The problem is that while many people are focused on the motif of the spear they dont like, they are missing the bigger picture that the animation needed to be changed to get it on the global cooldown. That was 100% a good change to get it so you can weave it consistently with other skills. What are you suggesting, that you could pay for a skill that potentially hits harder with a longer channel? No way. Its by definition pay to win.
The damage on the new jabs needs small buff, no question. But we need to stop with the doomsday scenarios about the spear change. Its overall a good change, and templar is still probably the easiest class to play in PVE.
I do think it would be really cool if they gave you control over the motif in the spear in someway, but as priorities go, its pretty low on the list of things they need to address.

Absolutely. Now to better answer this question. If it were something else like Skyrim or one of them Fallout Games, I would just mod it right?
If that's what it takes I'd glady pay for convenience and many people would, we do it every day. That's not the solution to this problem however but why the change at all? Christ. Thats like Disney World turning EPCOT Center into a trailer park with a bowling ally and a shady bar. Actually that sounds pretty good but I doubt most fans would agree.

Not sure if you typed that with tongue firmly in cheek, but ... Yeah, that would take monetisation to a whole new level of depravity. I know, lets change an animation and get folk to pay us for reverting it back. The scary thing is, some folk really would encourage that practice by forking out cash for it. What next? Pay to get past the opening credits? How about taking the character creator out of the game and charge folk for creating a character, and whilst they're at it, charge us separately before we can adjust the sound/picture settings. Hell, they can even charge us to fix the current UI bug that happens from time to time in dungeons
I think If ZoS began charging us for this garbage, those who love to act all dramatic and announce their departure with every passing update, really would leave. I along with them.
ZOS will never add double code to run at the same time. They have demonstrated an aversion to any extra data that they deem unnecessary, due to the chronic performance issues.
I'm looking at this as an option for a choice that won't put me at odds with the game I enjoy playing. Thus a change can be made without splitting the fan base or killing the game because of it.
