Oh yeah, that's that thing I tuned off after a week playing...
Right click chat > options > un-tick zone box...
there IS a post in offical news section about them emptying Ignore lists of the banned accounts to make room. when i find it ill post the linkI noticed a lot of room on my Ignored List today. I added a bunch of new goldfarmer spammers to it. This makes me believe that all the clutter that has been previously clogging up my ign
You never played FFXIV on releaseI swear, never in my 10 years life as an MMO player have I seen so many and different gold spammers. This is like The Gold Spammers Online. I have 10 gold spammers in my ignore list, which is astonishing considering these are actually 10 accounts as ignores are account wide not just for each character, and the game doesn't have expendable trial accounts that can get banned.
I haven't noticed any gold spammers as I have the Spam Filter addon from Curse.com, which automatically adds them to ignore the second it appears, but with the 5 guilds I'm in the chat doesn't really concern me all that much.
Of course it will be different if I start to receive the gold spammer ingame mails.
- This is a HUGE point, it takes away the alibi every other MMO uses, which is the alleged large number of staff needed to monitor every zone on every server. And the best part - there are only 2 megaservers, so, once it's done, it's done - it's not like this live gm would need to check 30 realms like in WoW.
Fact is, it should only take one person per server, looking at the chat logs with a rudimentary filtering system, who could ban-on-sight the perfectly obvious spam.
But no, ZOS seem intent to let this happen.

My ignore list is already full

And for the same reason there is ZERO spammers and bots in the VR zones
The solution is easy

I'd like to see a feature that EQ2 has.
/report name
Either this, or add it to the right click menu like other games do.
What /report does there is it captures the last X lines of chat text in your chat log and sends it along with the offender's name to the GM department. This way there's no hunting down chat logs and time stamps. It's all right there for their glory to see.
And ban.
Hard.
Beat dat azz with the ban stick.
