I won't be playing if I am not a sub, just the bag space makes it worthwhile for me. And ALL the DLCs.
I can't see playing without ESO+ myself, so this is definitely not the "big deal" they make it out to be. Perhaps some will love it, but I would wonder even about that. Certainly some here will benefit, but how much of the playerbase will benefit?
Though I do wonder how they will get 100% if they count ALL players. What about those who have just quit playing, even if they are subbed? I am wasting my PS4 sub right now since I am not playing there. I may try to get on and earn the Pathfinder achievement at least once to help, but I may not. Does that mean everyone on the PS4 (both NA and EU) will not get the not so grand "grand prize" if I do not?
I am still irked at losing all my PS4 stuff (mounts, Crowns, housing) by moving to the PC. So a misleading "great deal" is annoying.
No.
It's 100% of an arbitrary threshold that only ZoS knows.
We'll hit it regardless of the community involvement. Think of the marketing fiasco they'd have if they didn't.
They are essentially just giving everybody the free DLC if they own Blackwood.

To be honest if the mystery prize was that they were going to give it away to everyone, including people who don’t own Blackwood, I’d feel happier about it.
I get the free + trial when it's out to clear the bank, but that only started a few tears ago. Don't hoard too many crafting materials. Got 1 toon holding a bunch of set items. Never found it too limiting. Most of my toons use world sets rather than crafted ones, anyway.Honest question: How do you play the game? I can't conceive how one could acquire and use multiple builds, craft extensively, and make large amount of gold without a subscription. If you're content thrifting your way through the game, and all the extra time and effort that requires to constantly be limited, then you are a grand minority.Monte_Cristo wrote: »I buy the chapters and zone dlcs, never been a sub--

No offer like this has existed before and it coincides with the release of a competitive MMO.
This is why competition is king for consumers. All the ESO main streamers are playing New World and the game is flavour of the month - whether it lasts is questionable.
But ZOS are just reacting to market competition. They know that if they can leech off a percentage of the ESO migrants to New World and tempt them back with a free DLC, than its a worthwhile short term monetary loss.

Was happy to hear at least something on stream about the new servers and hopefully cold storage does something to alleviate the lag, but I doubt it will have any effect where help is most needed (PvP) but I'll hold my criticism until it's live. 180 days? Can I hold him to it? lol

Apologies for the cynicism but you really think that they’re giving this away out of the goodness of their hearts and are not using it as an incentive to sell more of a chapter that has apparently had poor sales performance? Or maybe I missed the sarcasm in your post.

Here you have a situation where pretty much anyone who is participating in this event also has access to the DLC as I'm betting people who buy expansion also sub, so you are basically saying:
"Hey thanks to everyone who participated to unlock this prize, we are now going to give access to it to all the folks who didn't participate."
You also effectively devalue your subscription by adding this as free content, which I appreciate, but seems counter productive for something that is supposed to be a reward for the players and ideally promote sales.
I am amazed you didn't go with another house and place it in the Blackwood area so players would have to buy blackwood or sub to access it...

Isn't this awesome... but some people here still do complain?
Why not just be happy for all the people without ESO+ to enjoy it?
If you cannot be happy for other people
you probably won't be happy for a lot of your life...
Because you get the most happiness in life
when the people around you are happy.

So what’s the reward? Players that loyally subscribe to ESO+ aren’t really getting anything. Casual base game players aren’t getting anything unless they shell out for Blackwood. And those that miss out are usually able to find a crown gifter to reward them.
So yeah, it’s a let down.

I've played almost everyday for several years and spent alot of money over the years, and this year in particular, I was really starting to feel turned off by performance, lack of depth in companions, this years story/theme...etc. A couple months ago, I decided that I wouldn't spend any more money on this game until they start improving things. But now after they announced that they are giving away the deadlands DLC for free I was super excited and I'm actually hyped for the deadlands DLC now where as before I wasn't really interested or going to get it for at least quite a while until maybe when there was a sale. I can see now that after watching the past ESO Announcement livestreams, Rich Lambert answer player questions and talk about the game on his Twitch Channel and the dev's excitement talking about what they are doing and the stuff they are working on, I can see that they really do care, they love the game and want to make it the best they can. This announcement of giving away an entire DLC for free has restored my faith in ZOS and showed me that they don't just care about money, they actually want to make their customers happy. I will be supporting ZOS by buying crowns/DLC/Chapters again and because they will be giving away this DLC for free, I'm now considering subscribing to continue to show support and reward ZOS for being generous and giving things to their loyal players. I think ZOS deserves some praise, and should be rewarded for being customer friendly. I hadn't thought of how ESO+ subscribers would feel since technically they would've gotten access to the zone regardless, but think about it this way, now you don't have to pay crowns to fully own it anymore ensuring that you have access to the zone forever, plus if it reaches 100% then you still have the ogrim target dummy to look forward to. Either way, it's sad to see ZOS getting flak from the community where they shouldn't. ZOS is doing a good thing for the community and they are getting attacked for it, what does this show them? That if they do something good they will be met with division and criticism by the community, this will make them less likely to give us stuff for free in the future. I for one like free stuff regardless if its something as small as a pet/cosmetic or as big as a house/DLC, no matter what I am grateful for free stuff and want ZOS to know that they are doing good thing for the community, keep up the good work!
