I don't have a sub so it's nice getting to keep it for free, but ultimately I think the quality of the DLC would have been better if it wasn't free, same with Deadlands. I'd rather pay and get a good DLC like CWC, Markarth, and so on. The only free good DLC was Murkmire [snip] but those days are long behind us it seems.

TBH, I would've preferred the plushies from the stream as an award for being a plus subscriber. But, that's just me wanting a physical item instead.

I am happy that players who might not be able to do so otherwise, can now enjoy it. Especially since I think High Isle is by far the best chapter they released, so free access to the end of year DLC doesn't sound like a punishment to me.
In short, not everything is about me. If not for yourself, at least be happy for others.

I have ESO+, and when I don't have ESO+ it's because I'm not playing at all and taking a break.

This is reward is worthless to me.

Give me a house and I'd be happy.

I have ESO + , so ...no, I am NOT happy 2 years in a row and now am questioning my sanity in even continuing my sub. Seems all the displeasure that was expressed last year never was heard.

I mean, they don't HAVE to do anything... Could it be improved? Maybe. Am I happy with what I am getting for free? Yes.

This is true. I've seen the threads complaining about daily rewards not being good enough for some. But this is a very different situation.

If everyone had gotten a pet I'd still not like it but at least everyone would have gotten something of equal value. ESO+ players had one of the perks they pay a monthly subscription for just given to those who don't for free, which completely invalidates it as a perk.

I realize that I now own the DLC, but I was perfectly happy just renting it. I will never play without a sub because I value all the perks I receive with +, so owning vs renting has zero positive effect for me and others who feel the same way.

I'd suggest they discount our subscriptions or give subscribers some crowns or something of worth to make up for the difference, but that is only a bandaid solution. The real solution is to not give ESO+ perks away in the first place.

I rather get a house like when Summerset was completed in 2018.

For me if the game is not worth a $11.50 to $15 a month subscription, then it's not worth my time playing it. So having access to a DLC after I cancel my subscription is pointless and worthless as if I've unsubbed I'm not going to be logging in to actually play the game.

I've already bought the chapter and I'm currently subscribed to the game so giving me "ownership" of the DLC does not currently add anything to my account or game experience. And to state it again, for me personally, if I've unsubbed I'm not playing the game.

So, for me personally, the free DLC is worthless.

ZOS could have given people that have maintained a sub for a period of time (over three months minimum IMO) a choice of various things from the crown store; could include mounts, houses, riding lessons, respecs, skill lines, "ownership" of the DLC, whatever. Just give subbed players a choice of something they'd find useful. But giving me the ability to access a DLC after I've stopped playing the game is pointless.

It's good for people that don't sub, but it really undermines part of the reason for maintaining a subscription, access to the content.

Having a "big reward" that is pointless and useless for a significant portion of the playerbase just seems like a bad idea.

Please note our feedback and concerns voiced in this thread. Many ESO+ members feel that our subscriptions are invalidated by giving perks we pay monthly for to everyone else for free. I realize the pet was to make up for this, but it doesn't.

Please consider a temporary discount or extra crowns with our subs to make the value of the rewards more even. But more importantly please don't give away any more of our paid perks in the future because it takes away from the value of our subscriptions.

It is what it is. I'm not overly disappointed, but I'm not overly excited either. I'm ESO+ so I'll have the DLC anyway. May alt accounts don't have High Isle so they won't be eligible. The pet is fine I suppose.

The short story is that this reward is not intended to be for me. It's intended to drive sales of the chapter to non ESO+ players and for that purpose, it's probably going to do well and make those players happy.
