Does anybody know where to find:
    Daedric Cults
    Ressurection and Revelation
    Summons to the Remnant
    Worm Cult Journal

    Military Orders and Reports
    Guildmaster Merric's Notes
    Letter from the Fighters Guild
    ?
I believe these are related to the U46 prologue quest, which is not yet available. Probably after April 10th.

I'm missing a few books, most of them are books related to a quest I did in duo and it was the other person who picked it up, and for me it disappeared. Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Gray Host Communique
    Courier Grenier's Note
    Pilfered Poison
    Cerise's Farewell Note
    Tenarei's Contact

that's stupid, right? I mean, because you play an MMO with a friend/girlfriend/boyfriend you have to watch out for such things instead of just enjoying the game, you can find information somewhere that all books or notes are available after completing a quest which is completely untrue. I wrote this before, the answer I got from support was "Collect these books on another character", maybe they don't know that eidetic memory is assigned only to the character, not to the account.

edit:This is why I stopped actively playing after 10 years.

I think the problem is that the books have been in varying quest stages across multiple different released versions. As a completionist I hate having it sit there with always a few missing, but then I think how long it would take a developer to make sure that all books work for everyone no matter what quest stage they are at. Yes, we have both completed the quests. Can we say what version we did that quest, probably not? So the developers will have to trawl back 45 versions of the game to find when the book first existed, look through the relevant quest, and work from there. I imagine that is pretty time consuming. Also, it's probably just under the floor somewhere in the game where we can't reach it, so the coding may be correct but the location isn't. Who knows..

this is such a dismissive answer from them. imagine going to an autoshop for a wiper replacement only to be told to just buy a whole new car. what is this logic?

i will say the person above me is right and i need to have more grace.
but let's say they've settled on making every relevant books available somewhere post quest. i still cant see how that'll affect other quests in a meaningful way. they're just little things for the type A person like me (and evidently everyone in this thread) to enjoy collecting and be satisfied with the "hardwork" that i put in

And yet there are people in this thread who INSIST, even after it being explained in detail several times, that it's the easiest task to fix and should be given maximum priority over everything else (or even that there are no other things of note to fix) :)

So someone, not CS, not a mod, not a dev, but a random player, says one thing and you take as it is how things work?

Also, Gina Bruno said like two years ago that they would make sure, from Firesong update and on, that all books would be available post quest.

That never happened and books situation is exactly the same as before Gina's comment.

So, maybe it's kind of more difficult for previous books? I can accept that, but the fact that this keeps happening with new books (so when they create the content and quests they FORGET to add a copy of the books post quest), that's not acceptable.

That's just forgetting doing that, and so then it becomes more difficult, just because they forgot doing it on the first place.

All this is true. I would add that not only they forget to put a copy of the post-quest books, there are actually TWO BOOKS that are not present in the game at all: "Y'ffre's Hymn" and "Letter from Aradros", they were never present even for a day. Not to mention "Kharsthun's Translation, Second Stanza", which was known before U43 and then (after some changes by the devs) became unknown and impossible to know for those who have already done the quest. These are INEXCUSABLE mistakes. Also... no one is talking about possible fixes, in fact, they are not talking about anything at all.

We have three books again that are not listed in memory. Its Tomes of life beyond death from Entropy skill style achievement. I suspect they will be added retroactively. I also suspect that after this they will not be counted for any of us and there is no way to add them to the collection anymore.

OF COURSE it's not the easiest task if they forget to do it in the first place, update after update, after update, after update, after update... after every single update they forget to add books or copies with the released content.

If the set of books on the bookshelves is not updated every time you come into location / log in game / every day, try to do this after the nearest server maintenance.

    From today's patch notes:

    • The following books can now be read in their original locations after completing their associated quest:

    • Kharsthun's Translation, Second Stanza
    • Naliara's Notes, Day 2, 8, 13, and 18
    • Additionally, the Folly of Man now has a second spawn location in Alinor, on a table at the Gilded Fork.

By the way, Kharsthun's Translation, Second Stanza is in Wrothgar, all the way up Sorrow mountain, on an altar inside Torug's Shrine.

Post-quest: Bogcup's Letter from Hyacynth is in the greenhouse... behind the ritual mundus stone in Malabal Tor. You'll also find Tanlorin's Bird Note there.
