be at a distinct disadvantage in any high-stakes or competitive setting.

Voice Chat vs. Text Chat Friction:
The social cultures of the platforms are built differently. Consoles rely heavily on native voice chat, whereas the PC community has spent ten years operating as a text-first environment. Forcing these two philosophies together—especially on the EU servers where different languages and accents are a factor—would create immediate social friction. Text chat is the great equalizer; forcing a voice-heavy console culture onto PC would be a nightmare for those who prefer the current system.

Server Stability and Existing Technical Issues:
Finally, we have to look at the current state of the game. We already deal with consistent lag, bugs, and performance dips during peak hours. Asking the server architecture to suddenly handle the massive overhead of synchronizing different hardware protocols in real-time is a recipe for disaster. I don’t believe the game engine can handle the extra "weight" of crossplay without making the existing lag and performance issues significantly worse.

Yes but I have some concerns about it
If I had any influence on this, I would say absolutely no to crossplay :/
But it looks like this is happening regardless, so I just voice my opinion...

The only positive change coming with crossplay might be increasing pool of competent people to pug trials and dungeons with. All other gameplay aspects are absolutely fine (on PC).

Negative is: I see posts about bot infestation on consoles in social media. On PC, last time I saw a bot was many years ago... I absolutely hate the thought of seeing bots again and having to report them instead of playing the game and relaxing :|
Plus, if what people say is true, players on consoles can create accounts endlessly, so with one bot gone, another appears easily?
I really hope developers will have some system to prevent this, so when crossplay actually arrives, gameplay doesn't become worse.

I don't think it is happening regardless. There are a lot of issues to try and do this. ZoS has clearly stated that it definitely will NOT happen in 2026, that they are looking at it, working on it but that there are many issues to it. So I don't think its a given and an honest vote is important.
I too would hate to go through the bot thing again.

I don't believe the current infrastructure can handle this transition without severely damaging the player experience.
Please provide the technical analysis why you think combining server hardware will result in lower performance.
The Guild Trader Monopoly and Economic Collapse:
PCEU survived the disbandment of the largest trade alliance (multiple guilds) without much issues. The impact on prices were minimal. Where do you base that this would be such a big thing if the fall of the largest guild alliance had minimal effect? Do you actually play this game?
The Massive Advantage of PC Add-ons:
You don't play this game, do you? Consoles have addons.
    Hardware, Latency, and "Input Power":
Sure, sure. You are absolutely right. Except with everything, but other than everything, you are right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gx3hVYfALM
Voice Chat vs. Text Chat Friction:
You have a mighty great storm in that teacup.
Asking the server architecture to suddenly handle the massive overhead of synchronizing different hardware protocols in real-time is a recipe for disaster. I don’t believe the game engine can handle the extra "weight" of crossplay without making the existing lag and performance issues significantly worse.
Where do you think the console server hardware goes? Do you think they throw it away?

Can you provide me with the technical papers you have read to show how combining the server hardwares will result in extra "weight" with crossplay?

zenimax nor bethesda can tell psn that they have to change how they account share games so there is no fix to the endless bots that can be made i myself report them over playing the game and if PC can get use of the system to make bot account eso going to be over-flowing with them

if you have a pc and a ps5 and a xbox account? you can cross play with yourself or members of your own household. woo... won't that be fun.

I have no investment in crossplay. I will say this though, consoles will have a clear advantage over pc as they have built in voice chat right? yah sure pc has discord but the reality is i and many people like me will never use discord for the very simple fact that we really don't want to talk to you. if we did we'd be on discord voice chatting about eso instead of using forums here. It will be some trickery though to get all voice chats working together in real time bet that is really the hardest part.

for people saying the game doesnt need this; keep in mind

    a) its standard nowadays
    b) different platforms might have quite different populations and without players the game will perish and you will also not get any other investments in infrastructure, features etc.
    c) adding cross play can take a while and you dont know how platforms will develop based on price moves or company decisions...

so imo it is smart to make the game cross play ready now before you run into a situation where one platform completely falls off

I voted yes because it shows ESO is actively working on longterm keeping ESO alive. It would mean faster Queues for Groupcontent. It will not happen this Year sadly as especially the XBOX EU Server is already pretty dead, half the Traders in Thieves Dens and Overland have actually no Guildtrader, somethis not even the ones in Vvardenfell get all filled, i hope XBox EU survives till the implementation of Crossplay.

This is my concern. It doesn't matter that I have 600+mbs speed connections, it doesn't even matter for those that had 1gb fiber, there is lag everywhere that greatly affects my gameplay especially during combat. If this makes it even slightly laggier, the game is worse off than not having crossplay.
