and here is this thread still up with ZERO moderation. It should have been nuked right away. Not closed, not moderated, but nuked. Deleted. No warnings necessary for anyone participating, just delete it. It has no place on this forum. I don't understand what's going on?

First, this thread has been moderated and the most transphobic posts have been edited or removed. Regardless, just because you think something isn't transphobic doesn't mean that it actually isn't. And if you have been reading the thread since the beginning and saw some of the worst posts before they were removed, well, then that tells me all I need to know.
Secondly, Leona wasn't fired, she was forced to resign as part of an agreement with ZoS. This is not something that companies tend to do when they could just fire an underperforming employee for cause.
Third, wanting a thread to be deleted is censorship, the exact same thing that you are accusing others of. It appears that you want this issue to be hidden because discussing it makes you uncomfortable. Well, it would make others uncomfortable if it was swept under the rug
I've had a couple threads in the past, started by me, mattered to me, and deleted for one reason or another and no one got up in arms about it on my behalf. Why should other threads get such special treatment when they blatantly violate the ToS here?
This is a very strange type of logic to me. This thread should be deleted because yours were also deleted in the past? I don’t know what yours were about but what you are effectively saying here is that you agree with ZOS deleting your threads in the past. Interesting stance to take.
Just saying, rules should be rules, no matter the topic.
Exactly... The rules clearly state that Inappropriate Content and Language (Real-world religion and politics) aren't allowed on the forums... yet this thread is still up..

The following rules have been broken on this thread:
- Abusive Language and Disruptive Behavior
- Bashing and Slanderous Comments
- Conspiracy Theories and Misinformation
- Demands and Threats
- Flaming
- Hate Speech
- Inappropriate Content and Language (Real-world religion and politics)
- Naming-and-Shaming
- Rude and Insulting Comments
- Thread Bumping
- Trolling or Baiting
Why make the rules when they're not going to be enforced?
1 Shut it down and lose customers, potentially a large number, no real way to predict that. The people with real attachment to this issue may very well speak with the wallet.
2 leave it open the people complaining it's not shut down will continue to play the game, but be mad about this thread.
3 Revenue is king, don't fool yourself. They made these rules, they are not a social contract or bill of rights. They can ignore them at will, who would stop them?
Were not entitled to an answer... just like whenever we report a player ingame.. were not entitled to hear the results. They specifically say it in their auto-reply: "To protect individual privacy, we do not disclose the outcome of our investigation."
This is between Leona Faren, ZOS/Bethesda/Microsoft, and the courts. I highly doubt for a moment that a large number of people are going to quit the game over a thread being closed.
What if my Religion forbids me from participating such behavior and thus forbids me from supporting it? Does their rights supercede my rights? To tell me how to think and feel?
Good and Evil are just different points of views.
Some consider the act of homosexuality good, others consider it evil.
So are you implying that being Trans is a medical condition such as gender dysphoria, schizophrenia, or bipolar? Or is it a gender identity? Because it can not be both.
Eww. Unions are just the HoAs of the work place. Enough of my paychecks are deducted as is.

Ah yes the evil unions that helped you get sick days, 8 hour work days, etc...

Yes, that's another good point: Many trans people realize it already in their childhood before they ever felt attracted to anyone, so sexual attraction can't be an explanation.
Also, I'd like to add that that the whole "child with male body likes to wear dresses" thing (an example I see quite often) doesn't mean that there's a natural relation between women and dresses. That's nonsense. It's about cultural attributes. The child sees that girls often wear dresses, so it wants to wear one too because it identifies as belonging to the group of girls. And that's an individual thing, too; some trans women don't care for feminine clothing at all, and wearing feminine clothing doesn't neccessarily mean that a person identifies as a woman either.

(I suggest you look up Ray Blanchard. I don't want to repeat his research and theories here because they're a hot topic, but it could give you food for thought and lead you down other avenues.)

So, you lastly stated you do not support the theories of Blanchard but named him only as an example. Any other suggestions which authors and studies to read, then? Ones you find plausible? Or anyone else who has a suggestion?

How they exercised that discretion to enforce the rules and the community's inability to stay on topic sets a grim precedence. This thread, including deleted comments, should be studied by ZOS to determine the direction they want to take this community and how to properly respond to situations like this in the future.

I still haven't said what I personally think of Blanchard's theories. I've merely encouraged people to use him as a starting point (because he's widely quoted, both in support of him and to refute him, so you can't help but come across him if you start to dig into the area) and to do their own research.
As for what I do think of Blanchard's theories or who else to look into, nah, I'm done. I'll take a cue from the moderators, who wisely deleted our last exchange on this topic, and also because I was being personally attacked for no reason (not by you).
I encourage you to do what I encouraged people to do regarding Blanchard (and I still encourage people to do that, rather than to put any stock into what someone else is telling you his theories are about): do your own research.
And now I'm really out of this thread. Put words in my mouth. Do whatever you want. I won't be reading this thread again.

Then it's even more outrageous considering Maryland is very progressive.
