Does anyone know the exact moment when the book "Bogcup's Letter from Hyacinth" appears during the first Tanlorin quest? I'm at the beginning of the quest, I've already met the wizard Hyacinth but I haven't found the book in my inventory yet... If I have to restart the quest... I'd like to know right away... Thanks everyone!

It's from the start of the third quest iirc.

correct me if im wrong but all cards upgrade have fixed locations.
when i was grinding on the clue i'd use multiple toons to do the dailies then transfer any clue i get to my main toon.
they can be stored in banks and they can have duplicates if you dont keep track of them.

if you're still undecided you can read the clue without getting the card upgrade (so it stays in your inventory) and it'll still count as read in your journal

Oh, it's just that I was away for like an entire year, and when I left if you actually consumed the clue (to upgrade), you could never drop it again on your account and your alt characters had no way of getting it, so I've been saving g the clue books in my bank for my alt Characters but my tot deck is pretty basic lol. If they now have fixed locations this is great! I'll check on an alt

semi-late reply. by all means dont consume (as in the small chest that the clue leads you to) yet if youre still unsure. just read the clue that's in your inventory. that's it. it'll still be registered in your lorebook

Head's up, be sure to be on the toon that you want to have read the books under Elusive Manuscripts when tracking down the Achievement Tracker of the Temporal Tomes. Once read the books disappear from their spawn points and cannot be read by other toons.
apologise for two replies in a row. but to bring back attention to this (selfishly, because it just happened to me).
would this be considered a bug? i get that discovering it should be a one time thing, like every other fragments for skill line cosmetics and achievements. but this in particular is also a part of eidetic memory, which is repeatable depends on how many toons you have.
and which category would it fall in if i were to submit a ticket? is Feedback/Bug > Gameplay > Crash/Block Progress correct?

Just to add to your comment, I can't find these at all either on my alt.

Edit 2: confirmed, it doesn't appear for alts. Only one of the books was readable for my main, I read it and then checked on an alt and it wasn't there anymore. Reported as a bug on items - other because I was not sure on what to put

Looks like I'll end 2024 with these missing as they are bugged/unavailable post quest

    Companion's Correspondence
Auridon Target Brief (did not know they snuck it into quest items that you had to read manually, no post location)

    Orsinium Archive
Kharstun's Translation, Second Stanza (had it, then it was gone, clear BUG)

    The Reach Reader
Journal of Dionus Tutor (either bugged or one of those that snuck into quest inventory and had to read manually, no post locaton)

    West Weald Writings
Letter from Aradros (not sure, bugged or just no post location ?)
Y'ffre's Hymm (not sure, bugged or just no post location ?)

Such a pity that it remains a problem to even get this complete. Happy NY everyone

Also add Tanlorin’s Bird Note, as that either doesn’t always appear in inventory or is bugged.

Sadly, easily missable BECAUSE not only does it appear in quest inventory for a short time, you also have to use specific dialogue options with tanlorin AFTER talking to the bird for it to show up in the first place.

And "Snapdragon's Burnt Notes". Didn't appear during the quest and no post-quest location.

That i didn’t know - I tried to check obsessively for lore. I also saw a thread suggesting that it didn’t always appear in the inventory either.

It appears, but by the fireplace during the quest when we go to the cottage in Auridon -> Firsthold.

Would someone be able to tell me what are the dialogue options you have to chose?

Can we get the first book of Zerith-var (Letter to Zerith-var) if we missed reading it when put in our inventory?

I still can't find it anywhere post quest.

Others may be able to confirm but someone mentioned all his books are in the location where you first meet him (can't remember where that is exactly but it is still accessible).

Just a note, "Letter to Zerith-var" is not the first quest book, it's an invitation from the third of four his quests, Paths Out Of Darkness. Could be somewhere you go during that quest, though I ran through a couple spots and only found the Summons of the Inquisition.

I'm missing these from Companion Correspondance:
