There was someone in Rimmen on XB-NA role-playing a person who shouted all the time. Thankfully, I haven't seem them in a while - that schtick got old really quickly.

And I remember someone posting about a player who was costumed exactly like one of the NPCs (possibly a store merchant?)

I think one of the greatest hits was a guy in area chat who sounded just like Rilis from the Banished Cells. Everyone who wasn't already laughing was uneasy😂

I think an important unofficial rule for role-playing (in any game and format) is it shouldn't be annoying for other people around you, especially those who aren't joining in. That applies to things like shouting at everyone but also things like when someone is tying to ask a serious question and then someone keeps butting in with in-character non-answers like "I know not of these 'video settings' of which you speak, mayhaps a priest would be of aid if your perception of our glorious world of Nirn distresses you so". If you can't find an in-character way to actually answer the question IMO the best "immersion friendly" solution is to decide you don't know what they're talking about and don't want to get involved, or decide since it's in zone chat and not nearby you clearly can't hear them at all.

The example in the OP I think is fine though, because there's no collision on players so they're not actually blocking anything.

I remember a PC who was costumed exactly like the Impresario except one minor detail (I think different earrings) and was named Impostario.

... Also, my daughter's main character looked exactly like Ember, but BEFORE Ember. It was one hell of a confusion when Ember was released, and we both went to unlock her.

I have a character called "Stargazes-Over-The-Edge" that I should play more often to use the stargazer emote on cliff edges. Pairs very well with my habit to practically behave like some Bengal cat and constantly look for high spots or nonsense remote spot to sit at while I wait. Actually found a kill volume in the Halls of Fabrication entrance lobby room the first time I visited because of that. I flabbergasted the rest of my team with that one.

Otherwise I remember dissipating some zone chat nasty debacles by derailing the chat to talk about sauces to pair with chicken strips. Another time a friend made a "Daedric-Prince-Of-Chicken" alt and we went to Vivec city to spread the good word of chicken and some random dude donated my friend a whole stack of 200 chickens.

One time I walked around Solitude in my Skyrim Guard outfit and pretended to be a guard. I did a set patrol and would say stuff like "I used to be an adventurer like you but then I took an arrow to the knee," and "Awww did somebody steal your sweet roll." Got some pretty funny reactions. One dude threw a mud ball and took off running. Another pretended to pay a fine. Some gave me back Skyrim lines like "Have you heard about those warriors from Hammerfell? They have curved swords. Curved swords." Overall, I had a great time when the arrow to the knee adornment was released.
