I don't understand why players need to change between a dozen sets of gear all the time. I have one build for each of my characters and that is all I use and I get by very well.

My main is sometimes a healer and sometimes DPS. I have a solo build for PvP and a group build. For a while I had two group builds so I could change depending on other members of the group. I also have my overland build but for that I can use my trial gear if I wanted.
When we are forming a group I don't always know what my role will be. With the armory system it is easy to switch to a new role but only if you carry your gear with you. I don't have any inventory issues but I do have a few characters that at times have five different gear sets with them.
That is why I would like to be able to put gear that is part of an armory set in the bank and when I load the build part of that load is grabbing the gear automatically out of my bank. Wouldn't require any more slots than I have now they would just have to work different. I think there are other issues with the game that should take priority but still think this would be cool if there is no impact on performance.

In a perfect world, the armory itself would store the gear for each build so it would not even have to take up bank space.

One player's norm is not another player's norm. For your playstyle that may be sufficient, for those playing in groups that need certain buffs and utility, or content that has different type of fights (trash pulls, single target fights multiple boss target fights and so on), they need to swap and coordinate sets to be effective.

I do play plenty different, I figure you must do end game stuff. Curious as to how many sets you keep in your bags ?

I'm a casual player so I have just the one set I wear. And then I have another set in a storage box for when I want to thieve.

@Juju_beans for instance on one of my main PvE DDs I have 13 (5pc) sets for the current patch, and on two alt DDs 10 each. That's excluding, monster sets, mythics and arena weapons they have on them, so they do end up needing a lot of inventory space. And then there's all the extra sets for certain strategies in trials, and also past meta golded gear sitting in the bank... Elder Inventory Management Online

No. It's just strongly implied. If that's not what you meant to imply by saying "the problem is more about playstyle, rather than storage" then could you clarify that?

Sure, you left out the word 'perhaps'.

Including that word opens up the statement for readers to contemplate the idea for themselves.

Why not create a Survey NPC that can be purchased for Crowns, similar to the Ragpicker, that will buy and gather Surveys for a small fee, maybe 25% of the returned mats gathered.

    I would buy this immediately!

    That's another good idea.

I recall noting something like this before. I completely agree that it would eliminate the problem.

Many of expected replies said I was expecting things to be handed to me and that resetting the nodes was not that hard.

I find it very funny that so many complain that the game caters to casuals, yet we don't get things like this!

Ok... perhaps, yes. Where would you draw the line ? What gear and skills would you recommend me to use, to not give my DD's and tank false confidence and solve my inventorry problem?

I deconned all my inefficient builds years ago and never looked back.
You realy have to be more specific here. What counts as inefficient and what not ?
Spellpower cure for exemple, is it inefficient because i can just use olorime ? Should i get rid of it ?
Where do i draw the line ? How do i determine the efficiency of gear ?

I retain the view that your choice of keeping a large array of stuff that you hardly use is not justification for more space.
Thats a quantity vs quality argument.
I may not use it often but when i use it, it's very effective.
So i retain the view that the existence of a large array of highly effective niche sets IS justification for more space.
Because i'm certainly not gonna spend 3 hours farming crystals and port out of an dungeon to reconstruct some gear, just to destroy it 5 minutes later again. That would be crazy! Talk about inefficiency!!!

DDs lack of knowledge and experience will eventually show in Vet dungeons where it apparently becomes quite clear.
Please read what I wrote before you reply.
Again: Low CP has nothing to do with "lack of knowledge and experience". If you or I or anyone here put our CP to 200 we would get oneshot just the same, no matter our knowledge and experience.

I have to agree. I'm a proponent for keeping the crafting bag linked to ESO Plus but I really do think we need separate quest item storage and, maybe, don't have master writs take up inventory/bank storage as well. I don't do master writs too often, I usually save them for events that I can benefit from using them, so they tend to fill up my storage way too quickly. As a non-subscriber, that makes it a lot harder for me to manage storage space. And, of course, the scribing stuff doesn't help matters (for those of you who have Gold Road, that is).

So I have been thinking about storage. And I've been thinking about what those, including me, who want more storage space would be willing to compromise on. Like for example if ZOS were to move storage space to an external database to make more space possible, which takes 3-5 seconds to access(similar to armory), would you be ok with that?
Would you be ok with it if ZOS added, lets say 5k bankslots(with possibility for future increases), but in order to do so accessing the bank now takes 3-5 seconds to open? Would that be fine with you?
Would you be ok with it if ZOS added 500 inventory slots(with possibility for future increases), but if access to the inventory would now take 3-5 seconds to open?

Personally I wouldn't mind a delay when accessing the bank, as long as the amount of extra slots is worth it(5k+). So for the bank I would not mind a compromise/delay when accessing. But I do feel the inventory should always be instant, as it is now. So for the inventory I would mind a compromise/delay when accessing.

Note: I'm not sure if this is even possible with how the game works, just wondering, as it may give ZOS similar ideas on how to increase storage space and about what is possible while keeping the playerbase in mind.

PS: Something similar could be done for more character slots. Personally I wouldn't mind if the character selection screen takes longer to open.

Inventory and bank are connected, though, aren't they? That's why I can deconstruct gear that's both in the bank and in the inventory seamlessly.

Any sort of delay to accessing inventory would kill the game just because it happens so often. Sheer frustration would drive all players away.

Great considerations. I agree with delay on bank being a nice compromise to get more space, but I see Czeri is noting too. Plus this is a compromise for us, but the people not needing space would only feel the negative, and oppose it a lot, because they'd be too inconvenienced by it without gaining anything. I also agree that inventory shouldn't be delayed.
Something that could help out a good deal for me, is to increase the guild bank size. That is stored in some way thay gives a delay, and it's inconvenient that things don't stack, but ot'd still be a help to double it.

I still don't think it's too much to ask for more bank and inventory space under the current conditions (without delays, and with so many sets, and demands for inventory space, especially if you play multiple characters), or good solutions to storage of various categories, like the document folder for maps and surveys that some are suggesting.

At the top of my storage wishlist - and it is the most important QoL for me too - is storage space in one of the three following forms.
    A) Ordinary inventory space. The 5 slot pets were nice, but add one for every chapter at least.
B More bank space, I don't mind a high gold price at all, it's okay that it comes at a gold premium.
    C) Furnishings bag. On the demands side of things this is a positive because it'll stop people from using homes as warehouses, and placing 20 of a furnishing in a house has takes a whole lot more server space than having it in a bag where the number goes from 19 to 20 when I dig another one up (no it's not void crystals, I won't need 20 of those). On the downside, it will make it more convenient to hoard more furniture, so there'll be more items than in the warehouses. On the other upside it'll make a lot of people very happy.

Edit: my B point turned into an emote with sunglasses goddammit. Sorry for the inconsistent lack of a parenthesis.

Other ways to save space instead of adding more bank/inventory slots:
-Master writ bag. (most important to me, would save me the most space)
    -Furniture bag.
-Survey holder. (third most important to me)
-Armory gear storage. (second most important to me, as all my characters have multiple armory builds, three or more)
-Soul gems turned into one soul gem or very large stack size.
    -Potion bag.
    -Motif/style page holder.

I can understand holding onto Master Writs until a double XP event but besides that I see no reason to hold onto them or Surveys. If someone is not doing them then why do they even bother with them and why create a special bag for them to just collect dust? Virtual dust that is.

Survey maps build up fast. It's not a matter of them not getting done, but that they populate faster than they are completed.

If a player were to do all their surveys when they receive them, a sizable chunk of the gaming session will be eaten by surveys alone when the player would rather be out doing Dungeons, PvP, Trials, Questing, etc.. So many players opt to designate 1 day a week to completing surveys to free up time to just "Play the game" (so to speak) the rest of the week. But by the time that one day of the weeks comes around, so many surveys have accumulated that it becomes tedious hopping all over Tamriel to complete them all.

So what to do? It's much more efficient to let the surveys continue to accumulate, then on Surveys Day, take only those that have a stack of 5 or more. That way you can just go to let's say 5 different locations and complete 25 surveys in a much shorter amount of time than it would take to go to 25 seperate locations to do 1 at a time. This method is much easier for the player, and much less of a hassle. The flip side though is that the player will build up quite the extensive library of surveys.

So what to do? Keep doing surveys one at a time and have significantly less time to just enjoy the game? Or take the more efficient approach but take a big chunk out of the bank space? I'm sure based on how many players want to see a solution to storage for Survey Reports, it's not difficult to guess which approach a majority of the players prefer to take.

[edit] The same conundrum applies to T-Maps as well. Those drop at a gawd-awful rate, especially if you have Azandar's token.

I can take 1-2 hours gathering surveys in even one zone. Gathering multiples needs to be optimized, but instead we have the stupid "travel a uncertain distance away to rest" part of it.

I have suggested many times that surveys should be located in the highest alliance zone for the character. This restricts the zones to only three at most (the three alliances) for max-level characters. If a player is doing writs on lowbies, then that adds a zone until they level up the character.

It could also be Craglorn for all writs, making things even more accessible to harvest writs.

I do not know how someone thought it was a good idea to spread the writs across so many zones.

The need to reset the nodes for each survey was also a very poor design decision, since it can only be done by leaving the area. That makes harvesting even a stack of 10 a real pain!

Something had to be done to reset the area, which is much better than logging out. While taking that few-second ride away and back may not be enjoyable, it is probably the best solution.
Or ZOS could let us right click -> "use" surveys to spawn them one by one manually. No more leaving the spot or riding back/forth. (And ofcourse show survey/treasure map locations on the map once the player has found them atleast once. For the no add-on/console users QoL)

Zenimax had to fix a survey exploit a few years back before I started here. I expect they would be concerned about making changes. Especially changes that if players did their surveys more regularly, the issue would not be an issue. After all, this is not really a gameplay issue.
