[Suggestion] Please Make Fennorian, or a Vampire, a Future Companion

I wanted to show an example of the type of Companion I had asked for a few times in the past, so I searched Google and found an image that fit the vision of what I wanted. Players post images and memes on the forums all the time so I didn't see a problem with it.

As far as being AI generated, I didn't even know there was such a thing and that it was frowned upon. I only posted an image that looked like any other to me.

There’s nothing wrong with posting an AI image as a reference point in a forum conversation.

PS. Personal note to @thejadefalcon: your claim that AI-generated images inherently constitute copyright infringement is inaccurate. Copyright law specifically protects particular expressions or finished works, not broad stylistic influences or generalized “training data.”

Moreover, your suggestion that users must closely scrutinize every online image for subtle imperfections to avoid accidentally sharing AI content is unrealistic and unreasonable. It’s simply not practical—or necessary—for users to perform a detailed forensic analysis before posting a casual reference image in a forum discussion.

If your argument is primarily ethical rather than legal, then that’s a separate conversation. But asserting that AI images are universally “stolen” or legally infringing misunderstands both copyright principles and the technological realities of generative AI.

The question is, would the Companion's Vampire skill line replace one of the Class skill lines (the way Tanlorin substituted the Soul Magic skill line in place of the Dragonknight damage dealer skill line) or would it be a separate skill line in the World category, the way players have it?

They could have it separate. His class would be Sorcerer, and his vampire abilities would be similar to the players (skill-wise as well as being separate from his class abilities).

If they would integrate it into his 'custom class' I'd make his vampiric abilities different from the players, more support oriented. A mix of unique vampire abilities and an alchemy-based class. Personally, I'd prefer if they did this. As I think his vampirism as well as his interest in alchemy could make for a very unique companion. I'd like if vampirism was the focus (his actual class) rather than there as an afterthought. He should actually feel like a vampire companion rather than just another sorc (Ember) or nightblade (Mirri).

I always think of him more as a Templar, given his healing abilities, so that was the class I made my Fenn alt.

Here's some Verandis fan art. I think a vampire that looks like a younger version of Verandis might be cool. But, not too young. Maybe someone in their 30s - 40s. Our companions mostly seem pretty young or much older, so someone in that age range would be cool.

The artist would be stormfrei(@riddleborn) on Instagram. It's good to credit artists so they can be found and appreciated :)

I did credit them. If you click the source link, you can see the original artist on Reddit. Also, that's not the user's name on Reddit.

I saw it after my post, not sure if it was there at first. So I kept the credit since not only is it nice to put their name directly at the art so people see it directly, but also because reddit has a lot of repost bots and whatnot. It do seem to be the artist reddit account (and if you click their profile the name stormfrei also appear) but they don't seem to be active on it. So thought good mention their instagram which has the most activity.

I think a vampire character would be neat and I'd like to see one that has a similar vibe to that AI image, debate about AI aside (as that is not the topic of this thread). I'm a big fan of House Ravenwatch, but I understand that the they are unlikely to be able to used as companions. So, let's make a new Ravenwatch member that is able to be used!

I'd be all for a brand-new vampire companion, even one that wasn't part of House Ravenwatch. As long as they're written well and look cool. :)

If we get a Vampire Companion, please let them have some unique dialogue if the player is also a Vampire. Isobel Veloise comments on your vampirism when you talk with her, and as far as I know she is the only Companion to do so.
EDIT: I did forget that Zerith-var has some lines for when you do Vampire-related things, but I was referring to how Isobel just knows you're a vampire when you are just talking with her.

The same goes with a Werewolf Companion — I want a fellow werewolf to recognize that my character also has lycanthropy. Many, many werewolves in this game recognize others with lycanthropy, so it'd be strange if a Werewolf Companion didn't recognize that the player was also a Werewolf.

So in other words we are supposed to examine every image we see online for a lot of vague imperfections and become proficient at recognizing something that we may have never even heard of before?

Frankly, if you think it's vague, you might need to go to Specsavers.

Nobody can tell you what you can and cannot post in these forums, other than the mods.

    Thank you.

No, but if you post something highly controversial, you should expect some push back. Defending it with "but it's not not allowed" is not an argument.

I thought you'd have learned that from the pushback when you complained about Tanlorin, claiming it was "forced politics" and how you wouldn't use them specifically because they're nonbinary. Weirdly, that same thread, you claimed you didn't want ZOS to give companions a set gender identity or inform you of it (you just want them to "do a good job fighting by my side"), yet here you are, yet again, begging for a male companion for you to fictionally romance.

I find it fascinating how you are so disinterested in anything other people feel, but your opinion simply has to be inputted into every single thread. I'd go so far as to call it trolling, with how common it is.

@SilverBride isn't alone in disliking Tan for those reasons. There are people on reddit who agree. I also feel she was unnecessary and poorly written. I also choose not to use her. Her personality (and voice) annoys me in general. [snip]

That said, Tan (and AI) is not the topic of this thread...this thread is about the possibility of adding a well written three-dimensional vampire companion (a well written companion in general) in the future. Preferably male or possibly two companions (male and female of opposing moralities). Same with werewolf companions. As well as the possibility of romancing companions in the future as that'd be a really nice feature! If implemented correctly of course...

Agreed. I liked how Isobel and Zerith acknowledges it. It annoys me when not even the vampire characters recognize you as one. Or werewolves. I also think vampires and werewolves should be able to recognize each other as well...It'd be immersion breaking for sure if your vampire (or werewolf) companion failed to recognize you as one...

Long ago, when we only had 2 Companions, I had Bastian with me as I headed from Sleek Creek House into Rawl'kha. As we approached town I was really surprised to hear Bastian announce "I like Vampires!"

I thought that was really cool until I realized he had really said "I like campfires!"

    So just a quick rundown of ideas presented on this thread;

Werewolf/Vampire Companions of Each Gender (Male/Female) Preferably

One of the Vampire Companions Should be an Aristocratic Altmer Male (Preferably with Long Hair)

    Possible Romanceable Feature for Companions

The Option to Cure or Infect Companions with Lycanthropy or Vampirism

The Option for a Companion Cursed with Vampirism/Lycanthropy to Infect You

Possible Sire Dynamics (Depending on Who Sired Whom)

Cursed Companions Should Recognize Player Character if Vampire or Werewolf

Vampirism and Lycanthropy Should Impact Companions' Stories and Interactions with You

The Option to Customize Our Companions Looks/Features (Not Race/Gender), With Exceptions to Lore Specific Features (Tanlorin's Tattoos and Zerith-Var's Eyes) As It Would Add Much Needed Variety as Well as Suit the Player's Preferences (Would be a MUST if Romance was Ever Added)

More Depth Added to Companions and Interactions in General

    I'm with ya there, lol

There's just something hot about a male High Elf Vampire...

Jokes aside; Altmer/Dunmer men look REALLY good with long hair! A few hairstyles would look really good; long straight hair, long wavy hair, or pulled back into a low ponytail for an aristocratic look (would look especially good on an Altmer male).
