It isn't simply a case of people not paying attention or caring, it's that for those players who don't do PvP or competitive PvE these sorts of changes simply don't impact on their playstyle.

Of all the requests and issues raised by customers on the forums in the last 2 weeks I bet this is the one that the devs focus on
I play almost exclusively PVP on NA PC. Since the patch I am still seeing the usual people in zone chat and groups so to me it doesn't appear that people are dropping off, but I know the sample is small.
Balance is obviously an issue, especially with the new sets. It's creating toxicity in chat especially when it's taking 20 of us to kill someone wearing maras. I personally just walk away after a minute or two but a lot of people complain and get riled up about it and I think that frustration is what will drive people away.
It's not fun when someone is nearly impossible to kill.
The last 2 nights I've barely gone into Cyro, and instead have been using my crafter to farm gear etc. I suspect I'll be doing that a but more until thr next patch.

Good news is that Mara's is supposed to get a nerf somewhere around the 5th of September, so in a week, or so.....
I don't do a LOT of Cyro, and tend towards scout and quick missions, as I can often get more than 10 transmutes that way, faster and with less heartache than the random dungeons...... but I listen to people on chat wherever I go.....

Do you have a link for that information?
I couldn't locate notes.

This is not necessarily an accurate statement, globally. Just sayin'...

So the game Changed somewhat. It became, in Some respects, a bit more challenging. Isn't that Exactly what players have been clamoring for?? Too much content was not challenging enough ?? Well, they got what the wanted and now players want to quit ??
I've not quit but I've been in maintenance mode since shortly after the Deadlands update. Just grabbing the daily rewards and hireling mail, doing weekly endeavors and getting my event tickets.
Shortly after New Year I went back to another online game, which I've been actively playing ever since. I've been tired of the last few updates, it's not just U35. In the other game I'm always excited to watch a monthly development report video. Because bugfixes and various requested QoL features are gradually added to the game, and sometimes devs also introduce complete surprise additions which so far haven't been dreadful at all. This week it was announced that during the next balancing patch underperforming classes and weapons will be buffed to be on par with the more popular options. No sledgehammer nerfs, no need to dump old equipment, no need to relearn entire classes.

This. Despite the dev's best efforts, the ES brand remains strong and will outlast their reign of terror. I have little desire to do anything other than gather endeavors and tickets. And I'm certainly not dropping any coins. High Isle or subs. As I've said before this model is unsustainable. Eventually the camel's back will break, if it hasn't already. Waiting out the storm.

Real quitters just quit!! They dont need any attention.. They dont need to go on and on and on on forums.. They just do it!.. THIS whatever u want to call it is simply scare tactics to try and manipulate ZOS into doing your bidding.. end of story!!
The game is fine and will be fine once all is tweaked as they have planned!

Have you been reading the threads? Some of us have been upset because PEOPLE WE KNOW have quit. Not once have I said that I have quit. I have cut back in playing because of U33, but my friends have quit because of U35. Gone. Given away their stuff. And as far as I have seen, you're right... they aren't on the forums or commenting.I AM commenting because I'm still here and still playing and don't like the trend of seeing my friends quit. I'm not trying to manipulate anyone; I'm trying to raise awareness and help so that ZOS can make informed decisions with more data.
It's not true that everyone is quitting. It's not true that no one has quit. It's not true that everyone on the forums talking about players leaving are people who are lying about having quit. The game might be "fine" even if some folks quit but it would be better if those folks were still in our community.
Exactly. [Snip]

You can play any other for that with better balance/combat and etc.
To kill "untouchable" - players with hots ? Easy - just debuff skill that revert HOTs and shielding to oblivion damage.
With the skill that mass explode when is purged
Easy fix.
Fake tanks - are really words with no real meaning.
DD can tank, the same time Tank can just stand and do nothing.
And to add to what I said, above.
Many people have said to me, "what does it matter if (insert your favorite derogatory comment about upper play groups here) all leave... I don't do raids".
Well, you DO like crafting motifs, and you DO like having some of the style pages that are gated behind those raids.
"I'll buy them via the guild stores".... which works until no one is running them, to gain those motifs and styles, and they are not being sold anymore.
At that point, the ONLY option is when ZOS makes them crown store items, or available via endeavors, since the crown crates are very poor return on investment. So, yes, even casuals will be affected by this change.... maybe not immediately... but eventually, it will lead to lower access to things they want, as the suppliers for those items will have gone.
We are ALL a community, and the loss of any part does, indeed, hurt the whole.

The small instanced shards you were on were packed. You cannot yell anything about the overall game's population based on the instance you are in

Well everyone seemed happy so there is that. I made some new friends and tomorrow were going to Role Play in Death's Valor Keep together.

Highlight by me in sbr32’s text. He didn't state anything different and the forum and threads have circled now one too many times around this item. Same with people not knowing that the trial dummy has been buffed with up to 20% dps increase when stating nothing has changed for them.
We don’t know how many active and paying players ESO has. I assume they would be boasting about the numbers if it would be close to or above 1 million. As they are dead silent on that, I assume it is nowhere near that. More we can’t say / assume. 🤷🏻♂️

Topic that some one post here shows 36/64 Steam/Site players.
If some players have ban on forum and some part of steam players do not use it and even do not use official site we can think that real numbers are a little different.
The same poll on reddit I see had about 50/50 numbers that I think is more correct.
So for PC online we can double steam numbers with some +- correction to it.
The same time there are players on Xbox and Play station, I do not know any numbers about them.
