As we were told ages ago, companions are always completely new characters. The only thing you can hope for is for a bland standard vampire companion.

I hope they reconsider. He was only seen in Greymoor part one. So, you don't run into him anywhere else (not even Castle Ravenwatch). Maybe only have him available after Greymoor...
As for the combat thing, he kind of gets over it toward the end of Greymoor. He could choose to travel with you due to friendship and the fact no matter what he does he can't always escape conflict (it's Tamriel, it's ALWAYS under attack from either daeadra, war, as well as other vampires). He could trust you to keep his worst impulses in check.
Lose rapport if you're a vampire who chooses to feed from the innocent or amidst battle (as he views it as you losing control), a vampire who infects another player, if you choose to go through with 'Blood of the Scion,' harming the innocent in general, using Blade of Woe (even on enemies), anything Dark Brotherhood related, stealing, ect (to where he chooses to discontinue traveling with you).
You'd gain rapport with him by drinking/crafting Purifying Bloody Mara, brewing health potions, gathering alchemy ingredients, finding lore books, killing bloodfiends and enemy vampires, choosing to cure yourself of vampirism, helping people, ect
It would give them a chance to flesh out his character a bit without having to start over completely (by creating a brand new companion). He's not as well established or integrated deep within the game as other npcs (Raz, Darien, Jakarn, Naryu, ect).

They could have it separate. His class would be Sorcerer, and his vampire abilities would be similar to the players (skill-wise as well as being separate from his class abilities).

But I do hope we get an interesting male vampire companion sometime. Pretty sure a lot of people would lose their minds (in a good way) over a male high elf vampire haha.

LOL yes I'd prefer a not evil vampire, but I know many peeps wouldn't mind an actual evil one either.
Honestly regardless of what morality they have, ZOS would print money with a high elf vampire dude companion.
If we finally got a male high elf companion, and it turned out he was a vampire, I'd be annoyed. Not 'lose my mind' annoyed, but probably not inclined to care about the companion.

I'm not the biggest fan of vampires either. If we did get a vampire companion, I hope we'd get a chance to cure them (or not, as the player may decide).
I do think it would be odd to see hundreds of Fennorians running around if he was already a part of several story quests.
And if he's as popular as he seems, they should add more lines and emotes/animations to the Fennorian houseguest, rather than release him as a companion.

They couldn't take my money fast enough, lol. I'd just enjoy having a really cool (well written) vampire companion (Altmer or Dunmer male). Hell, that's why I bought Baldur's Gate 3, not going to lie lol. I saw there was a romanceable male High Elf Vampire and was like, 'SOLD!' Lol. Plus, it was really cool that he could feed from you, that's the only game (that I know of) that gives you that option. Would have been a cool option to have in Skyrim with Serana (for those that wanted to romance her). I also think there should have been special interactions and different dynamic if she's the one who turned you.
So, if they ever come out with a vampire companion (I think there should be a male and female) I hope that's something they take into consideration. There's a LOT they could do with it. Cool interactions and dynamics. It'd also be a neat way to gain vampirism, build up a high enough rapport to where they turn you. It'd be better than getting infected by random bloodfiends or standing around the alter for some random player to turn you...

I'd be okay with that as well, just as I think the option to turn your companion into a vampire/werewolf would be really neat. It could also potentially harm (even ruin) your relationship with your companion depending on their ideals and personality (Bastion and Isobel for example would HATE you for it). It'd add an interesting sire dynamic, and it could open up more possibilities for story and companion interactions.
For those that don't want a vampire companion, you could always choose not to recruit or use them.
As for seeing 'hundreds' of Fennorians running around, that ship has already sailed with all of the duplicate companions running around. As for story goes, that's another matter. Maybe have it to where you can only recruit him after all story content containing him has been completed. Or have it to where you are unable to summon him if you're doing a quest/story that involves him (he'd disappear if summoned) to avoid any weirdness. Same with how he's unavailable as a houseguest (he has a projection in his stead explaining his absence) if currently on certain questlines.

Since I'd already done all of the Fennorian quests before getting him as a houseguest, I had no idea that explanation existed. That's a pretty neat detail!
