I was a huge fan of this game at the start but now I'm seriously considering unsubbing. Here's why:

    1. Too many maintenance days. How damn hard is it to keep it to one fixed day/time a week? Especially stop having maintenance days on holidays. If it's a EU server, than get a EU calendar and notice when the holidays are. Or at least apologize and offer some free play time to compensate and show respect for your paying clients.
    2. Total lack of social/group playing. Even if 2 persons group there's no way to see shared quests, it still feels like each is doing his own thing. Since most people join guilds just for the store, there is almost zero social interaction in guilds.
    3. Lack of an auction house. The guild store is a joke. It doesn't even have a decent search option.
    4. Recent nerf to bosses loot timer. The ability to loot a boss multiple times was one of ESO's features over the likes of WoW, where you farm a boss for days or weeks on ends to get the item you want (and leads to frustration).
    5. Huge amount of bots and gold sellers. How hard is it to have a few ingame GM's monitoring zone chat and dungeon bots?
    6. And two more things that should change: the totally unjustified huge cost of a mount or a respec.

Talking about problems is fine. I dont want to appear crazy - but how about, maybe, offering some sort of solution or making that criticism constructive? I know, i know, totally absurd idea.

Becasue some of us were doing constructive criticism and offering solutions for the past year. So maybe, just maybe they are a bit annoyed when it turned out that all of it landed in the bin? I know, totally absurd idea. They have METRIC TONS of player created feedback from beta sessions, that was not implemented at all, and some people created FULL UI REMODELS and lua/xml coding for the game. FOR FREE.

Game is great, but with the constant LAG because of the EU Server not being in EU, i will let run out my gametime.

Will only come back if they actually do what should have been since the release, moving that bloody server to EU.

How about if you don't like the game you just unsubscribe and leave instead of crying on the forums about it? Go create a perfect MMO since you know everything.

So you dont want players to talk about what they find wrong about games? Are we all to live in a "pretend that all is perfect world"?

Talking about problems is fine. I dont want to appear crazy - but how about, maybe, offering some sort of solution or making that criticism constructive? I know, i know, totally absurd idea.

Making these threads isnt about that, its about attention seeking.

Heck, I'd even put money on the OP still playing this game next week, and next month and likely still being here in 6 months time.

Firstly, I like your idea about give constructive solutions. However, before the solution, we need to know the problems, doesn't it?

Secondly, about whether I will continue or not, please don't assume someone you do not know at all. And the truth is I already cancelled my 6 month sub because of a serials encounters.

This is the only thread I created and might be the only one I will make. The truth is that I want the attention, HOWEVER, NOT FROM OTHER PLAYERS, BUT ZOS, so that they could collect their action, make the experience better with the game in general, so we could continue to sub. To be honest, a lot of problems listed by players are great feedback. We gave feedback in hope of they change something so that we could stay instead of some attention from other players. No all the people feel good about this kind of attention. At least not me.

Thank you for your time anyway.

If they do send them, I would assume it will be long after the 30 days. Technically, we're still 'paying subs' until that time is up.

    1. Unplanned server down time, ESPECIALLY the lack of information/communication for the reason of downtime. Unplanned server down time is understandable, however not acceptable for a customer to pay for their consequences. As a customer, we are here to enjoy their service instead of sucking up their mess, which is not our obligation to do so. They have to compensate all the unplanned down time to us customers, however, ZOS don't give a damn about it till now.

    2. Unconcern about their EU customer. As EU customer, it hits me hard. Hard enough to think about leaving the game. We got worse lags, we got patches during holidays(in most EU countries) and so on.

    3. Lack of communication with their customer and necessary information provided. A lot of problems could be simply avoid by providing enough information and communication with/to their customers, however they simply neglected it. It feels like their customer service is a joke. No offence, their CS teem need a good training program.
These three are the major points why I've unsubscribed. And I would add some more:
    - Game feels unfinished in almost every aspect of it. Every part of the game feels unpolished, left to be "fixed" some time in the near future. It feels like we are still playing early beta.

    - Bugged and unbalanced classes. Lack of commitment to urge the balancing.

    - EU server is not located in Europe yet. We don't know why it isn't or when it will come, IF it comes at all. Reasons for this delay are only known for Zenimax and costumers can only speculate and make theories about it.
Mine is that they want some more sub. money billing on the American soil and then they will transfer it to Europe. By the EU laws, a subscriber can ask for a refund under any circumstances in the period of 14 days after he was billed or his game time code accepted. Absolutely the opposite what TOS for ESO says.

    - Major fix and content patch coming after the free month in order to give a false hope to players, so they can pay their subs.

    - Unbalanced vetaran zones. You have almost the same level 50 (vet. rank 1) character and mobs are getting harder and harder.

Now, when this game and their developer start thinking with their developer brains and not money brains this game will shine. Until then I won't be giving my money for an unfinished product that might be or might not be improved in the near future.
Good luck to all of you who will continue to pay for a subscription...

This one is unsubbing until further notice (maybe Khajiit will return in months to come when things straighten out, or not - who knows)...

The main for me concern is not the bots anymore, as annoying as they are or were in my time playing, but the lack of satisfaction through support. It's like half the tickets I sent had cut/paste answers from a machine which simply picked up on certain words in my ticket; which didn't help me at all because the person didn't seem to bother reading all of what I had originally asked of them. And if I replied goodness knows how many times I'd still get nowhere and no straight helpful answer to my issues. It's just too frustrating and worrying to remain in a game where I know I have no help from the Staff if I needed it in an otherwise decent game.

It took me berating some poor chap who did his rp cut and paste response to an issue that was supposedly fixed but was still affecting a large amount of players to get a human response. A legit, no RP script response. They have got to know on some level that isn't cute any more.

I wanted to avoid posting this but frankly, I know I'm correct about this and I'm done with biting my tongue on the issue...

To put this in context - I have experience of dealing with players using CheatEngine, WPE, WEH and custom memory-editing tools against various different WoWEmu cores (with and without utilizing Blizz's "Warden") as well as log and DB analysis to determine who cheaters were and secondary, tertiary, etc. parties that benefited from their cheating. - It is experience that, had it been an influence in your development process, would have ensured most of botting and exploit issues would have been mitigated by the release date.

Your server-side development team are making the sorts of mistakes I'd personally be very embarrassed about (even as a hobbyist MMO dev) and that simply should not be made in an AAA-rated title such as TESO.

I assure you, if I was managing the project, I would not have let things get this bad, I would have tackled the problems pre-emptively and I wouldn't have my CS staff tied up with 85% of their queries being in relation to something that should and could have been mitigated by the launch date and wouldn't require any massive changes or large overheads on the server.

The incompetence of the server-side dev team has betrayed the hard work of the content production teams, has disappointed many of us and has potentially wrecked TESO's reputation before it's even been live for a month.

I wouldn't be so annoyed if it wasn't for the fact that I anticipated this, offered to help with vuln/sploit testing and fixes during beta, offered solutions for automatic detection and purging since then and have seen no implementation of a smart approach to the problem being made in approx 20 days.

It's not just the bots, there are other technical things that have been implemented badly - there have been technical design and implementation choices that guarantee quite a few players will encounter problems and glitches which again could have been mitigated with a little bit of thinking and logic (the messed up load/instantiation order of meshes, colliders/physics and textures of scenery being a perfect example of this.)

I really wanted to love this game but time's almost up and things have gone from bad to worse (unplayable due to lag yesterday). I want to resubscribe but it makes little sense to until these issues are resolved.

Well fact that the moderators havent woke up seems to just strengthen the OPs point...

The OP asked a question and has his/her opinion and I for one agree with much he said, what I always hate are these "wonderfully clever wiseasses" who love to drop a "witty" comment or insult to the OP who has issue and would like to put it out there.

You say these posts are "illegal"? how do we voice our issue? Feedback report? that from a game that has been offline several times in one week, also on a feedback system that you never get a response back on?

So its posted here, because even if "wonderfully clever wiseasses" are the only to reply at least someone else sees it who may feel the same or have some insightful input rather than Zeni's "muted approach" to everything.

Another poster said they are happy with the support its the best? Well as that person said they could call Zeni support line and talk to them, hopefully then you would get a fast response...but some of us sit on the other side of the planet and 5min on call would cost half the games price almost so we rely on forums and mails to support so far of all the support mails i have sent zeni 0 of them they could help me with or resolve, 95% of those they never get back to me about and the rest they reply with a "basic set of instructions" to fix the issue, they dont even really look at what your problem is, I have sent 4 or so reports generated from the launcher to them I have had no feedback on them that could fix the issues.

I got a mail back 2 days ago that I initially sent more than a week before, thats support at Zenimax at the moment at least via correspondence.

I am still subbed but I sure as hell am not happy and the more people voice their concerns the better, maybe Zenimax would rethink their "muted approach"

As for those of you who just like running down people like the OP about legitimate concerns, I suggest you go outside and go ski or swim and all that nonsense that some posters here said, because your comments are not constructive nor wanted.

Logged into my account today and changed my subs to 30 days. This means I can unsub quicker. I've written to company advised I'm going to unsub in next 30 days unless missing hireling goods are provided as promised. Also many other problems with game, biggest for me is EU server downtime (like now!) and an appalling approach to communications.

Very deep and thoughtful by your side, only there is fact that you forget. Each and everyone of us, players, invested the real money in this game. And made plans, sub. plans, to invest more, so each and everyone of us have a full right to even sit on developer's heads and demand what we were promised to get with this game.

Posts here are the real reasons why people are leaving this game, and if someone doesn't like them then he can go with the elites that already have ruined this game.

    Game is great.

No! It is not! Have you played any other games??? There is nothing great about it. It has the potential to be great, but it has had that potential since the beginning of beta, or actually, since the beginning of development. The game is a fail on so many levels. It's incomplete, released early and unfinished due to greed. This is what Bethesda does. Take Morrowind, awesome game, so full of content and playability. Then oblivon, not so good, released with lots of the features we loved from morrowind missing. Then Skyrim.... yeah Skyrim, if it wasn't for the modding community, it would be the most disappointing ES game yet. So I was hardly surprised when Bethesda released ESO unfinished, un-polished and incomplete. It's their track record now.
This game was released on the strength that it was eagerly anticipated. Note the lack of a free trial at release? That's because they knew it was a bug ridden lag infest stack of brown stuff that should never have left beta, but they didn't care about that, they cared about money. If I had played a free trial then I, like many others, would have had serious doubts about paying for it. People who had not participated in beta had no choice but to buy the game. People who were true blue elder scrolls fans who have stayed faithful to the series despite it's many shortcomings sometimes. They have been cheated! £40 - £60 for this? I actually feel robbed. I work hard for my money! Was it too much to expect Bethesda and Zenimax to work hard for my money too by supplying me with something worth the expense?
As to the OP, I am undecided as to whether I will continue to sub. I don't want to, but I do believe the game could be great. That is the strength of my loyalty to the elder scrolls series. It seems it is asking too much to have that loyalty returned and repaid though if this is the best offering that they could give.

Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.

Im not sure yet, cause the sub is nearly at the end but from the 4 weeks we have been able to play only 3 weeks cause of the many many and many maintenances.

I even had to pay extra before I would get my 30 dyas free play time, so there is another month coming for me, but not sure if im gonna play anymore.

To many downtimes with no reimburst of any kind not irl or in game but we did pay 100 euro for imperial edition + the extra 30 days ofc wich we werent said either. thats 130 euro for 3 weeks of playing so far because 1 week total has been in the downtimes.
  • woutervanjellob16_ESO
I love the game. I'll keep playing. However there are some things I don't like. Things that are pretty bad.

    1. EU Maintenances. I don't have much playtime. Servers are down in the morning and during the day. Sometimes I play at night and I really don't see a lot of players. Currently there are a lot of maintenances. Please, consider doing them at night.

    2. Bots. Way to many bots. I know every MMO had/has them but come on.. Where are your ingame GM's? Hire some 16 year old kids to help with this problem. I know you are busy "fixing" this issue but you need ingame GM's 24/7 cos these *** are everywhere.

    3. Respec costs. 100g per skill? How many skill shards are in this game? +/- 90? You get skill points from leveling AND quests (which I like) but 100g is very expensive. The idea I like most is a FREE respec which you can always do wherever you are (even if you're standing in PVP or a dungeon). This way we can really play how we like and we can really experiment more. Lot's of people will like this idea which is a good thing. 1 person will tell a good experience to all his friends (also a bad experience). Currently you aren't making profit (real money) when we respec so you will have a win situation (happy costumers = more costumers).

    4. Weird engine problems/lag. One of my friends has the same specs in his PC. Only difference is: I have 12gb ram and he has 8. He has max 20fps on ultra settings and I have 30 to 60fps on ultra.

    5. Forum activity. I like to read the forum. But I don't see a lot of responses. This is a bad thing. Reply, use the sandwich method: win costumers.

    6. Class skills. I like every class and every skill. But they react slow. Even if you have no lag and good fps skills are to slow for a 2014 MMO. The block is also a little weird. I saw a lot of people complain about it ("BLOCK DOESN'T WORK AAAA" etc.) Sometimes I block for 2 seconds (waiting for the attack to happen) and it doesn't work. Lot's of people simply block to late but the mechanic is a little weird right now.

    7. The game is great. I love every environment, every quest, the exploring (like all ES games), textures, monsters bla bla etc.

Thanks for reading. Please, listen to us. This game is great, give us service. Invest in service and we'll stay.
