Over the years, several ESO maps have had their fog reduced compared to the base game. For those who might not know, fog refers to the haze in the distance that obscures the background, making objects and parts of the scenery visible only within a specific range.
Here, a image with the fog:

Fog made a lot of sense in the base game when it was released, as it helped hide object pop-ins and parts of the scenery. However, as technology has evolved, we've seen in more recent maps that the fog is significantly reduced.

My question is: if the base game maps are being updated, why not increase the fog distance? I mean, it’s clear that you’ve improved the textures of distant scenery—mountains and rocks are more detailed now—so there’s no reason to hide them behind a mysterious desert fog, right?

At the very least, an option to reduce fog would be interesting. I feel that not only I but the majority of players would appreciate such a feature! The world feels larger, and the scenery more vibrant! I understand the importance of fog as an artistic vision, but I also think it becomes problematic when we're tied to a 2014 limitation
