I just tried this skill with a friend and he said it looked green. He streamed, and sure enough it just looks like the normal skill. Is this intended?

I wouldn't doubt it. Did you know the sound you hear your character make isn't the same soundbite someone else will hear? Like certain grunts, laughs, etc?

I mean that's fine, some of the graphics are depressed versions too, but skill styles should show for everyone, part of the point of having them is to show them off. When I use my purple arc beam, people see a purple arc beam even if the beam doesn't look the same.

I mean okay, should we spend trade bars on great looking mounts that just look like a standard horse to other players? This is really annoying tbh

Probably not intended, so submit a /bug.

The fireball meteor was like that when it first dropped as well, where other players couldn't see it in orange. They fixed that in a later update.

    Oh, really?
I always hoped some weren't visible outside of client side. I'm not using different colors to show off, I'm trying to make a more appealing visual consistency for myself so I'm not shooting rainbows everywhere.
I've seen the class-specific styles on other players, but I don't recall seeing differing styles for things like weapon skills. So I assumed just some were intentionally withheld.

I don't want to see someone's twinkly princess peach sparkles because they're wanting to misguidedly show off. Hopefully that's an option that will be addressed in the VFX setting adjustments.

I noticed that skill style in general wasn’t very blue. It’s mostly the black tendrils which could come off as a murky green? Just throwing that out as a guess.

Yeah, I'm hoping for a client side skill styles toggle that let's us hide other players' skill styles. I want readable combat, not flashy rainbows from everyone that make it hard to tell what skills are being used.
-First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent.
Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

-Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.

-In-game mains abound with "Nerf" in their name. As I am asked occasionally, I do not play on anything but the PC NA Megaserver at this time.

No we both streamed both skills, it is for sure only appearing for the user.

Yep I think this is a recurring bug with skill styles. Also happened to the arcanist ultimate that looked like a jack o lantern. Also has been fixed.

In Roleplay in the past I heard that the varied-song instruments weren't playing the same song for everyone in the group when using the instruments that don't only play one song. Not sure if that is still the case, but that made it harder to react to the songs.

I can confirm that this is fixed on the u50 pts. It's been annoying me for weeks so I'm glad we have an eta on a fix.
